This is one of the most toruble free, best role playing game ever. I love the Egyptian Content, and I feel that THIS Tomb Raider game is perfect for any level of play. There are walkthroughs on the net if you get "stuck" and can't figure out a certain puzzle. Like all the Tomb Raiders, what I like best is the LENGTH of the game. This will be the best $15 you ever spent!
The best in the series!

It's become popular to hate Tomb Raider after how Eidos has milked the franchise, but this is a fantastic game! I loved the original game, was severely disappointed with the second one, and had mixed feelings about the third. But Core Design got it right this time, returning the focus exploration rather than combat. In some respects, the game might seem too easy (I died only about three times on the first three levels), but that just makes it all the more playable. The challenge is in the puzzles, not the combat (the fights will rarely be much of a challenge), and that's the way it should be. The puzzles this time around are far more varied than in the past, no longer relying solely on pushing blocks and pulling levers. Fortunately, they're also logical (for the most part), and I managed to get through more than half of the game before I really needed to look at a walkthrough.
The graphics are also a huge improvement, with great lighting effects and some of the best textures I've yet to see in a 3D game. The new smooth-skin technology makes Lara look more believable than ever.
The ending may surprise fans of the series, but it's a good one, and Core Design cleverly avoided ending the game with another major shoot-out against your arch-nemesis. This is actually the first game in the series that has a real sense of story, and it works well.
If you enjoyed the first Tomb Raider, even just slightly, you must buy this game! Core Design has said this would be the last in the series, but I recently heard there will be another out by Christmas 2000. Let's hope they keep up the good work.
Retains the visual flair, but you bog down too often.

As I've said in other reviews of this series, the first one is the best. It wasn't needlessly difficult, and the puzzles made sense.
I just played through the first few areas of the last revelation, and to my disgust eidos has not fixed the problems that first appeared in tomb raider two and became rampant in tomb raider three.
puzzles are okay, PUZZLES IN WHICH YOU CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHAT YOU NEED TO DO, OR CANNOT FIND OBSCURE ITEMS BECAUSE YOUR BRIGHTNESS IS TOO LOW, OR THE ITEMS AREN'T LOGICALLY CONNECTED TO THE PROBLEM AT HAND ARE NOT OKAY.
the series still looks great, but frustrating backtracks and endless wandering looking for the hidden button have consistently robbed this series of the splendor we saw in the first incarnation. Remember just wandering through the lost valley or jumping into the waterfall over and over again? If that level was redesigned under the current standards, you would have to endlessly reload the game because the waterfall kills you and you have to hit a button on the way down which you don't know is there and can't see so that a door half a mile away opens up. And there's no reason to think a button a will even open the door.
I refuse to play a game with a hint guide on my lap. Guns and ammo are way too hard to find otherwise. I gave this game one more shot at recapturing my interest in the series. I guess I'm done with Lara, which is a shame because I've really loved the series.
GRAPHICS ARE THE BEST!

The game starts off easy, and the movies and graphics are the best out there. They loose a little towards the last two levels, about t3 qaulity. The game does get frustrating in the last levels because of having to go back and forth. I reccomend getting cheats off the net,and doing a walk through. Some levels are very difficult to figure out while some are so simple they are right under your nose, but you can still miss them. I reccomend because it still keeps the Tomb raider challenge. The water tunnels are not good,if you make too sharp a turn you cant turn around and get stuck,Computer glitch.Just save before you try something. You will like the game.Excellent job on the tombs, spent hours just looking around,Beautiful.Link to walk through below.Had to use cheats ,i ran out of health paks!

I absolutely love this game. I loved the Egyptian themes. I spent hours trying to figure out the puzzles. I was on the edge of my seat everytime a cut away played. I couldn't wait to see what happen next. This game is very complex and you really need to pay attention to every level and every piece of artwork or you will be stuck in levels like I was. BUT!!! That is the beauty of the game. You can not sit down and beat this game in couple of hours. Well..maybe some of you could, but definitely not everyone. It is so complex. This is the ultimate TR game!

I usually do not like tombraider games, but my friends told me that it was a great game so i bought it anyway. This game suprised me so much. It was so much better then the other tomb raiders. The description and 3d of this game is great. I play this game for hours strate. This tombraider is hard, but that is what makes it such a great game. You do not even need and gold for this game because it is fun and long. I love it

I caught on to the fervor, and succumbed to the advertising blitz for this game. I was very disappointed. The graphics are good, but that should be expected for a game in 1999, when considering other 1st/3rd person games like Half-Life or Unreal. With a half-decent plot, this game could have been better, but the steep learning curve and secrets too subtle to be found without a guide turned me off immediately. I uninstalled it today and am back to playing Broodwars, out 40 bucks. Learn from my mistake and avoid this "game."
I Hope you like the creepy undead... They're EVERYWHERE!

Being a big fan of the Tomb Raider Series, I bought the Millenium Editon of this game near when it first came out. When I played it, the graphics were stunning. Lara looked great, as always, but I think she looked better in Tomb Raider II and III. Nevertheless, she is still visually pleasing sue to the single-skin technology given to her(meaning, her arms and legs do not look disconnected). My main problem with this game are the enemies and the difficulty level. An adjustable level of difficulty, maybe from easy to hard, would have been great for beginners and people who wanted a full challenge... but oh well. If you don't like to deal with mummies, crusader skeletons, zombies, and ghosts, forget it. That's the main theme you have to encounter, and it will freak out sqeamish gamers such as myself. Otherwise, sit back and play Tomb Raider 2, the most "live" game there is.
Second only to TR2!!

I loved this game! It was fairly easy, the graphics were excellent, and the storyline made the most sense of all the TR games. The best levels were KV5, The Lost Library, and Sphinx Complex. I only like TR2 better because it was my first glimpse into the wonderful world of Lara Croft and I have the most fond memories of it. But I definitely recommend this game to every TR fan. Keep a box of tissues handy for the last FMV!

Ordered TR4 Last Revelation recently via Amazon and dealdealdeal.com. Great price, very good deal, so good had me doubting I'd be receiving a factory fresh copy. Well sure enough I did receive such quality, although it did take a full two weeks to arrive, towards the end of which period I was getting a bit antsy. All is forgiven, though, brand new software that really rocked. I started the TR series earlier this year when TR5 was bundled in with some hardware we purchased. Loved it and couldn't see how it could get any better, but this product TR4 is far better, much more cohesive plot and a real adventure you never want to end, and it is quite long and at times it appears it just might not ever end! Took me a full week to get through it in real time, nearly twenty four hours of combined time at the PC, and that's with using a walkthrough. Couldn't imagine how long it would've taken without one! Highly recommend this product, I've now done TR3, TR4, TR5 and TR6, and this one (TR4) was the most enjoyable in my opinion.
