I heard about this game early on, from several preview articles. I was really excited to hear a real time war simulator for the public was being released by a company that had developed real time simulators for the military. What a dissapointment this is! Definitely an arcade experience. I'm giving it 2 stars based on the fact that its highly unrealistic... and that I was expecting REAL WAR. If you like RTS's just for a beer and pretzel fun time game... this is fine i guess... if you are anything of a serious war gamer... STAY AWAY!!! Stick with Operational Art of War or any number of fantasic war games produced out there instead!

I first found out about Real War on a demo I got. I really Thought it was A great game so I went to amazon and purchased it.
I like the realism characteristics of the units that arent only real and used in the US Military, But are so realistlicaly captured on this virtual battlefield.The game is really great and I hope it becomes a Bestseller!

This game is a great strategy game in many respects but there are way too many technical issues with it. The game is known to crash. It works fine if you turn off most of the enhanced graphics features inclusing 3D Acceleration. This game can be the best there is but it seems it was rushed to market.

This game is OK. It could be better. First, the Units get stuck
and they can't move. Then I have to destroy it and buy a new one. I also don't like how long it takes to load. The graphics are good though. There is not enough missions. Only 24, that sucks. It would be alot better if there were more levels. The last level for the US is the best. I hate how the computer always rebuilds the bridges. The vehicles are good. I would seriously recomend the COMAND & CONQUER series.

If you like C&C, then this games is for you. Real units w/real limits and a real complexity if you try combined arms ops. Chilling intro given the events since 9-11. A virtual way to smash terrorists.

Excellent Strategy Game

If you are looking for an excellent strategy game, I would suggest this one. You can have access to cool weaponry and vehicles like: F-117 Stealth Fighters, Aircraft Carriers, Tactical Nukes, Navy Seals, etc. It is also a very challenging game, which I was glad not to find another pushover. You have to set up camp and build "supply depots" to get your resources, which regulates how fast you can build items. You get the different items by laying down certain camps (for example, you get the land strategy center by laying down a soldiers tent and vehicle yard). Long story short, it is a great game.

First off all, I would like to commend SSI for attempting to create a game that is coincendtially related to today's events with bin Laden et al. But these are not terrorists like Al Queda. Substitute terrorists with Iraq or Russia and the game title will be more accurate. True they use use current military (late 80's to early 90's), but that is where the game drops off. As much time as they spent into the detail of the game (great graphics and no useless resource gathering), they forgot to place intelligence into the opponent. Numerous times, I can build a couple of jammers and launch a tomhawk missle attack into their base, airdrop some commando's and the mission is over in about 10 minutes (after I got the needed resources). The enemy attacks you in a lemmings fashion, absolutely no coordination. However, in light of today's world, I love dropping nukes on the terrorists as our boys are in the field mopping up the scum. Good game to get you in the patriotic mood.

Real War is an over all great game really good graphics and preaty exciteing .The only down side is there is only one enemy the ILA and it gets a little boring after fighting the same enemy after a while

BEST GAME FOR PC

This has got to be the best game for pc. It is extremely entertaining and has great graphics. There are so many different units and buildings you won't be able to remember them all. The only problem with the game is that it takes too long to load, but the loading is worth it. Best of all, you dont have to mine for resources or money, unlike on starcraft and other RTS games a helicopter flys in and brings you money to build units and buildings. This game will surely keep you entertained for...years! It is worth every penny and I highly reccomend this game and the sequel too.

This is a great strategy game with air, land , and sea combat units. Good grahics.
It is a challenge to defeat your enemies. Choose from two different armies with different units.
The flight of the planes is very realistic.
Overall this game is great.
