This game is both entertaining and challenging, it gives you a real feeling that you are included in the game, the levels are very asertive and give you the option to start on a level of difficulty that is right for you.
The graphics on this game are also of great quality and it is very clear and easy to understand. The game is much like the series as the villains are more difficult to deafeat as you go and alot of them are familiar. The down side to this game is that it is unsuitable for certain ages and alot of the younger generations watch Buffy and enjoy the other entertainment i.e:"Buffy The Vampire Slayer" for GameBoy and GameBoy Advanced. I liked the game and would recomend it to any Buffy fan, it has a good rating and i would class it as a 'B/A' type game, i would give it 9/10.
Pretty good

One of my personal 'guily pleasure' games last year was the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer for the Microsoft Xbox. The game looked great, sounded great, and was a lot of fun to play, even if you had never seen an episode of Buffy. This time around, Fox Interactive, Eurocom and Vivendi have all teamed up for a sequel. While the developer has changed, that's not a bad thing, as they've really worked on adding new features to this game to even make it more fun than the original. For those unfamiliar, the original was a nice little hack and slash adventure and while the voices weren't the 'real' actors, they were credible enough that you didn't really notice the people were different. The new version is very similar looking (models look the same, although some areas of the graphics seem to be cleaned up a little more than last time around), and the great sound and ambiance of the original is still pretty neat. Since the actual game of the PS2 and Xbox are nearly identical, I'm giving the nod to the Xbox version on graphics (the GameCube version was unavailable for testing). One of my gripes of the original game was the lack of a multiplayer mode - although one could be unlocked with a magic hack - it wasn't really flushed out. Luckily this time around, multiplayer is very, very cool and you can also are able to play as other characters besides Buffy - however it is in a play this level with so - and - so, you can't choose who you want for a level, which is too bad. What makes it even more depressing is that each character has unique fighting characteristics, which while fun in multiplayer, really makes you wish you could play with these characters as you wish. Puzzles in this game are mostly of the "find the item" variety - nothing really ground breaking or exciting, but the items you need make sense and doesn't really hamper the gameplay itself. Sound is bordering on downright spooky, and that's a good thing. Buffy is one of those games that I've been rather scared to open a door to see what sort of monster is behind. The level environments are a lot of fun to work through - the sound and graphics come together very well. All in all, although this feels more like an 'expansion' to the original game, I'm really enjoying Buffy: Chaos Bleeds. Even if you're not a fan of the show (RIP), you'll want to pick this up if you like running around destroying baddies, especially with a dagger through their chest. Definitely recommended.
Very Fun Game

First of all one person stated that you have to stake your enemies, which is not true. When fighting with any weapon (except the crossbow)you can press the triangle button and it will thrust the weapon forward and dust your enemy.
The only things I did not like about this game is the camera views and the fighting. You have to move your character around to get a good view of where you are going sometimes. When fighting I noticed that your character will go off fighting after an enemy has moved and you have to let off the controls and let your character stop before you can try going after your enemy again. Those 2 things still did not hinder the fun of the game so much as for me to say "gee this game sucked!" I am also a Buffy fan so maybe that is why I liked it. All I know is I am not much for video games and I liked this one.
Finally, a licensed game that doesn't suck.

Chaos Bleeds captures the spirit of the tv series and is a very fun game to play. The only problem I had with the game was the camera problems (it doesn't take away from the gameplay), and the few save points. You can't save until you pass a level. Not good when you have to work in fifteen minutes. But other than that, the game is good. The controls are good, the weapons are decent, ranging from stakes to hell fire. The dialogue is funny and witty, with a lot of the cast supplying voice overs (Except for Sarah Michelle Gellar, Alyson Hannigan, Emma Caulfield, and a few others. At least they got James Marsters to reprise his role as Spike), You feel like you're The Slayer when you're playing this game. And you even get levels with Xander, Willow, Spike, even Faith and Sid The Dummy. Bottom line, if you're a gamer and a fan of the show, this is a good game to add to your collection, and it's only $20. So go get it.
A must if you're a fan

Anyone who is a fan of the show and doesn't play this game is missing out. In and of itself is a fun game and it's appeal increases from there based on how much you're into the series. It's made to be another episode of Buffy where the crew is transported to an alternate universe from which they have to find their way home. You'll encouter a number of characters from throughout the series and actually get to play as a number of them, including Buffy, Spike, Xander, that mannequin from the ventriloquist episode in the first season, and some others. I play a fair amount of video games and in terms of difficulty, I was able to complete it but didn't find it all that easy to do.

