I agree, the first 30 minutes of the game is rather tough, but that is just becuase some of her moves are new and the play isn't all about pushing and pulling objects...you have to think this time out. I have finished the first 3 and I think this one is the best since the first...all except for it's lighting. You will prolly have to turn the bright level on your tv up, unless you want to walk around with Flares all day. This game was a must buy for me and I am enjoying every penny of it. It has grabbed my attention away from resident evil:3...so you know its good!
Did I mention that you get to play as a teenage Lora? Just that open sequence is worth the money!
Absolutely Fantastic!

OK, so I'm a longtime Tomb Raider fan, so my opinions may be a bit biased, but this is the *best* Tomb Raider game since the original. I generally liked all the sequels, but TR 2 seemed way too difficult and frustrating in some sections, while #3 was rather disjointed in all the globe-trotting Lara had to endure. Last Revelation, however, is a true gem. The gorgeous and plentiful FMV CGI sequences give the game a cohesive and compelling storyline that was lacking in TR 3. The puzzles are clever and inventive, and certainly solvable with a modicum of thought employed on the part of the player. This isn't a brain-dead "run and shoot" Quake-type game. Some complain it's too dark.. well, of course it's dark in spots! She's in ruins and tombs! Light a flare or torch for heaven's sake! The flares certainly are plentiful.
That being said, the game isn't perfect. I wish Eidos/Core spent more time working out some frustrating bugs, such as when she swims she sometimes gets "stuck" in spots, as if there's an invisible wall blocking her way. There's a patch for some of the more prominent bugs, but this swimming one remains. Second, some of the sound in the FMV sequences is too soft. However, it's still a *great* game. I highly recommend it. :) I hope they do as well with Tomb Raider 5.
Simply Perfect!

One of the most popular playstation game character's has arrived again with another great tomb raider game. This is one of my favourite games and is definitely one of the hardest games on playstation. This is the last and hardest tomb raider game on playstation. It has excellent 3d graphics and realistic backgrounds.
There are many fun levels in this game including the train level, car level, and many other levels. Me and my friends love this game! If you like games like all tomb raider games, duke nukem, die hard, and tomorrow never dies you'll love this game!
You have to buy it, and trust me you'll love it!
The best in the series!

It's become popular to hate Tomb Raider after how Eidos has milked the franchise, but this is a fantastic game! I loved the original game, was severely disappointed with the second one, and had mixed feelings about the third. But Core Design got it right this time, returning the focus exploration rather than combat. In some respects, the game might seem too easy (I died only about three times on the first three levels), but that just makes it all the more playable. The challenge is in the puzzles, not the combat (the fights will rarely be much of a challenge), and that's the way it should be. The puzzles this time around are far more varied than in the past, no longer relying solely on pushing blocks and pulling levers. Fortunately, they're also logical (for the most part), and I managed to get through more than half of the game before I really needed to look at a walkthrough.
The graphics are also a huge improvement, with great lighting effects and some of the best textures I've yet to see in a 3D game. The new smooth-skin technology makes Lara look more believable than ever.
The ending may surprise fans of the series, but it's a good one, and Core Design cleverly avoided ending the game with another major shoot-out against your arch-nemesis. This is actually the first game in the series that has a real sense of story, and it works well.
If you enjoyed the first Tomb Raider, even just slightly, you must buy this game! Core Design has said this would be the last in the series, but I recently heard there will be another out by Christmas 2000. Let's hope they keep up the good work.

I have played Tomraiders II and III. I can't tell you enough how great this new version is. What I find more interesting this game are the cut screens at different times in the game. Also, Lara moves so much better, and I love the fact she can traverse around corners. The lighting..the detail is breathtaking. I am only on part three...but am enjoying every minute I play. The walkthrough when Lara was a teen was great. It's also great that she is talking to others in the game. The wait for this version was well worth it. They just keep getting better. I was also glad that I didn't have to learn alot of new moves and weapons. I dreaded the thought actually. I feel comfortable going into new terain this game. I like the way she enters her vehicles...opening doors and having to have keys to operate them. She actually has to open doors to get out too. Its more real to life. I will just keep being a Tombraider player as long as they make them.
Great Game! No problems on XP, smooth graphics/Great story

This is one of the most toruble free, best role playing game ever. I love the Egyptian Content, and I feel that THIS Tomb Raider game is perfect for any level of play. There are walkthroughs on the net if you get "stuck" and can't figure out a certain puzzle. Like all the Tomb Raiders, what I like best is the LENGTH of the game. This will be the best $15 you ever spent!
GRAPHICS ARE THE BEST!

The game starts off easy, and the movies and graphics are the best out there. They loose a little towards the last two levels, about t3 qaulity. The game does get frustrating in the last levels because of having to go back and forth. I reccomend getting cheats off the net,and doing a walk through. Some levels are very difficult to figure out while some are so simple they are right under your nose, but you can still miss them. I reccomend because it still keeps the Tomb raider challenge. The water tunnels are not good,if you make too sharp a turn you cant turn around and get stuck,Computer glitch.Just save before you try something. You will like the game.Excellent job on the tombs, spent hours just looking around,Beautiful.Link to walk through below.Had to use cheats ,i ran out of health paks!

I usually do not like tombraider games, but my friends told me that it was a great game so i bought it anyway. This game suprised me so much. It was so much better then the other tomb raiders. The description and 3d of this game is great. I play this game for hours strate. This tombraider is hard, but that is what makes it such a great game. You do not even need and gold for this game because it is fun and long. I love it

I love these games. I love the detail that the creators put into the bit maps. The level designs have always been detailed and deluxe. I think the animals are the best in any computer game ever. I love the way the solution to the puzzles is not always to open the door, but often to enter through a hole in the roof, or a crack in the foundation, or to climb a statue. (I think park rangers must hate these games.) And this is all true of all the Tomb Raider games. The most common complaint is that TR IV is the same as TR I with a few added features. Fine with me. I loved Tomb Raider, and so far, I love the latest one. And after all, Tony Hillerman, for example, keeps churning out his Chee and Leaphorn books, and people don't say "Gee, why doesn't he do one with Chee fighting Aliens". My only complaint, if I have one, is that I enjoyed the globe hopping aspect of the earlier games, and I was a little disappointed to hear that part IV takes place only in Egypt. But it is a gorgeous version of Egypt and I'm going to be sad when this one ends.

I absolutely love this game. I loved the Egyptian themes. I spent hours trying to figure out the puzzles. I was on the edge of my seat everytime a cut away played. I couldn't wait to see what happen next. This game is very complex and you really need to pay attention to every level and every piece of artwork or you will be stuck in levels like I was. BUT!!! That is the beauty of the game. You can not sit down and beat this game in couple of hours. Well..maybe some of you could, but definitely not everyone. It is so complex. This is the ultimate TR game!
