I got this game for Cristmas, and Im glad I put it on my list.Lets put it simple though, this game rules!!It totally reminds me of true crime, and is just as good.It isnt as hard as alot af games, but that doesnt not make it fun.You get to use people as human sheilds, and use slo mo fighting is cool too.And it has a great price too.One last thing, its alittle gory, but you can deactivate the blood.Nd the mature sexual themes,Theres one''exotic dance club''ith girls so please parents,if you think this is a dirty game thats wrong.I would say if your about 12 or13,you can totally handle it.As I said, its a great game,so buy it and have fun MERRY CHRISTMAS TOO ALL AND HAVE GREAT TIME WITH YOUR FAMILIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great game that deserves some credit.

I won't write a lengthy review, as many others on here have said enough. However, I would like to inject my own thoughts, as I enjoyed this game immensely. Sure, It may be a Max Payne spinoff, ripoff,or whatever you may label it, but it does have some unique qualities of it's own. I played Max payne one and two, and both games have some striking similarities. Both Max and Jack are cops who have lost loved ones to horrific violence, and are intent on revenge and retribution, no matter what it takes. Heck, the two even resemble each other physically. One thing Max did not have, was Shadow, the faithful k9.

I just finished this game a few days ago, and I'll be honest..for me, this was one of the most challenging games I have played for a while. The bosses in this game are the toughest I have faced so far, and I spent many nights tossing my controller down in frustration. Overall, if you are into the noir, this is for you. Despite my liking this game, it's not without it's flaws

Pros:

Good graphics
Nice array of weapons
great storyline
Excellent controls

Cons:

Mini-games..This is a true waste of time, especially the lifting part. I'm surprised i did not damage my controller buttons, lol.

Awkward camera angles on some levels.

Other than that, I highly suggest this game, as it's super cheap now. Enjoy!

This game is worth a renal at best

Dead to rights is a good game but not as good as Max PAyne to me
Pros:
Syphon Filter and Max Payne like gameplay
Enimies are challanging
Nice cutseenes
Alot of guns
Adreniline mode helps alot
I love using guys as shields
Unlike Max Payne and Gabe, this dide can fight
Cons:
A story ripped of from Max Payne
Ugly weapons system(can't hold alot of bullets)
Not so good regular graphics
When weapons fire, sound like it has too much bass
can't jump
Not so good music
Nothin much to do after u beat it

This game is not as good as max payne, but it's worth checkin out. I'd suggest a rental at best, rather than a buy.

Definately a Rental

Overall the game play is good, but towards the middle it gets repetative. The variety of weapons is a plus and I could play around with the disarms all day. If you like the arcade style shoot-em up then this is the game for you, but if you are a fan of the engrossing storyline you better file this game under your rental section.

Buy it cheap or rent it, but try some how!

The game play on this one is a lot of fun. The only may to survive is to do crazy slow motion dives, disarms, or grab a baddy and use him as a human shield. Take over as your drug/bomb sniffing K-9 companion, or make a stripper shake her money make to sneak you past the guards. Watch out, you're being set up, and a cop in prison has to defend himself!

very juvenile

this game starts out really cool - the controls are good and the takedowns are wild. this is where you disarm an enemy and blow his head off in one move. but then things start to slide very quickly. the game is punctuated by puzzles which are extremely annoying and not at all fun. the worst of which is the bomb disarming where you run a ball through a maze and if you touch the edges the bomb explodes. this reminds me of a very stupid game that must have been around in the 70s or 80s. why namco would resurrect this ridiculous concept as part of dead to rights is beyond me!!! the action is also soooooo arcade - enemies pour onto screen so you can blow them away with auto-aim. this is fun for about 5 minutes but the game never develops beyond this. it's like time crisis without the piece. if your under 12 this game may be for you but even kids these days are sophisticated gamers so I don't know.

in simplified words, THE BEST GAME EVER!!!!!

I first heard about this game from a DVD i received with a PSMagazine. It had all these 4 min movies and stuff on all these games. one of which was a Dead To Rights Movie. You know how many times i watched that movie? LIKE 1000 TIMES!!! I loved the game! I was totaly hooked! so i ran out to the nearest game store, totally forgetting that i had a car. I ran 6 blocks, non stop!(I am not a video game freak i just get really excited some times)I bought The thing and held it up like it was a gift from heaven!(actually i held it up like Link does whenever he finds something in Zelda. DA-NA-NA-NEI! I think thats the sound.) But anyway, I put the game in, watched the beginning intro, and beat the entire game that day. That was the most fun ive had scince the time I *** **** *** *** *** **** ***** 7 *****! Ohh that was a fun time. but not as fun as Dead To Rights! to all those people out there who said this games sucked, YOU **** *** ************ ***-**-*-***** *** *******. And to all those who arent sure about this game, trust me, It's awsome! of you just pay attension to the game and not what the level looks like or the characters like i did. youll have the same feeling i did when i played it.

Fast-paced action and lots of variety

The number of different things you can do is amazing. The number of bad guys is insane. Total John Woo feel.

Dead to Rights seemed interesting. I had bought Max Payne, Solid Snake, Grand Theft Auto and the Getaway and several other similar games of that genre and wasn't dissappointed. Unfortunatly I can't say the same for this one. It is engrossing, no lying about that, but there wasn't anything that kept my attention. The cut scenes were creativly done, but all you do is shoot, shoot, shoot, fist-fight alittle, die 18 million times and shoot some more; so much so that it left me feeling shell shocked. The ending was a letdown and the game was too short. The mini-games were weak and an unnecessary distraction (pushing buttons for a stripper to dance to distract bouncers? C'mon!) I had expected more challenges from these. The slow-motion diving was useless, too. I only used it twice in the game because you can still get shot while doing it and it's hard as hell to aim at enemies. I say before plopping down 50 dollars for it, RENT IT FIRST or wait until it goes on sale for 20 bucks(like I did).

TRASH

If you have no values in life other than yourself this game is for you. I got rid of it as I did not want my dog to get any ideas. Cross the street and find a better game.
