One of the best racing game ever...

This game is simple awesome...
It reminds me of the movie Fast and the Furious. I love weaving in and out of traffic, something you don't see in many racing games. The turbo nox is cool. The crash mode is one of the best ideas in a car game yet. I love how it at up the total cost of the traffic accident. Hopefully people will realize that this is a game and should not be practiced in real life. The game is just a great game to add to the collection. The game can also be found for $19 and is worth every dollar. So if you want some fun get Burn Out 2. It's by far one of my favor PS2 games.

A great game.

This is a really good racing game. Its you against your rivals. Doing risks will get you BOOST and with the boost you can leave your rivals in the dust. The cars tracks and crashes are great. And if you crash it will cause maximum destruction to your car But then after its all over it'll be fine but your boost will be all gone. So watch it.

THIS IS FUN!!!

Plain and simple this game is all about adrenalin rushing fun! If you're looking for a driving sim then get Gran Tourismo 4 when it comes out. The speed you feel while driving is unmatched in any racer i've played. The crash scenes add that extra nice satisfying touch when you're speeding down the road with oncomming traffic ahead and collide with a semi tracktor trailer!! That experiece youjust cant get with other racing games.

Now for the negatives. The music really doesnt fit with the game in any way. It doesnt give me that speed rush that music from say Need For Speed 2 gave me. The options are pretty week as well. Not much in the way of customizing. The audio effects arent as jazzed up as Need For Speed 2 as well. All in all though I love Burnout 2! One of the best out there. Can't wait for Burnout 3!!!!

my favorite driving game

This is my all time favorite driving game, high speed, insanely awesome crashes, lots of cars. All the track in this game are sweet, the only ones i play rarely are the snow maps, and thats mainly because of how short the tracks are.

Crash mode, is so top; ingenious idea to get the most insurance damage, great idea on the developers part, they actually listened to what the fans wanted. Crash mode really shows how big the crashes can actually get.

Pursuit mode is also very cool, especially in 2 player the race get really competative, and always gets my heart racing. Pieces of the cars come off of the car your peruing to tell you what damage level the other person is at.

Circuit mode, is my favorite

the replays are so cool, they really made it in a way that i admire, i hate watching split screen replays its just dumb, having the camera change whose on the big screen by what place they are in is awesome. You get to see so much more of the action that way. So if your friend crashed behind you and its flying through the air you'll get to see it in the distance behind your car.

Graphics, are clean, no anti-aliasing errors could be seen, textures are high quality so everything looked amazing, car models resemble some modern day cars, like the supra, mustang, lotus, civic, and such.

I can't wait for a sequel.

this is the best racing game iive ever played

This game is exteremly fun to crash and also to race because in the racing you can crash. The crashes have amazing detail and acause a chain reaction making other cars crash. I would not reccomend to 8 years of age and below. This is more fo 10 and 14 year olds. All and alll it is a fun game. My friend is a car nut and he owns all these games where yo must keep your car nice but who doesnt want to crash every once in a while. It has a short list of things to do such as a crash, pursiut and small minigames but it gets worn out after an hour. But the cars are amazing some have power some are have speed some have good ccelaration. Over all I give this game 4 stars thanks to to the limited things to do it has a star down.

Awesome Crashes!!!

This game is the coolest! I played it when my friends came over and it's awesome. The crashes are 100% realistic, and now there's even a Crash Mode, where you have to get the biggest crash and get the most damage and owe the most money you can. In one level, you can even go flying off a cliff!
I would have given it five stars, but the racing mode can kinda get a little boring. When I played it, I almost always came in first, and the opponents get up to 7 seconds behind you, so if you make a brutal crash, they still don't catch up. Overall, though, this game is one of the best car games i've ever played.

Pretty Good, but Gran Tourismo Better

This game is very similar to Gran Tourisma, the de facto standard in car racing games for PS2. It has a few attributes that make it fun, specifically the underground, rebel vibe of racing on populated highways rather than organized race tracks like GT. People are excited about the crashes, and that is a cool factor, but even that is not too well integrated into the game play.

The crashing only happens as an end to your ride. So you get the fun crash when you total your car, and you get an instant replay of the crash, which is fun to watch. But you don't get crashes during driving, that disable you and allow you to continue driving, the way you do in Grand Theft Auto. You'd be better off buying that game if you want the feeling of crashing around on the highway.

Unlike Gran Tourismo, Burnout did not go to the extra expense of licensing well know music, and actual cars into their game. They took the cheap way out and put in fake versions of real cars and other silly original creations. The music is from unknown artists, and has a cheesy Karioki vibe to it. Not too good. This game is probably a good half way point between GTA and Gran Tourismo, but is not near as good as either in their strength areas. Buy it cheap if you can, but don't get too excited. It's not that great.
