Mindless Repetition

1 Rating: 1, Useful: 6 / 13

So much promise, so many cool weapons and spells, but then it is the same thing, over and over and over again. The game is ONLY level after level of dungeon with perhaps 7 different atmospheres that cycle. This game had so much potential but after about 5 levels of the dungeon you've seen pretty much everything. Get something else.

Wild Tangent is a terrible software maker

Be Ware of Wild Tangent. They sold us the boxed game but did not give us the unlock code for the software. We are still buying tokens to play the game even though we thought we purchase the boxed game. After many e-mails to the company, we are still unable to load the actual game on our PC!! Our son is very disappointed!

Poor copy of Diablo

I was very disappointed with Fate. It is basically Diablo rehashed. The controls aren't as smooth and when you get back to town you have to wonder all over to accomplish basically getting new quests and selling loot. I didn't find anything particularly worth while about the game, the pet is a twist but big whoop. Just another dungeon game.

The graphics are fine. The game seemed to run fine. I suppose if you liked Diablo but didn't care for the dark aspect of it, you may like Fate better. Seems more cheerful.

Addictive

This game is for gamers have a lot of time on their hands. It is very time consuming due to the amount of levels that you have to complete, and it's hard to leave. Only buy this if you've got the time to play it.

Download a demo from Yahoo Games. Try before you buy.

The demo is making me rethink a purchase, mostly because of the kiddie graphics and top down only view. I give it four stars because it is entertaining, but it's doubtful I'd play this for very long--and I really enjoy RPGs like Gothic 2 or Vampire Bloodlines.

First-rate RPG goodness

This inexpensive, simple little Diablo clone is a first-rate time-waster RPG for those who want a simple stress-reliver to while away an hour or two. It is essentially Diablo 1 with a much deeper dungeon and the shift from a class-based RPG to a skill-based one. It also adds the rather entertaining feature of having a pet that morphs into a killer monster-companion by feeding it select species of fish. Graphically, Fate is a slight improvement over the Diablo games with full 3-D scrollability and a more cartoonish look. But at its heart, it is just Diablo 1 with some nice additions. If you want solo dungeon crawling fun with no danger of multiplayer exploiters ruining your fun, look no further.

Shameless Diablo rip-off, for the younger crowd

I am thoroughly enjoying this game and I'm only halfway to my randomly generated boss level. I've had it for a few weeks now, and the only reason why I haven't totally conquered this game is because of lack of time to play and my slow, painstakingly meticulous style of play. Whenever I get a new piece of equipment I spend no less than 10 min weighing it's pros and cons against my current piece until I get frustrated with myself for taking so long and keep the old one for safe-keeping or to switch out when the need arises (you can tell that I don't have much space in my pack). This also forces to make frequent trips to town to sell all the junk I find and I have made quite a profit from it and am not ever in need of cash. But enough of my excuses...

I wasn't kidding when I said "shameless." This game combines all the most positive elements of Diablo and Diablo 2 and throws in a constant pet that NEVER DIES! It even makes dumping excess equipment for you easy by having it go back to town for you and returning the profit (according to how deep you are in the dungeon; it takes longer with eack level). It's brighter, more-colorful, and alot less "mature" with it's monster design and overall gore. Though some have knocked the soundtrack, I've been entranced by it's medieval/renaissance music and find myself humming it around house, much to my wife's dismay.

I recommend this game to anyone who loved Diablo or wants to share it's fun with a younger relative/friend. Don't forget to pick up three quests for the level you are about to enter BEFORE you go in, in order to maximize the amount of exp, fame, cash, and possibly items you get from them.

Fun Game

The game includes a pet. You can choose a cat or a dog. This pet performs errands for you and fights enemies for you. You can feed your pet fish which transforms it into a more powerful entity for a short period of time.

Fun premise....

Fate - An Exciting and Adictive Game

This game has given my daughter and I hours of fun. She is having a hard time getting up for school the next day because of it. The only down fall is that I wish you could use a game pad controller instead of the keyboard. Other than that, the game is very exciting and draws you in.
