This game is awesome! I've played Q3 and it doesn't compare. While Q3's graphics are certainly more intense, (especially the brutal blood splattering) UT focuses more on the level design and all around online gaming fun. I'm finding that my copy of Q3 is gathering dust, while UT has a nice home in my cd-rom drive!

Yes, Q3 is a great game, and yes, the skins are good, and yes, the gameplay is great. But UT goes above and beyond, with fantastic looking levels, more types of gameplay, MUCH better weapons (x2 if you count the alternate firing), and in general, just a better "feeling." The action is just as fast, but playing against the UT bots is more more realistic than playing the Q3 bots. UT bots are much smarter, and will actually help you increase your skill. UT rules.

I've always thought that Quake 3 Arena will dominate the FPS gameing industry this year, but boy was I wrong. From no where comes Unreal Tournament, a game that can challenge Q3A, (game play or graphics wise) perhaps surpass it. (gotta wait till the full Q3A comes out and see) But for now, UT has better weapons than Q3, better mods. Level wise, even tho UT doesn't have the smooth curvey surfaces in Q3, but the levels are just so damn fun and nice looking. Quake 3 full version is gona have to work hard to top this one, or this could be the game of the year imo

I've been playing Unreal tournament for a couple weeks, and it's a pretty fun game. Decent graphics, decent gameplay, decent sound, but I don't rate it 5 stars (like I did with Quake 3) simply because it's missing that incredible, undescribable, "in-the-game-like" feeling that you get when you're playing Quake 3. If you want a fun game, get this game. If you want to have so much fun that you'll be glued to your monitor for 8 consecutive hours, get Quake 3 Arena.

How on earth people think this is better than Quake 3. Quake 3 and Unreal are a non comparison. I just feel sorry for the poeple that are wasting their money on this instead of Quake because of all this hype. Terrible game.

oh man wat can i say about this game, uhm i got it....ITS AWESOME, this game is the most entertaining game i know. there are a ton of places where u can fight and quite a selection of weapons. i was hesitated to buy this game cuz i thought it might not be good, but it is, the best.

Unreal Tournament (UT) vs. Quake 3: Arena (Q3): I've played them both for some weeks now, and the conclusion is that UT is by far the best. It's two great games, but UT just have more "bite". The maps are much, much better made, and the bots are more intelligent. The graphics and sound are more or less the same, it's just a matter of taste.
But here is the (so far) ultimate 3D Shooter, and is not going to be made any better for long.

No questions on this one. Get this game. If you are into multiplayer fragfest then this game is for you. You can play single player on it too so you can sharpen your skills for the real killers online. Take it from me. There are a lot of players out there who are soooooo good at this game. Graphics: Oh yesssss! The Unreal Engine does it again! Interface: the only thing missing is a button to heat your pizza. Gameplay: I love the smell of burning pixels in the evening. Non-stop action online. This game relies not just a quick finger but a good strategy mind too. Comes in several game types: Deathmatch, CTF, Assault, Domination, Last Man Standing.Go for multiplayer. It's what this game was made for. AI: I thought somebody was inside my computer hard case holding a mouse and playing against me. Overall: Get this game, lock your room till you score 200 points. By the way, this game comes with the Unreal Editor again just like the first one. Try learning to use this editor. It's very user-friendly!
