Fantastic Game

Whether it's jumping over Lombard Street in San Francisco or Racing in Hyde Park in London, Midtown Madness 2 is fun and exciting in every way. This software includes cruise mode, blitz, checkpoint, and circuit races along with crash courses (Driving schools) in both San Francisco and London. Twenty vehicles range from a Double Decker Bus to a Panoz GTR-1. Jumping on to buildings and driving police cars into the water add to the fun. I rated this software five stars meaning that I highly recommend it.

Whoa. Microsoft scoooooored. Midtown Madness 2 is better than the original simply because of all the possiblities. You can just Cruise around each city (Trust me, you'll do this for HOURS, I know I [literally] did), play games with yourself in Cruise mode like "Cop Killa" where you hafta get the feds off you tail (NOT a game mode, just something I like to do sometimes), countless race styles and types, mess around with multiplayer on the Zone, play an unlimited number of different kinds of online games (Cops & Robbers, Roof Warz! [the latter is not a game mode]), download some mods and new levels, go online with those and challenge and confuse buddies, battle it out on top of bridges...it just keeps going. Did I mention that some people make their own cars and mods, and you can too? Um, shouldn't you be buying this already?

Great Game, Pure Fun

I own both Midtown Madness 1&2. I had Great fun with the origonal even though it had its problems. Bad physics, not the best graphics, ect. What I really love about that game though, is that you can just cruise around the city after the heat of racing. Midtown madness 2 has that feature and more. Most of these bugs are gone in MM2 also. And now there are 2 cities, San Francisco AND London, instead of just 1! The cities are true to what they look like in real life, too! It has many different modes of play. This is what they are:
CRUISE: Simply cruise around the cities care free, doing absolutley whatever you want, and you can learn the roads. GREAT FUN!
BLITZ RACE: Race along the roads finding your own way. Get through all the checkpoints in order and in time to win the race. You can unlock new vehicles by winning many of the races.
CURCIUT RACE: Race opponents in set courses throughout San Francisco and London. You can unlock new cars here, too.
CHECKPOINT RACE: Get through all the checkpoints in no particular order and get to the finish before the others. You can get new cars here, too.
There is one new mode, crash course, in which you must go through a series of tests, where you must practice an individual skill, and be good at it to pass! There is one big test after every 3 little tests combining all the skills you just learned, and you get a new paint job for a car after each Big test. And you get a new car at the end, too!
This is a very good game. These are the general PROS and CONS
PROS:
1 Good sound track
2 Two new areas San Francisco & London
3 Five different game modes, including a new one, Crash
Course
4 Lots of Cars
5 lots of Tracks
6 Awesome Cruise feature, just drive around!
7 areas true to how they are in real life
8 good graphics
CONS:Can be a little glitchy, but thats about it
THIS IS ONE GREAT GAME!!!!!!!

The Rich Kid's Mario Kart = The Poor Man's Carmageddon

Midtown Madness offers a good, fun engine in wich you'll spend some time driving through two real-life scenarios. Period. If you are looking for a game for your kids, this is it. It's good enough and fun enough to keep a child happy. You will feel like playing Mario Kart in a city, without the weapons, but with real cars.

Now, if you are looking for M A D N E S S, any Carmageddon series game if a better offering; even the mid-90's version. They all have better graphics with highly textured polygons, better soundtracks (the second one had Iron Maiden), much more interactivity (wreck the cars, the stage, and other cars), better scenarios that incluide highways, gasoline stations, parks, rivers, and toxic wastelands, to name a few, interesting power ups that go from "Gravity from Jupiter" and a Knight Rider-like jump to engine upgrades and, of course, the series trademark: blood, blood, and more blood.

As far as the Madness, Microsoft's latest offering falls terribly short with no blood, no violence, and just limited mechanical rage. With twenty real life cars, the offering also falls short of the benchmark-setting, years old Gran Turismo (wich you can play on BLEEM) by about 100 cars, do the math. Do yourself a favor and get it for your kids, if you got the first one, stick with it, and if you want something new for yourself, grab a copy of Carmageddon 3: The Death Race 2000 (about 40 dollars) or Carmageddon 2: Carpocalypse Now (about 20 dollars)... 'cause paying for this Madness really is madness.

MIDTOWN MADNESS 2 - A REAL HOOT!

Midtown Madness 2 has just got to be one of the greatest car racing games ever! Anyone who thinks it is not is BLIND and STUPID! Anyway this game offers up to nearly 100 races in total including cruise, blitz, checkpoint, circuit, crash course and multiplayer over the internet! Race in 2 different cities, London and San Francisco, visit Big Ben, St Pauls or the Tower in London or Golden Gate, Lombard Street or Coit Tower in SF! Race in sun, rain, cloud or fog in either daytime or night and laugh at the angry people as you try to run them over! Beware of the cops chasing you and also over obstacles such as roadblocks, trees, opening bridges and even trains! Speed across Hyde Park or Presidio with ease and be careful you do not hit to many buildings otherwise you are history! All in all a great game!

Midtown Madness 2 is the best stress reliever. This is Road Rage you can get away with, without going to jailed or being killed or anybody else being hurt. I recommend it to air out your frustrations in real life. The choice of automobiles are awesome. Just wish i had a couple of the sports cars.

The game is lots of fun, there are pros. and cons. I'll start with the pros. You can cruse two citys, crash course, and check point.(there other things, but I'm to lazy type them) Lots of cars and races. There are some cons. It takes 10 mins load on my 600mhz computer. The graphics are like the first game. Download this game before you buy.
