I love this game! Great graphics, and the twisters and UFOs are incredible! I spent 5 hours making a city, and the fun and challenge never stops!

Overall - a good way to pass time.

I thought SimCity3000 was fun and challenging, but building a city entitles one to make such decisions on where buildings go and what they look like, which this games lacks. I'd love to see a version where you're in complete control. For instance, I wanted my city to have several commercial zones with high-rises and regional malls all tied into one central core city. I also would've liked to be able to position the airport runways, add a cruise port, view the city from different angles (including ground level) and several other customizable features. Yes, this may seem picky and demanding but hey, I'm buying the game as a consumer - give me what I want!

excellent stratagy Game. It makes you think!

I love Sim City 3000. It has has a lot of grafic improvments over Sim City 2000! It is realy realistic, puts you in the mayor's chair and makes you think!

An exceptional strategy game and a solid lesson in civics.

I enjoyed Sim City, Sim City 2000, and Sim City 3000 too. Sim City 3000 isn't as much an improvement over SC2K as SC2K was over the original version but this game is worth the time. It takes some tending to get your city to develop and I felt there was some water issues that could have been better addressed but overall, it is an immensely enjoyable experience to build a thriving metropolis. The only deficiency was that there are times when it would be nice to approach your neighboring cities about a deal for water, power, trash. I highly reccommend this game.

I thought this game was great fun until my city grew to about 30,000 residents. The game became so slow that I dreaded ever having to go lay any water pipes because of the load time between views. (I was running on a 450/128MB/40X). So I became very frustrated very quickly with all of the load time and gave up. If you don't mind twiddling your thumbs, this is a great game.

Great game!

I highly recommend this game which is nicely challenging and allows you to express yourself. Wether you're into "let's pollute the skies" or "let's celebrate earth day by building a 500 acre park area", I'm sure you'll love this game.

The initial problem is just to survive especially in some of the scenarios. Once you learn to balance building resources, disposing of waste, enacting laws, etc. your city grows and cash comes in and you have mostly happy sims. However, after mastering the basics, that's about all that happens. Factories, power plants, etc. age and must be rebuilt, waste disposal is a constant problem. With no scoring or rating system there is no way to effectively judge your progress at learning the techniques of playing the game. After several looooong games it gets boring but it's probably worth the price.

Can be addictive

I enjoy playing this game for the most part. I have spent hours glued to the computer watching my cities grow. Unfortunately as the cities increase in population, so does the chances of the computer crashing - a very annoying problem. Also the parades last too long, the seaports are difficult to develop, the terrain for some cities, such as St. Louis, are unusually hilly, and the buildings look alike. The game is not that challenging. But overall a recommended game.
