I am 11 years old and I do not like Barbie dolls or anything. But this game rocks even if you hate Barbie dolls. I was just looking for a horsey game to play cause I horseback ride. So I bought this one thinking that it would be boring. But boy was I wrong! I LOVE this game! You get to go on 9 different trails like 3 beach ones, 3 snowey ones and 3 forest ones. There is one last one for the end. In each trail you look for 6 foals and at the end of each trail you find a horse that you have to lasso up. The game also has mini games too! That I love to play. The pictures are really nice and it's cool how you go through obsitcle courses to find the foal. I love how you get to custimive you ( Barbie) and the horse. This is a great game for any horse lover even if they are too old for Barbie dolls. I recomend it for ages 7- 13!!!!

What's the big deal?

Really, i don't see why everyone is embarrased about this game. i'm a teen myself and yet, i still love any games that have to do w/ horse riding and even if Barbie is in it, i'll still play it. it should'nt matter on what character you play (in this case Barbie) but just as long as you have fun playing the game. personally, i have to give credit to all those people who are not embarrased to play this game. so really, what is the big deal? i admited that i liked it.

gentle fun

My granddaughter and I both love playing this game. I bought her one last year and we play it so much I bought one to keep at my house so we can both play it here also. You can change Barbies and her steeds appearance. Play several fun games that vary from races against the clock to races against other riders. I love exploring all the different terrain, my favorite is the beach. There are a few scary momments with bears, moose and even bunnies, but the challenges are fun. Collecting coins, treasure chest and other goodies along the way adds reward, finding the foals and returning them safe makes you feel good and catching the wild horses is a great adventure. I recommend this game for good gentle fun.

This is a great game!

This game is wonderful. The graphics are so intricate & beautiful. You can ride through a field while butterflies fly out of the long grass & your shadow follows behind you. And there is so much game play - each new trail is beautiful. The horses are pretty & you can customize them. Make sure to use your camera button because that is the most beautiful thing, you can ride front view or spin around & watch your horse from the side taking jumps & galloping. The sunlight even beams around you if you get the angle right. The riding action is great as well, if you back off on the speed with your controls you move from a fast gallop to a slower comfortable cantor. (One reviewer said the riding was not smooth but that is not true at all - I suspect the viewer did not know how to control the horse.) And the horses themselves react as they would in real life; back up or turn & your horses ears turn back as if he's paying attention. I can not say enough good things about this game. The other riding games pale in comparison. Get it and you will enjoy hours of riding through beautiful trails and feeling relaxed. If I had 1 critisim it is that I wish you could interact with the animals you meet on the trail (turtles, seals, etc) instead of having to avoid them. When you play try not to focus primarily on the tasks but enjoy the ride - when you see a field - run around a while in it instead of just running through, like wise on the beach - & you will love this game!!!

this game rocks!

I bought this for my 5 year olds birthday and she still loves it!! She plays it everyday. She loves to change horses and make them whatever color and style she likes. You also get to change Barbies outfits which is a plus. Even her 2 year old brother likes to watch her play! She'll even let him play in the mini-games which is 2 player. The graphics are great and it's easy for her to control. Nobody dies or gets hurt and it's all about helping horses. Great game in any parents book.

we LOVE this game!!

I have been a horse lover all my life and would have LOVED to have had a game like this when I was a kid! My 6 year old daughter and 4 year old son both enjoy it as much as I do... it isn't all that challenging for an adult, but the feeling of "riding" is very good with a little imagination! My daughter spends more of her time dressing barbie and making her horse look the way she wants while my son enjoys the tracking stuff down and feeding the various wild creatures. It was money well spent in our opinion, and every child who has visited our house and played it put it on their Santa list, even the boys!

Our 7 year old daughter loves it!

Purchased this game for our daughter for her 7th birthday (got a good review on GameZone.com). She loves it and so does her cousins. I even enjoyed playing the lasso game with her. Any girl who loves horses or Barbie would enjoy this game.
I know there are Barbie haters out there. Too bad, they are missing a fun game.

If you want a cute game for girls, get Mario Kart, not this

The title says it all. Obviously, this game was made for little girls, but there's better games out there that might appeal to girls without insulting their intelligence.

I'm actually exaggerating a bit, this game is not nearly as bad as it could have been. Most of the gameplay is built on riding your horse, which borrows a lot from the Zelda 64 riding engine. Once you get off your horse though to look for runaway horses, watch out. Barbie is slow on her feet and can't run, which can get very annoying. There are also side activities, like unlocking outfits and washing your horse, which is as rudimentary as using the cursor brush to move over a horse.

But overall this game sucks. If you want to buy a game for your sister/daughter/niece, get her a real game with quality gameplay, like Mario Kart: Double Dash or Super Monkey Ball.

This is a poor example of a Barbie game. My 7-year old daughter kept telling me to let her finish. She always wound up never finihing and having me literally drag her off the game. I would much rather her play another game. There is no way to end this game, as far as I know! My daughter beat most of the My Street games with ease. Plus, during the rare times when Barbie is off her horse, she walks at a snails pace. Barbie can never become a marathon runner!
My daughter, after about a month, grew bored of trying to beat the game and started playing her 14-year old brothers Medal Of Honor Frontline and Tony Hawk Underground. She had more fun playing them than Barbie Horse-whatever. Of course, I don't let her play them that much, because they are violent, but I DID buy her Jak and Daxter and Shaun Palmers Pro Snowboarder, and now, the Barbie game is in the back of the DVD and Video Game rack.
I had bought it for her because she was always a tomboy and competitive and was playing her brother's more violent games. But maybe I went to the extremes. She never even liked Barbie, but I thought the video game was different. How very wrong I was! Please don't buy this game for your daughter unless she is absolutely DIE-HARD for Barbie!!!!!!!!!
