I got this game a little while ago and I love it! Im a huge BTVS fan so of course I got this as soon as I could. Despite the fact SMG doesnt do Buffys voice, and other characters are missing their real voice, you bearly notice because the real actors are there for their characters, and that seems to support it. The graphics are wonderful for playstation 2 and although the characters faces arent spot on they do have very similar like-ness. Personally, I would have loved a little Angel in the story but thats fine. It progressivly gets harder but its still possible to beat. I would absolutly recommend this game to any Buffy fan and its worth the cost for such a great game. It really is like controlling fights and what not in an episode.
This game is AWESOME!

When I first played the game I fell in love with right away. The graphics are so much better than the first one. I loved how they brought in Ethan Rayne and they used psycho patients, faith and Sid the dummy. I loved every level of this game. As each level progress, the harder they are and you have to pay close attention to what you're doing. This game is very addicting because you want to know what happens next in the game, and everytime you finish a level you unlock either an interview with the voice of the characters, comic strip, cast photos, or watch them say a scene that took place from the video game and it's a lot of fun.
To anyone that wants to play an entertaining, spunky, adventerous game.. BUY this..I gurantee you wont be disappointed..it's full of action packed and you'll never bored. No disappoint here.

Ok this is my first review, guys, but I think this game is worth every second of my time, both playing it and supporting it via reviews and forums.
I bought this game for my son, he is a fan of the "Buffyverse" that consists of Angel and Buffy, as am I. I thought this would be a good opportunity for us to spend some time together playing something that we would both enjoy. I was right! This game is definitely worth the cash.
Sadly, when we moved, we lost track of the game and haven't found it but I just bought a used one here at amazon and it should be here in a few days. Amazon's products are always top notch as are many of the power sellers that sell the used products. Simply, if you are considering buying this game, I dont think youll be able to find one to rent so just buy it here for a few dollars more than the rental and even if you dont like it... Look up a CD-related recycling project like a CD collage and build one of those lol.
Now my son will take over and explain the finer points of the game because I just found it fun to play :P
Hey guys, this game is awesome. Vivendi really outdid theirselves this time... I have played many of their games and this is EASILY their best (not to insult them or anything, their others are good too >_>)
Gameplay - The gameplay is topnotch. I know you'll read some of the negative reviews of how willow and buffy dont sound exactly like themselves. Well Allison Hannigan and Sarah Michelle Gellar didnt do the voice acting because they were busy with other projects. I didnt find that this took away from the experience because I kind of got used to it after a few minutes.
I found this game to have a regular "search and return" basis with a beat 'em up aftertaste. By this, I mean that, like most action games, the whole premise of the game is pretty linear and you simply have to find items that link with other items/interactions to accomplish your goal. SO? The best part about this game is the combat system. It's so intuitive yet lets you control it. The camera is a little buggy at times but it only takes a minute to get the hang of it.
Really the only complaint I can muster would be that it was a little short for my tastes (even thought its like 20 hours on the hardest difficulty) but thats just because I liked it so much. Oh and my disc had a scratch from where I dropped it (not the games fault obviously) and it used to freeze on the third level when you take over willow for the second time (just a sad thought I would share with you lol)
Sound - Aside from the issues with voice acting with Buffy and Willow, this is where the game really shines. The acting is perfect, the script sounds just like something out of a Buffy episode, and you have to love the sound of a vamp dusting that you spend 2 minutes trying to pin down because there were three others knocking you down. (Again, I am a hardcore gamer and always play on the highest difficulties, its not nearly as hard as it sounds and its even easier on normal) The ambiance is nice but it doesnt overdo it... And the pitfall of every action game. You know those catch phrases that heroes use when they kill something? "You're dead... No... Really..." >_> If you havent memorized all of them by the end of the game? You must have short term memory loss. But you barely notice and you can always take your aggression out on the legions of the undead XD
Graphics - The characters look like their real life counterparts and the settings are spot on. Not much more to say here, OH when you dust a vamp for example, the monster dies in that position. Say you stake him in the middle of him kicking you... he dusts with his foot in the air =) That kind of attention to detail is why I love this game.
Replayability - The game doesnt have multiple plot lines or anything that would normally deem you wanting to replay the game. However, I found the combat so fun, and I LOVED using willow's spells, that I found myself coming back to the game over and over.
Summary - Buy it. Now. Its only 10 dollars. What else are you going to spend that on? A pizza? Starbucks? Do you really need those calories? (Not that sitting in front of a playstation is going to do any better for you lol) But do a few jumping jacks and do yourself a favor. Buy this game.
Later days!

