This is the on of the colest games in history! You are the mayor of a city. You have to think about ploution a lot.It is cool

Sim City 3000 is really cool! You start off by making a Power Plant(I prefer Fusion or Microvave),laying power lines,zoning Residentail,Commercail,and Industrial areas,disposing of garbage,Making Roads and/or a Mass Transit System,Make Water Structures and pipelines,and Take care of Civic needs. Later in the game you might want to enact some ordinances(rules/laws),Make business deals with neighbors and organizations,set a budget(earlier on the computer does it for you),build rewards which most of them can only be optained thru Business Deals( ones optained without deal:county courthouse,Mayoral Mansion also know as you're house,city hall,performing of arts center,and Monument/statue. ones optained thru deal:Gigamall,Amusement Park,Space Port,Defense Contractor,Country Golf Club,etc.). Plus you can add Landmarks to you're City. This is a Great game,but for Sim City 2000 fans that want a totaly different game get the Unlimited Version(also known as Sim City 3000 Unlimited).

the only "old" game that doesn't play on my new PC that has WINDOWS XP. I knew it after i installed the game !

Guess I'm playing too much? lol I've enjoyed this game for quite a while now, and have made some spectacular cities, from miniature, to large with populations of up to 4 million. You can experiment with all sorts of neighborhood designs, and terracing to produce very high land values.

You're responsible for managing power, water, trash disposal, transportation, providing parks, managing taxes(and, yes, your sims will complain no matter how low the taxes are), deciding wether or not you should accept your neighbors trash for extra income, or wether you should pay your neighbors to take your trash.....also proposals will come for toxic waste disposal plant, casino, gigamall, and a maximum security prison and each has a nice income attached, but has consequences for each which could cause your sims to riot and demand it's removal. You can also accept things like a university, military base, performing arts and stock exchange which benifit your sims, and can cause a few problems.....and other improvements which are quite costly to add, like a medical research facility, science center, theme park, nature park, lighthouse and a few others which are well worth the expense in the benifits to your city.

My only complaints are that yes, running around your city having to find and destroy defunct water pumps, power plants, recycling centers and incenerators gets old after a while.

Also a warning: you have the option to sell water and power to your neighbors if you have extra. I've never been able to keep these deals since at some point my city ends up running into the power I'm selling to the other city, and I'm assessed with a hefty cancelation fee before I even realise the deal is gone.

A thorouly adictive and enjoyable game, I'm looking foward to seeing what new things are avalible in the new 4000 version.

Sim City 3000 is not only educational, but it is fun! It teaches you to keep up with demand, build zones for housing, and keep your sims happy, while trying to live on a balanced budget!

this game is great for everyone of all ages! Even you!!!! It's great fun game everyone in family wil love it. Its takes place in the future with money you have to work for and build house and streets. Diasters could come at any time to distroy your city. In conclusion this game is a education game that you kids or ever you will enjoy!!!!!

Do not buy this game if your computer is a Gateway

If you install this on a Gateway computer, like I did, the program will uninstall when you quit and then you will need to install it again, like I did. It's very frustrating. Otherwise, go ahead.

When you first buy this game, you will need to give it time. Reading the Manual first just might be alot of help. The game starts out in pause mode. This gives you time to zone space for roads, residental & commercial or indutry zones, water pipes and electrical wires. It times take to know the best way to zone RCIs. It's not easy and money can disappear fast so don't go crazy zoning everything and destorying things, it will cost you. It sum this review in one sentence. It takes time to build a perfect city so try different approaches and eventually your get it right.

SC3000 is a strategy game not a easy game so it can not be easy. But then it got very good pictures. If you had never played SC you should try SC3000. Otherwise you will be stuck in the mud.