Ok this is my first review, guys, but I think this game is worth every second of my time, both playing it and supporting it via reviews and forums.
I bought this game for my son, he is a fan of the "Buffyverse" that consists of Angel and Buffy, as am I. I thought this would be a good opportunity for us to spend some time together playing something that we would both enjoy. I was right! This game is definitely worth the cash.
Sadly, when we moved, we lost track of the game and haven't found it but I just bought a used one here at amazon and it should be here in a few days. Amazon's products are always top notch as are many of the power sellers that sell the used products. Simply, if you are considering buying this game, I dont think youll be able to find one to rent so just buy it here for a few dollars more than the rental and even if you dont like it... Look up a CD-related recycling project like a CD collage and build one of those lol.
Now my son will take over and explain the finer points of the game because I just found it fun to play :P
Hey guys, this game is awesome. Vivendi really outdid theirselves this time... I have played many of their games and this is EASILY their best (not to insult them or anything, their others are good too >_>)
Gameplay - The gameplay is topnotch. I know you'll read some of the negative reviews of how willow and buffy dont sound exactly like themselves. Well Allison Hannigan and Sarah Michelle Gellar didnt do the voice acting because they were busy with other projects. I didnt find that this took away from the experience because I kind of got used to it after a few minutes.
I found this game to have a regular "search and return" basis with a beat 'em up aftertaste. By this, I mean that, like most action games, the whole premise of the game is pretty linear and you simply have to find items that link with other items/interactions to accomplish your goal. SO? The best part about this game is the combat system. It's so intuitive yet lets you control it. The camera is a little buggy at times but it only takes a minute to get the hang of it.
Really the only complaint I can muster would be that it was a little short for my tastes (even thought its like 20 hours on the hardest difficulty) but thats just because I liked it so much. Oh and my disc had a scratch from where I dropped it (not the games fault obviously) and it used to freeze on the third level when you take over willow for the second time (just a sad thought I would share with you lol)
Sound - Aside from the issues with voice acting with Buffy and Willow, this is where the game really shines. The acting is perfect, the script sounds just like something out of a Buffy episode, and you have to love the sound of a vamp dusting that you spend 2 minutes trying to pin down because there were three others knocking you down. (Again, I am a hardcore gamer and always play on the highest difficulties, its not nearly as hard as it sounds and its even easier on normal) The ambiance is nice but it doesnt overdo it... And the pitfall of every action game. You know those catch phrases that heroes use when they kill something? "You're dead... No... Really..." >_> If you havent memorized all of them by the end of the game? You must have short term memory loss. But you barely notice and you can always take your aggression out on the legions of the undead XD
Graphics - The characters look like their real life counterparts and the settings are spot on. Not much more to say here, OH when you dust a vamp for example, the monster dies in that position. Say you stake him in the middle of him kicking you... he dusts with his foot in the air =) That kind of attention to detail is why I love this game.
Replayability - The game doesnt have multiple plot lines or anything that would normally deem you wanting to replay the game. However, I found the combat so fun, and I LOVED using willow's spells, that I found myself coming back to the game over and over.
Summary - Buy it. Now. Its only 10 dollars. What else are you going to spend that on? A pizza? Starbucks? Do you really need those calories? (Not that sitting in front of a playstation is going to do any better for you lol) But do a few jumping jacks and do yourself a favor. Buy this game.
Later days!
This game is like a lost episode of Buffy!

This game is one of the best action/adventure games that I've played in a while. Decent controls, with a well rounded combat system for the slayer. A very interesting storyline which pulls you in, like being part of the show. Liked the behind-the-scenes extras, but I thought the multi-player could have been a little more detailed. Still, the game is plenty of fun, and the chance to play as several different characters kept things from getting repetitive. I'll defintely be looking for a sequel to this one.
