Played at friends and it rocks. Exactly like age of empires just in the future

VERY disappointing

Im not going to even get into detail about this game. I thought it was very disappointing. The only thing I liked about it was that the infantry and vehicles were all real and the game setup, when you build a base its nothing like red alert for example. I think you can get a game 5 times as better for the same amount of your hard earned money.

One of the Top PC Games of the Year!!

How do you know when a game is addictive? When your alarm clock rings to wake you up for work and you're still bombing the heck out of the opposition! Real War is a real-time strategy game based on the weaponry available to the US military. As a bit of a combat buff, I was admittedly skeptical at first. Afterall, most combat sims involve either futuristic weapons or crude armaments. But, Real War sated my appetite for more realistic battle conditions and situations. Online playing ability for up to four people is an added bonus. Check this game out!

Buy this if you like RTS games! There is nothing like strafing soldiers with an A-10, or firing a nuke into an enemy base. Plus, you get to fight the terrorists! Just what we need these days.

Finally, something different from sci fi or futuristic war

This is a RTS I have been waiting for for a long time now. Real units and base types, scenarios, maps, logistics, etc. I cant tell you how boring sci-fi or futuristic RTS titles get after awhile.

I enjoy how the game played as well as enemy AI. It gets 5 stars for being what I wanted, REAL, and ultra cool. The only flaw in this game is the pathfinding, which can be a little wirey if your buildings are close together. Just build your vehicle yards away from confined areas. However this is something that will be adressed in a patch no doubt, so dont fret.

Overall, the game is very cool, but if you think the game tends to drag out over one map, just remember it is a military simulation and not fast paced like Command and Conquer too. Because this is real.

So much potential...

Real War is a great idea... I've never gotten into most other RTS because the units are always too faniciful or sci-fi... but RW gives you modern American units like the A-10 Warthog, F-117 Stealth Fighter, the MA1 Abrahms main battle tank, the Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier, the Seawolf Class Submarine, Army Rangers, Navy Seals, and tactical nukes against real world foreign units like the Eurofighter fighter-bomber, the Kilo Class Diesel-Electric Sub, the T-80 Soviet Tank, the Hind Attack Chopper, guerilla and terrorists troops, and SCUD missles loaded with nerve gas. This alone makes the game something new although the graphics, sound, and gameplay are pretty far behind the C&C and other similiar series of games.

Great Fun But Not Ready For Market

This game is a great strategy game in many respects but there are way too many technical issues with it. The game is known to crash. It works fine if you turn off most of the enhanced graphics features inclusing 3D Acceleration. This game can be the best there is but it seems it was rushed to market.

This game is very high quality

this game must have taken a long time to make. the cinimatics are amazing. the thing that really persuaded me to buy the game is they have the drill sergeant from Full Metal Jacket doing the voice overs.
this game returns to the old fashioned style of RTS while fitting in a bleep load of great features. one of the features is the ability to select a target from a menu instead of having to click on a target going 100 mph(which is very hard in this game). another cool feature is the ability to slect any of your units through a menu that has tabs for land, sea, air, spec ops, and builds. though this all might sound complicated it is actually very simple. if you want a "real" RTS than look no further.