I don't like very many games. Most games I don't play for more than 15 minutes. Since I am a huge BTVS fan,I decided to buy the video game. I played it for more than 3 hours straight. Since I work too much now I have been unable to finish playing it. So for those who are deciding whether or not to play Chaos Bleeds; play it. You'll enjoy it.
Chaos Bleeds! Better get a bandaid!

Buffy and the gang return to the PS2 with a vengance in Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds. Control familiar faces as Buffy Summers, Willow, Zander, Faith, and Spike to confront zombies, gargoyles, and of course, vampires. An enemy from Buffy's past has resurfaced with plans to summon "The First Evil" thereby casting the world into permanent darkness. The game is set in locations from the t.v. show and set up for some creepy battles against that which roams the night. Each character speaks, allowing for some genuinely funny moments and the atmospheric music really goes well with the game. Fans will enjoy the bonus material unlocked throughout the game, but that doesn't mean you have to be a fan to enjoy the game. Sporting some multiplayer modes this game keeps me comming back for more. Four stars out of Five.
A must if you're a fan

Anyone who is a fan of the show and doesn't play this game is missing out. In and of itself is a fun game and it's appeal increases from there based on how much you're into the series. It's made to be another episode of Buffy where the crew is transported to an alternate universe from which they have to find their way home. You'll encouter a number of characters from throughout the series and actually get to play as a number of them, including Buffy, Spike, Xander, that mannequin from the ventriloquist episode in the first season, and some others. I play a fair amount of video games and in terms of difficulty, I was able to complete it but didn't find it all that easy to do.
BTVS Fans will Love IT!

This game stays true to the series and the voice overs are great! The story line is pretty good and brings back some great baddies! I would recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of BTVS. Others may or may not enjoy it. Some levels are very simple and others are rather difficult to complete. I don't play the game as much as I used to but even when I played for hours on end I still never got through the entire game. Maybe I'm just slow, but overall it was weel worth the money paid.

I love this game!!! It is a must have for any Buffy fan, and even non-Buffy fans. I have a friend who liked the game, and he doesnt even watch the show. Anyway, this is a really good game with semi-dfficult parts, and is a really good game over-all. I love it!!!!!
Pretty much what you'd expect from a licensed product -- SPOILER ALERT

Buffy fans love the TV series because it was a labor of love. Unfortunately, licensed products like video games too often aren't.
/Chaos Bleeds/, for example, has a great story line and universally interesting settings, and the dialogue and cut scenes are very reminscent of the show. The game play itself, however, ranges from okay at best to abysmal at worst. There are too many cases of "guess what the designer was thinking" in solving levels, making for lots of wandering around, trying to use the action key in overly dark corners, hoping to find something you missed and that it might somehow relate to something else you saw three or four chambers before--all while trying to survive endless vampire attacks.
The Adam section is particularly disappointing. For example, in one room, the only way to progress is to use an EMF grenade on the cyborgs, but several rooms before, an EMF grenade has absolutely no effect on an identical cyborg. (There are several such frustrating contradictions of game logic in other places.) And the battle with Adam himself is the worst: Who could have guessed that his only vulnerability would be dropping barrels on his own head? Shades of Donkey Kong!
Finally, the game's ultimate battle left me swearing I'd never buy another Vivendi-produced game again. There just isn't enough control of the character, nor enough cues to the enemy's spellcasting, to make the battle feel like much more than sheer luck. (By contrast, Willow's final battle is probably too easy, which makes it seem TOO mechanical.)
As for multi-player mode, hah!
Still, much of the game provides a sense of welcome visit to the Buffy-verse. If you can get a copy cheap, and you love Buffy, you'll probably find it worthwhile. But as far as games go, there are certainly better ones out there.
