I bought this game to trial it for my cousin, who is around eight years old. The menus are simple enough. Barbie's voice is quite annoying and I was disappointed when I found out that you can't mute her. On to the game play...

No sooner than I started playing the game, it annoyed the heck out of me. You can't ride where you want to...the horse's movements are choppy and incorrect. You cannot name your horse. You have to pick a name on a list. There is nothing realistic about the actual riding experience, if you can call it that. A horse has more than two gaits of movement. The ones in the game, the canter and the gallop, are awkward, at best. And Barbie stops you every so often to make you look at animals or to do an activity. And then you have to stop riding at dusk where the trail ends into nothingness. Even grooming the horse, in this game, is ridiculous. The horse does not respond...maybe an occasional head nod...and you only clean and brush one side of the horse. What about picking out the hooves and combing away the burls and knots that are constantly in a real horse's coat, mane and tail. The pamplet that comes with the game says you can feed your horse but what about what comes out of the other end? Yeah...I know it's a kids game...but a horse is a horse...the manure does not just disappear.

All in all, this game was a MAJOR disappointment.

My 6 year old daughter and 9 year old son both love this game, and actually I think it's fun too! I can't imagine why anyone would think it's so terrible. My kids play it more than any of their other games!

Fub but hard in the end

My seven year old daughter loves this PC game. We have oodles of PC games and this is at the top of her list. She isn't even a Barbie doll fan. She has a couple of the dolls but never ever plays with them. This game is about the horses and the mystery that needs to be solved. She could play it for hours if I let her. Which of course being the responsible mother I don't.

Players get to be mystery solving sleuths when they need to find the disappearing horse before the big riding competion gets started. Girls(I am assuming a boy wouldn't be interested in this game, but I could be wrong) start off preparing their horse. This alone can take forever. My daughter loves picking out her chosen horse colors, mane, saddle, and then Barbie's riding attire as well. In my daughter's words it's just so hard to choose.

Then there is the brushing and care of the horse such as feeding and exercise. They can sharpen their riding skills by practicing at the riding ring by trotting, herding and jumping.

The clues to find Teresa horse are hidden around in the abandoned campsite, an old town, a cave and other fun places. Along the way during the adventure their are fun games to play to obtain items they might need later during the game.

So if you can't get a horse or riding lessons aren't feasible this just might appease your horse loving girl for a while.

The game rated E for everyone. The recommened age is five and up. I would say 5 to about 10 would the age range. Could be older. A game well worth the money.

Lots of fun (if you're 6)

I bought this for my 6-year old daughter and she loves it! I'm not a fan of all the nerve-wracking, blood-pressure raising, violent games out there and this is perfect. It's quiet fun with pleasant music and Barbie has a positive mission; to rescue horses. It teaches problem-solving, care and compassion for the animals.

interactive junk!

I'd rather watch Dragenball Z running backwards than play this game! There's a story, but it's stupid-- not borring stupid or funny stupid--just plane old box-of-rock stupid! Let's skip it, ok? Gameplay consists of Barbie collecting coins, opening chests, and useing her cell phone in the woods. And it's about as fun as it sounds. The thing that realy draws you out of the experience though is the fact that Barbie talks to you. This ruins the sense that you are the on-screen character. I gave it 1 star only because I couldn't give it 0 stars. And if you buy it you'll just be putting more money into the Barbie doll company's bank account.

ITS GREAT!!!!!!!

First off, there is a BIG problem with this game! All of the horses Need either four stockings, four socks, or none on their legs. Second, "Flash" and "Lightning" are BOY names but whenever Barbie pets either one of these two, She might say, "You're a good girl."

Third, this game is good, that it needs a sequel. But it must be better. You can make the horse of your dreams or the horse hero of your book (example, "Black Beauty"). It can let your horse have one or two or three white (or black) feet. Please let their be a sequel!!!

Someone please help me!

I've played the game, and even though it's easy and for kids I bought it anyway ($5, can't beat that). The thing I need help with is when you finally do find all the foals and can go through the gate into the Silver Valley Stables Gardens, where is the key to unlock the gate past all the skunks. I've opened all the chests, looked in the shed, and the water. I Can't find it ANYWHERE. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
