Excellent game.

This add-on is awesome! Origin (the game's creator) takes the game another step further with new lands, new monsters, new items, and best of all 3D graphics.

The new lands have a theme of exploration. No recalling/gating can be used in these new lands, so you must explore by foot. This makes things much more fun for everyone.

New items include samuri weapons and armor. Plus, new craftable items!

Along with your avatar, all the monsters have been redone in 3D. Plus with the new additions like Pixies and Centuars.

Also, UO:3D adds TWO new ridable creatures! The Kirin and the Unicorn. Both possess special abilites!

Do yourself a favor and by this game. Its well worth it.

More indepth than EQ and AC put together! Many many skills!

I have played EQ and AC and started UO 5 months ago. I must say UO is awesome. The graphics aren't that great (especially when compared to Everquest but the gameplay, the skills you can do in UO are awesome. If you are just into killing monsters and pretty graphics, superficial gameplaying, then you should not try UO. UO is a game requiring indepth gameplay and planning. You can mine or log trees to sell to smiths and carpenters or you can take up a trade to sell swords or forges to other players. Or you can be a mage making scrolls for sale or you may just want to grab a sword and go slashing many monsters. All in all UO is a great game because of the level of interaction you have with the world (much more than EQ or AC will allow you) and the players are (on the most part) friendly and helpful. A must buy! Yes the game does crash and there are problems with installation sometimes BUT it will all be worked out within a few months and if you stick to the 2D lands (and not go into Ilshenar) you will still love the game! I do not plan on using the 3D client until a few more months when more bugs are fixed but right not the 2D client is more than enough for me!

Try it, don't let the naysayers stop you

I run uo third dawn on a rather antiquated system. P2 400, Win 98, Rage 128 (32 megs)one of the video cards that supposedly had trouble with the game. I found all I had to do was download the special drivers and I really have no trouble running this game on my system.

For the most part it runs lag free, I don't crash (maybe once in the last 10 gaming sessions)the graphics are alright, they can be improved, but that is what this new client gives to UO, the ability to easily add new items, monsters, lands etc. Which the 2d client doesn't give this ability.

uo down the drain

I participated in the Beta testing. I think people need to remember that there is a reason why it was called "beta testing." The game right now is still not fully developed... but, it has a huge amount of potential. Ultima Online and UO the second age were greatly improved through the use of patches. The same thing will happen to UO: Third Dawn. The use of 3D by Ultima is clearly a good step towards making UO one of the longest continual games in history. This game will not disapoint anyone who is a little patient at the start.

WORST GAME EVER READ THIS

This game started out being the best game ever created. Keywords in that sentence were "STARTED OUT" I was loving the game, getting rich about to get married and loving it all the same. As you most likely know this game is across the internet so like anything else that means it could get hacked and almost anyone who has played could tell you about there experience with that happening to them. In my case some loser hacked it and did some horrible things to some of my best friends. And got me to a place I wasnt aloud. Then whoever the heck it was decided to write me up (...) and now I am banned from the game until I can get the IP address changed but then Im not wasting (the money) so someone can take everything I worked my rear-end off and enjoy for themselves. Besides the fact of getting hacked, it isn't worth (the price). (...)DONT BUY WASTE OF TO MUCH MONEY GO BUY CIVILIZATION 3 a truly good game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great game becoming greater...

I have no idea why but most of these responses are negative. I have been playing uo for about a week and i am hooked. I guess most of these people don't have a good enough computer to see the good quality graphics. My computer has no problems and runs the game very fast, whout any lag. Get a better computer and stop complaining uo is a great game.

Too addictive for my own good...

Contrary to what many say, and what I use to say, pay-to-play is definitely the way to go. It weeds out most of the immature children and maintains a lovely online community. The game it self is one of the most addictive I have ever played. With mass possibilities as to what you can be in the game (Warrior, Mage, Healer, Blacksmith, Tailor, Ranger, etc), you will find it is hard to get bored with this game. The online community you will find is one of the most lovely out there. The people are friendly and immaturity is highly frowned upon. People will give you a helping hand and if you have a want, there are many who will help you fill it. There are two versions on this disc, 3D and 2D. Many old-schoolers will tell you 2D is the way to go with less lag, but I prefer 3D and if you play, you will see why. Either way, you can't complain when they let you have your choice.

Excellent Addition to an Excellent Game.

UO:3D is a great addition to UO. It adds new items, a new land to explore, and best of all 3D graphics. Seeing your avatar in 3D is probably one of the coolest things you could ever experience.

Also added in are new gestures such as wave, applaud, point, and many many more. If you own UO, do yourself a favor and BUY THIS ADDITION. If you don't own the original UO, do yourself a favor and buy it. :)
