Ok let me get something out to all you who complained about it. This is the first giant online rpg and its the best. The new 3d will get better as tiem goes on. I played uo for 4 years, got a 2 story house. I had the most fun ever. I played EQ, spent atleast a 100 hours of time on chars just for the hell of playing a rpg. Now me i hate eq, no fun! AC i heard was great but unbalanced and everything. If you want a classic game get UO its the best. I have a 56k modem think i play 3d? If you want dungeon crawling and camping rats go to EQ!! If you want the greatest gameplay come on to UO ive gotten atleat 20 friends addicted to uo!

You guys are crazy...

Well...i just gotta say in origins defence...this game rocks, the graphics are FINE. This game wasn't made for graphics it was made for good online play. some may say it's a bit laggy, but with my cable modem it works just fine...You guys dont understand how much increasing the graphics will increase the lag. they did that on purpose. And the game is hard to learn cause they added so many cool features...you guys complain way to much. Cool off, actually take the time to appreciate the game, maybe get a house, join a guild, or a faction, i like boats ^_^. Just give it a chance.

Best game in world

I love this game. It has al of the best creatures, Monsters, and animals. This is unlike any game ive played it has updated graphics and very well designed animation. I felt as if i was really there. My compliments to the creator. This game is easily understandable and can be operated by a fairly efficient computer person.

Needs some work, but has great promise!

I have been playing UO for 2 years, since BEFORE the PVP/NON-PVP land split. I also participated in the BETA test for Third Dawn. I beleive that the 3D client can only get better with every patch (yes, it does mean lengthy patches to download). It is a version of a LONG STANDING online role-playing game that has great promise (IF OSI DELIVERS). Be patient, I beleive it will surpass everyones expectations. I also believe it wasn't ready for retail yet.

Are we playing the same game?

I have maybe the most pathetic system in existence, a P2 350 MHz. And the performance is great, bogging down only a bit when there are a dozen or more players around. I don't crash much either; in fact, I don't think UO3D has crashed on me in over a week. I think most of the reviewers are UO:R users who installed the patch, didn't bother updating their drivers, then played it for two hours. I've been playing the 3D client almost exclusively for a few weeks now. It's faster, more stable, and prettier than the old client.

Now all of that is a comparison. I don't actually think that's the right way to talk about this product at all...

Ultima Online has been the deepest of the MMRPGs. None of the games on the market come even close to that. You can bake bread, hunt monsters without much fear from other players, sew leather tunics, make weapons, enter a guild war, disguise yourself and spy on "enemy" groups, enter faction wars, *choose* to PK or fight PKs...

There's nothing even close. And it kind of saddens me, because I'd love for it to have some real competition.

Excellent game.

This add-on is awesome! Origin (the game's creator) takes the game another step further with new lands, new monsters, new items, and best of all 3D graphics.

The new lands have a theme of exploration. No recalling/gating can be used in these new lands, so you must explore by foot. This makes things much more fun for everyone.

New items include samuri weapons and armor. Plus, new craftable items!

Along with your avatar, all the monsters have been redone in 3D. Plus with the new additions like Pixies and Centuars.

Also, UO:3D adds TWO new ridable creatures! The Kirin and the Unicorn. Both possess special abilites!

Do yourself a favor and by this game. Its well worth it.

Great game becoming greater...

I have no idea why but most of these responses are negative. I have been playing uo for about a week and i am hooked. I guess most of these people don't have a good enough computer to see the good quality graphics. My computer has no problems and runs the game very fast, whout any lag. Get a better computer and stop complaining uo is a great game.

Too addictive for my own good...

Contrary to what many say, and what I use to say, pay-to-play is definitely the way to go. It weeds out most of the immature children and maintains a lovely online community. The game it self is one of the most addictive I have ever played. With mass possibilities as to what you can be in the game (Warrior, Mage, Healer, Blacksmith, Tailor, Ranger, etc), you will find it is hard to get bored with this game. The online community you will find is one of the most lovely out there. The people are friendly and immaturity is highly frowned upon. People will give you a helping hand and if you have a want, there are many who will help you fill it. There are two versions on this disc, 3D and 2D. Many old-schoolers will tell you 2D is the way to go with less lag, but I prefer 3D and if you play, you will see why. Either way, you can't complain when they let you have your choice.

I love this game!!

I have played Ultima Online for 5 years now, starting out when i was 8. I started out with Third Dawn and i was addicted to it, eyes glued to screen and mouth wide open when i saw the graphics. You have many choices in what career path you choose, and unlike most games you can change the path you take and try something new out instead. You have so many choices that (for me) its hard to choose. Mages, warriors, blacksmiths, tailors, rangers, ect. You name it, it will probably be in there. In Ultima Online you can alter your appearance, from brown hair to green hair in a second using hair dye. There are many clothe and armor choices so if you get bored with your appearance, well, change it! Weapons of diffrent choice are also there, so you can always have a more powerful weapon. The people are there to help, and you will most likely find someone that you can get along with. There are guilds, which are like clubs almost, that you can join, whether its because you want the title or because your friends with a guildmember. This game does take patience and hard work though, so if your the kind of person that likes to go through a game in 2 days or less, i think that this game might not be the right one for you. Theres so many places to explore, from woods to deserts, dungeons to islands, cities to deserted villages, theres always somewhere new to explore. Monsters and enemies are of diffrent varities, so you'll never get bored with killing them. This game is great and i highly suggest that you buy Ultima Online, whether its Mondains Legacy (newest version out) our Third Dawn. (but i suggest the newest version out more)
