I love this game, it's cool just causing destruction, i beat all the missions, so now i just kill innocent people and the cops, and steal cars, my favorite thing is finding a shotgun then shoot at a car and person inside just comes out and bam, they died by the explosion. Best game nintendo has ever, even more good then [...] exclusives for the gamecube like mario.

I have picked up this game thinking it would be pretty tight, as I am a fan of third person action adventure games. I have a few things to point out as words of warning.
1) The game is good, but not the end all beat all. It's got some entertaining parts I'll admit, but it is not a free floating adventure game where you do what you want or handle adventures in the way you want. The story is linear, with few side-quests. The side tasks allow you to open up new skills and cars, but are not sub-plots all their own.
2) Load Times. This game has an enormous amount of load times. I was almost tempted to get a book. It loads before each cut scene, AND after each cut scene. It loads each mission, and it saves and loads after each mission. Just a warning, you got a lot of waiting ahead of you. I would have given it a better review, but all that waiting is unnecessary. If it doesn't bother you, good for you. But there are a ton of great games on the cube that don't load like this.
3) The graphics are good, but people and things tend to have little hit detection. It's possible to run through cars or objects when some kind of action animation takes over, putting someone beyond your reach when you kick them. Also just a warning, because I was in a fight with some criminals who kept sliding through the wall. I would have to run away for them to come out and fight me. Has happened more than once.
Anyway, it's a pretty good game, but it's not the end all beat all on the cube. If you have the extra money feel free to pick it up. If you only buy one game a month like me, you might want to pick up something else.
Rent it first....

When I first rented True Crime, I was very excited. The missions are either simple or impossible. What I don't understand is why in a mission, you can't just pull out your gun and use that!
But still, True Crime also has lots of positive elements. I enjoy cuisin' in LA and
arresting criminals. Yes, you can go on rampages, but it just isn't
the same as GTA. Overall, this game is fun for about 2-4 days.
Rent this game first and see what you think of it.

First of all I'd like to point out that this game takes forever to load. Even for gamecube, for ps2, I'd understan, but gamecube.
The graphics are like simple plan singing a love song to guys! I mean that in a bad way. It's a cool game but the game play is terrible, and the levels are short.
A SWEEEEEEEET GAME

This is a great game...Especially if you are a fan of the grand theft auto series... Although being very different from the grand theft auto series this is better... You can use combos moves in fights (unlike the GTAS fights where everything is random)... There are cool cars (most of them look are look alike licensed cars)... I rated this game 5 out of 5 BUY IT and no im not hatin' on Grand theft auto (its a good game to)... and the streets are exactly like the streets in LA...
The reviewer before me is not telling the facts.

I would just like to set the record straight. The reviewer before me plagued this game with uninspiried comments that completely contradict what he said. He reccomended grand theft auto.
Let me break it down for you.
Shooting is NOT boring. You upgrade your guns, you get 2, you can use different combinations(like a shotgun and a rifle at the same time or an uzi and a pistol). You can precision aim and take out guys in one shot or neutralize them. GTA involves holding r2 and hitting O every time.
Fighting involves tons of different combos. THere are plenty of grapples and special moves that make it fun. On the plus side you can knock your enemies into tons of things making the areas more interactive. GTA involves you hitting O over and over.
Driving is fun. You can shoot out tires and slow down time(you can also slow down shooting on foot) but the best thing is that the area is huge with no loading times once your out there. The driving lets you do tons of things and upgrade your driving to give you new abilities. GTA involves holding X. O, and both games have radios. This game lets you turn off music you don't want to listen to.
I could go for hours about this game. Seeing reviews like the one before this infuriate me. I can't stand it when people don't even play a game and want to review it. This game has hours of fun. 3 hours? If you play through the campaign without doing anything. I've cruised around solving crimes and upgrading my weapons for a few weeks. Talk about replay value...
I do hope people will sincerely consider this game instead of badmouthing it for having some lock ups(extremely rare) or blocky trees(which is completely untrue). If you think the trees are blocky in this than check out GTA because they certainly are not.

I can think of nothing bad about this game. It has crisp, beautiful graphics. It melds GTA, Dead to Rights, and Max Payne. It is the game that we Gamecube owners have been looking for to fill the void of a non-existant GTA GCN port. It has already been praised by real reviewers who have played the beta versions of it. I know that this isn't a really convincing review, but I have one last thing to say. This game features an all-star cast of voice actors including...Christopher Walken.;) 'Nuff said.
Finally, an Amazing Game for the Cube

Quite possibly better than GTA in many aspects of gaming, True Crime: Streets of L.A. brings that missing part of gaming to the Gamecube system. While True Crime is being released on all three major gaming platforms, many Gamecube fans are especially excited about its release. The Gamecube system has been missing an action/shooting/racing/adventure game with the elements that True Crime brings to the table ever since its release.
True Crime brings the player into the game as an L.A. Cop looking to break up the mafia and crime in L.A. This game is set up in the non-restrictive gaming style of the GTA games. However, T.C. adds unique details to enhance the gaming experience. For example, the setting of the game is obviously L.A. The detail of the map of Los Angeles is amazing however. While making this game, satellite images were used to make the game's setting extremely accurate to real life! Dozens of cars and weapons will be available for driving/shooting, as would be expected. Along witht the weapons, the main character will also know various martial arts. Additional combat styles and all-around improvements will be available throughout the game at various points. Also, a major component of the game is the fact that you can not "fail" missions as in GTA. The game is based upon a branching storyline with multiple endings depending on your actions during the game. For example, if you are an awesome cop, fight crime, catch every criminal, there might be one ending, but if you go on random shooting sprees and just have fun beating people up (which you can do!!! haha) then you would get a lesser ending to the game.
With so many other details to talk about, I'll leave the rest up to you! I would suggest buying True Crime and trying it for yourself. With so much to offer, there is little chance you will not like this game!
