Great Game!

As far as gameboy color standards go, this is one of the best games made. The fact that you can duel people that you see on tv gives this game an extra aspect of fun. When you first begin you start out with a pretty good deck, so even if you dont know stuff about the game you still have a good chance. When you start to get tired of it because you cant win, there are plenty of scret passwords to help you there. Also, I collect the cards and now that I have this, I wish I had boughten it sooner. One because its fun, and two, the prices of cards really add up, so with this game you dont have to spend as much time and money going out and buying cards. Further more, if you do collect the cards, than this game will help you in two ways. One, is that its a good simulator for a real duel so it keeps you on your feet for real duels. Two it comes with three of the best cards in the game, Dark Magician, Blue Eyes White Dragon, and a piece of Exodia the forbidden one!! This is a really great game for those who watch the show or play the card game, but also for those who want a level of card play higher than pokemon but not as violent as magic the gathering.

Too Good!

This game is great for Yu-Gi-Oh Lovers! This game is like Pokémon but better and with cards. If you like Pokémon, and card games, this is a good game for gamers who like action and simulation games. Some duelist might be hard but, you gotta give them all you've got and show them who's the boss. Passwords might be also helpful like Dark Magician: 46986414 and Blue Eyes White Dragon: 89631139 . This game goals is you have to Battle all the duelists to get Yuki Grandfather Back. The game box has 3 official limited game cards inside which is very rare like salamandra and acid trap hole. This game main menu option are: 1. Campaign 2. Constuction 3. Versus 4. Trade 5. Records 6. Change Name 7. Password Screen. The Construction area is that when you win each duel, you get a card part and at the construction area, you make a card from a card part. Versus area. This area is a head to head with a friend connected with GameBoy Cable (not included). This is a good thing that when you win a head to head duel, you get 20 pts to your deck capacity! Records Area. This area shows your dueling records. The screen shows the name, #'s of link battles and wins, Duel Level, and your deck Volume ( A.K.A Deck Capacity). There are 3 towns + 1 secret area. I hope you enjoyed my review on ...... Yu-Gi-Oh : Dark Duel Stories!

A serious waste of time!

I've played Magic the Gathering on and off for years. The video versions have always been terrible. Yu-Gi-Oh Dark Duel Stories is nothing like those. It's fun, it's addictive and you'll waste a good portion of any given day playing it! It's not just that it's a well-paced game, it's that it's also an intuitive game. I had no idea how to play it when I bought the game, the instruction manual is spotty at best (I'll be purchasing the strategy guide when it comes out) but after 4 or 5 rounds I had a handle on the play mechanics and the meager instructions that were included started to make sense. I'm anxious to link up and play against a human but for now there's no shortage of challenging computer opponents to play against. Also worth mentioning is the amazing card library that's included (more than 700 individual cards)plus the card construction area that allows you to customize up to 10,000 cards!
Now the downside: The graphics are fairly simplistic and in some cases downright rough, there's not a lot of animation and the music is pretty annoying, and not one of those things takes away for a minute from the great gameplay. If you can find it, buy it, you won't be disappointed.

The Best game I have for GBC!

Wow! this game is great!I have watched the t.v. show on Kid's WB and it helps alot with this game.If you collect the cards it is a major plus because there is a code at the bottom-left corner of most cards. You can use the codes to have that certain card to use for your own deck on the game.I like how you can personalize your duel monsters deck to fit any situation!

Here's a tip: Get Kaiba's deck to have a Blue Eyes White Dragon(very powerful) And get Yugi's deck to get a Dark Magician(best magic user)and lots of other powerful cards!

I got this game 2 days ago and it is the best.
If you are thinking about buying this game I would definately go for it.If you like the pokemon card game, but want something a little more mature, this is for you.And you also get to duel Kaiba and other strong duelists.

Hope this helped!

C-YA! ^_^

Greatest game for game boy EVER!!!!!!!!!

This game is a very great game! The graphics are amazing for game boy color! The game will keep you busy for a long time. All I do every day is come home from school, have a snack, and play the game! It is that much fun! Sometimes I do not have dinner!!! What you do in this game is duel people. That is what makes it fun! Some people you fight are:
Tristan
Joey Wheeler
Yugi Mohto
Mai Valentine
Mako
Esp Roba
Rex
Weevil
Seeker
Pandora
Kaiba
Paradox
P. Seto
Ishizu
Slysheen
and more!!! You have to beat sech duelist 5 times or more!!! For people who don't know what Yu-GI-Oh! is, it is a TV show where people duel and the main character is Yugi. It is sort of like Magic The Gathering in my opinion. If you are a Yu-Gi-Oh! fan, you must buy this game.

FUN, FUN, FUN Till her daddy takes her T-Bird Away!!!!

When the Anime cardgaming industry began to blossom, I turned my back on it. I didn't want to know new games, new strategies, new rules anything apart from video games and chess. Being 28 years old I felt I reached my limit of kiddie fun. When the Yugioh Cartoon aired, I watched like I was a kid again watching the Super Friends. To my suprise I was impressed. And the first thing I said was this would make a good "real" game. Well It's here (after doing blockbuster numbers in Japan). The video games and the card games have hit the shores of America. And parents as well as children can enjoy. It is best described as chess with the ability to choose your own pieces. The strategy, the imagination, and the competition is there. I would say it can be better absorbed by adults and children alike. Not too kiddie like Pokemon, but not too grown-up like Magic the Gathering. So Mom and Pop grab your pre-teen and teen, grab some decks and games and get to battling. WARNING: you do run the risk of learning something from your own child, and GETTING YOUR BUTT KICKED IN THE PROCESS!!!

Yu-Gi-Oh Rules!

In Yu-Gi-Oh: Dark Duel Stores, there are many more rules than in the real card game. First of all only 40 cards in your deck, no more, no less. Second of all, there is a limit to strong monsters you can have in your deck, like a power limit in RPG's. Then there are the normal GBC graphics, but they are more advanced than GBC, mid-GBC,GBA. The 3 cards you shall likely get are Seiyharu (2500 atk, 2300 def) Acid Trap Hole (If your opponent summon a monster of higher than 2000 defense, destroy it) and Salamandra (Raise a Fire type monster's atk by 700). The unlikely ones you will get (when I say unlikely, I ean unlikely) are Dark Magician (2500 atk, 2200 def) Blue Eyes White Dragon (3000 atk, 2500 def) and Exodia The Forbidden One (1000 atk and def). Peole say it is bad because it is hard, but I, a true gamer likes it because it is hard.

First of all, I've seen little bits of the Japanese version of this game, and it rocks. Second,I've seen the show and you can learn the basics from the first episode. And Yugioh himself is hot. And lastly - The show rocks, the game should rock and the cards in real life rock. (Yes they have the card game for real.) Have fun!
