Just like its predecessor, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is best experienced on a PC. The addition of high-resolution graphics, improved control, and custom skins and soundtracks help make one of the best games of 2002 even better. Nobody who has even remotely followed video games needs an introduction to the GTA series. Love it or hate it, GTA 3 single-handedly put Rockstar Games on the map, and for good reason - the game is a masterpiece in every sense of the word, and its appeal transcends its violent subject matter to reveal one of the most enriching gameplay experiences ever created.
Rather than start from scratch and reinvent the series like the third installment, Vice City instead expands on the strengths that made GTA 3 such a killer app. All the violent action, antics, and activities from 3 are back in full effect, only this time; it all takes place in the seedy underworld of the 1980's. There are loads of new gameplay additions as well, such as helicopters, motorcycles, and the ability to build your own criminal syndicate as the game progresses. But you already knew that. What you want to know is how the game differs from the PS2 version. Well, it has better - MUCH better - graphics and aiming, custom soundtracks, and the ability to create skins. Other than that, there is relatively nothing changed from the PS2 source. The small glitches where you would lose health after stepping off some small ledges such as sidewalks seem to have been somewhat remedied, but there is no extra content, and that is a shame. I am not suggesting that there should be an expansion pack's worth of extra material in the game, or that it should even tie into the main story. Still, one or two extra "strings" of exclusive optional missions would have been a nice nod to those who have waited for this, the superior version of a fine, fine game. Where's the love, Rockstar? Another gripe is the continued lack of mod tools. GTA 3 proved that there is an extensive community just waiting to put real life buildings, cars, and structures into the game, and possibly recreate whole towns. To deny us this pleasure is just wrong, and I can damn sure knock the game a few points for it. Tack on a few bucks to the game for the mod tools, guys. Anything. If you're going to take the time to perfect multiplayer, by all means, do it. But please, give us the ability to mod. Despite those two major complaints, GTA Vice City is still one of, if not the best game money can buy. It feels right at home on a PC, and is worth playing all over again. Even if you have played the original, sell your PS2 copy, pick up a used PC one on Ebay or Amazon with the cash from that, and get ready to do the Lance Vance Dance all over again.

I find this game very enjoyable to play. Its just as good as GTA III if not better. It has excellent detailed 3D graphics and animation. One thing I like about this game is the fact it allows the player to do so many different things and go anywhere in the huge 3D city environment. I also really like the fact the game can be customized and its highly modifiable with substitute car models, player models, and pedestrian models.
With that said, the game has very explicit violent content. Therefore, I don't think this game is suitable for children at all. I'd only recommend this game to mature responsible adults who are not sensitive to its explicit violent content and have sense enough to know this is only a game and understand they should not commit these acts of violence in reality. The violence doesn't really bother me and I would have personally given it five stars as far as my taste goes. As an honest person however, I only gave this game an overall rating of three stars because the violence content may offend some people.

Don't bother buying this game unless you have at least 256 MB RAM; you'll need a good graphics card, too. Otherwise, driving and even running will overwhelm your computer, leaving you at a standstill waiting for your computer to catch up (in which case, you'd be better off with the PS2 version, which runs seamlessly).
Beyond that, the graphics are terrific, the missions are fun, driving is cooler than in racing games I've played, and the game provides infinite possibilities, giving you the freedom to choose missions, explore, and really mess around. A must for any gamer old enough to buy it!
What Else can be said about such a famous, great, game?

You've undoubtly heard of the Grand Theft Series. You also can't deny you've seen reports complaning of it's extreme, yet cartoony violence. Hopefully, you've also at some time seen it in spectacular action. So, what else can be said of the game that even Time Magazine called a,"Work Of Art"?
Not Much, except that anyone who hasn't played it etiher dosen't own a Playstaion or PC, or is probally crazy. That, or a conservative politaican.
This game is fun, full of amazingly good stroytelling, and just really never ends. So, What the Heck are you waiting for, buy it, rent it, whatever. Just Play It!

GTA 3 vice city is a combination of all the best things about videogames. The story is interesting, the missions are challenging and often hilarious and the action is intense. It is hard to be bored while playing a game with such excellent graphics and the best soundtrack in the history of videogames. You can spend endless hours moving up in the criminal world, or just roam vice city in a huge selection of cars causing mayhem. This has got to be my favorite game of all time.
Totally Excellent

I would advise anyone out there to go and purchase this game immediatly. Not only is the game play amazing, but the conversion from PS2 to PC was done much better that it was done with GTA3. I love this game, and that is odd considering I never play video games. But this one has truly captivated me.
Pretty entertaining.

I originally gave this game a negative review, because I never gave it a chance. But now that I've gotten a little older i've come to appreciate it. It is very entertaining...nothing is more entertaining than shooting down cops. But that's not really the best part about it. It is just hands down a all-around entertaining game. I haven't really tried the missions yet though...so I cant be sure if those are good or not...but from what I've seen they look pretty fun.
If you liked this game on ps2 and xbox you will love it on a PC.

For those of you that don't know about this game(all 3 of you)it's about a young up and coming mobster goon named Tommy that is fresh out of the pen.He is sent to Vice city to make new friends and influence people in the only way he knows how, with a hammer and a gun.The mob in Liberty city wants to expand thier business and they think Tommy is the man to get the job done.Along the way Tommy meets his coked up lawyer Ken and also finds a new partner named Lance.Vice city lets you buy properties, guns and also lets you wear different outfits. There are tons of vehicles in this game including cars, motorcycles, scooters, choppers,Attack choppers and planes. You can do pretty much whatever your demented mind can come up with in this game including robbing stores, killing cops-and anyone else for that matter, carjacking and using drugs. This game was great on ps2 and xbox but if you want to play it to its fullest potential you should buy it for the PC.The graphics for the PC version of this game are 10 times better than those of the ps2 and at least twice as good as the xbox version when you turn off the frame limiter. Not only does the PC version of this game have better graphics but it also has the ability to connect to online multiplayer when you download the Multi theft auto mod.The only downside to the PC version of Vice city is the fact that using a mouse and keyboard realy doesn't work well for controls and you will need a gamepad as a controller. This was a console game first so i can understand why the mouse and keyboard dont work well for it but when you use a usb gamepad you will find the controls are nice and tight.Even if you still own the ps2 or xbox version of this game you should get the PC version just to experience the online multiplayer mod which can be downloaded from many websites(just type GTA VICE CITY MULTIPLAYER into any search engine). After all these years and even after Gta San Andreas this game is still fun to play.Buy it!
Not for the faint of heart-minors stay away!

This is the most disgusting, bloody, destructive, rude, crude, oughta be illegal to play or own game ever created and I love it! Tell me you've never fantasized about running red lights, wrecking cars, or blowing stuff up. Tell me you've never had a fantasy about doing something unpleasant to someone who gave you a ticket for speeding or for having a lousing attitude. Well...if you want to relieve that stress, just pretend one of the thousands of people in this game is the person that bothers you so much...point your weapon of choice and fire away. Rocket launchers and molotov cocktails are 2 of my favorite weapons of choice. Fair warning-this game is bloody and nasty. You can kill every last citizen in this game in a variety of ways and even pay hookers for well...hugs and kisses I suppose. This game is not for children or teens and any parent who knowingly allows their child to play this, well...Tommy would have a creative way for them to "accidentally" die. Great game for adults though.
