It is a good game. Amazon is incorrect however in their system requirements listing. You must have 64MB of Ram to play this game, or it does not run properly.

My husband and I really enjoy this game, I would really give it a 4 1/2 star rating. I enjoy everything about the game exceot for the attack form. Instead of a systematic plan of attack, it just seems like a free for all, or a cluster .... Other than that I would recommend this game to anybody who enjoys feeling a little goosepimply when they are playing, because they are not quite sure just what lies around the next corner in the game.

As you see, one can write ever so many good things about this beauty of a RPG/Adv. game, yet i will keep this simple....
There is only one drawback when it comes to this game... you'll almost fear the sunlight after entering the role of the Vampire.
This game is simply stunning, both gfx and gameplay wise, the plot enthralls you and will keep you by your screen for hours and days. This game defently shatters the Diablo monopoly on 3rd person RPG/Adv.... By far the best I've ever played
Are thy still in my presence.. heck run and check if the game arrived in the mail!!!

I've either owned or played just about every RPG title made. Live-action, table-top/dice-n-paper. This one is the best non-e-game title converted to PC I've ever seen. When I bought it, it was a pre-order ... and it was worth it at that price. Now at the current price it is a steal. Plus there are about a gig worth of downloads to get on the web for the multi-player ode. One flaw is you may need to download the version 1.1 patch if you get the version 1.0.
too many problems with online multiplayer(DON'T WORK)

The game is fine if you just want to play single player or over a LAN. Online multiplayer apparently is no longer supported in any form or manner. Activision does not even give answers to problems with online either. The official activision website for this game; The links do not work. The game has been abandoned by the manufacturer, developers and everyone it seems. Save your money and don't support activision. Don't buy this game if you could ever possibly want to play it online with friends. Cuz you can't.

I am a huge fan of the pencil and paper RPG, and was very excited to see this conversion. In the interests of simplifying the game (why would you want to I do not know), the creators modified the experience-point and atribute steps. They have also included Diablo-style magic weapons and items, the effects of which are more subtle than those in Diablo, but somehow detract from the WoD mood.
In good news, the vampiric disciplines are converted almost flawlessly (except for why do Brujah have protean???), and in this aspect the game far surpasses its successor, Vampire the Masquerade bloodlines.
The game is split up somewhat unevenly between dungeon crawl-type sequences and dialogues that serve to advance a complicated and well-written story line. You get relatively litle control of the dialogues and their outcomes, and as previously mentioned, combat is just a mess. Party members unleash their most powerful disciplines on rats and spiders attacking them, and are constantly clamoring for blood. This would have been resolved if there was a way to pause the combat and issue orders, instead of leaving everything to the piss-poor AI.
The new patch corrected the problems with save-games, but combat is poorly executed, and since it makes up 90% of this game, it can be very frustrating. By the end I would just cast presence, draw the baddies one-by one, and drain them. This is a repetitive and booring process, especially in the context of the well developed skill trees that the characters have.
The graphics definately stand the test of time, and are very creative in some ways. Look closely in the silver mines: the texture of the walls is not just stone, but is actually evil faces staring back at you- very unusual and kind of creepy. Its also quite fun viewing the world from first-person perspective.
With the ability to pause combat this game would have been great. As such it is a fine product with much time and energy obviously invested into its development, but which is difficult to play and like, despite the engrossing story line.
Incredible Game!

One word -- WOW. This game rocks. Period. I got it two days ago and can't pull myself away from the computer. The graphics are amazing, the storyline is fantastic, and the gameplay is smooth and addicting. A must buy. Highly recommended.
It captures gothic roleplaying very well.

I found this game very worthly of the genre. The graphics are among the best, and it's not as gory as you are led to believe. The single person game is unique, and full of story plot. The various puzzles in the game are challenging but not overly difficult, and the creators did a good job in trying to bring the entire VAMPIRE game to the computer. It is a fun game. On the down side, you must go into a different area or find a certian scroll in order to save the game, which can be a problem and frustrating at times. I also wish that the game could have come with the ability to print out the characters you make in the multi-player games. All in all - Not bad.

I have and Intel 366 Celeron on the i810 chipset. I only expected average results form my average system but this game will not work at all with the i810! Once you go into Prague(2nd act) the game goes into grey block. It wont even work on the lowest pixel setting! Activision has yet to tell me how to remedy this. I bet their answer will be to shell out $200 for a add on card. Don't buy unless you have a power system. Screw you Activison, I'll stick with game engines (like lithtech)that work cross platform!
