I am the ultimate Yu-Gi-Oh fan because i've been waiting for the series for 3 years. If you are looking for a great new game to add to your gameboy collection Yu-Gi-Oh! Dark Duel Stories is the game to get. If you look at just one sreenshot you'll be hooked. And if you don't then you're just weird. Although the game is just on gameboy color its better than any other card game like MagiNation. If you want to get someone a game for the gameboy color or gameboy advance this is the game to get. As the tittle states. This is the best game ever for Game Boy Color!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I also Recomend Yu-Gi-Oh Forbidden Memories Fo Playstation.Same Charachter in the tittle way different play.In this game you get to duel other characters such as Joey Wheeler, Mai Valentine, Seto Kaiba, Rex Raptor, Weevil Undrwood, and Brothers Para and Dox.You can also input special codes to get the cards you already have in the real world.the game is kida complex at first but once you start playin its hard to stop.So Check It out and put up your own review.

It's great!!

This game is absolutely fabulous. Though it is highly addictive!!! I can't stop playing. Sometimes I even play for 3 hours total. You can have the ultimate fun if you use the codes on the bottome left corner of a duel monster card. If you don't, the game would be kind of complicated. I also recommend that you read the instruction booklet or you would have the slightest idea of what to do.I highly recommend it!!

Who would of thought a game could be this easy to beat?

I got this game for Christmas and I immediatly started enjoying the game. I thought there wasn't anything better out there. When I saw review's and they said there was no plot, I didn't care. But when the opponents started playing not attacking when I had no monsters on the field, I knew this game was a fluke. The Graphics are supurb for a Game Boy color game but for all the Game Boy advances that are out, don't spend money on this. If you are willing to pay $30 for a Siearyu, Acid Trap hole and a other card, get the game now. Otherwise, Konami just made a dissapointment of a game here because it is too easy to beat!

The Pokemon Collectible Trading Card Game was my first experience with a CTCG for the Game Boy Color. Purchased back in 2000, it proved to me that a) the Pokemon CTCG was enjoyable even by an adult player who isn't a Pokemon fan and that b) a CTCG could be more than competently executed on the Gameboy Advance. Thus, when I first saw Yu-Gi-Oh! Dark Duel Stories for the Game Boy Color in 2002, I was ready and willing to overlook the "kiddie" franchise to enjoy the strategy of a long-overdue addition to the list of CTCG's available for a hand-held console.
Unfortunately, Dark Duel Stories is a disappointment. As a subsequent release, it should have been at least as easy, enjoyable, and challenging to play as the Pokemon CTCG. Unfortunately, there isn't much enjoyable about playing this game.
Deck creation is subject to a number of artificial limitations, such as an anal-retentive limit of exactly 40 cards in your deck, and no side deck. Cards are all assigned a point value to limit the use of more powerful cards until you play several duels to increase your allowable point total limit for deck creation. While the mix-and-match monster card creation feature allows for a great variety of monsters, their practical utility is severely limited by their point cost.
Other bizarre deviations from the Yu-gi-oh CTCG proper include the limit of one trap card can be played at a time, which must be discarded at the end of your opponent's next turn, and the virtual non-existence of monster flip effects, effectively nullifying most strategies beyond eliminating or overpowering your opponent's monsters.
Dark Duel Stories attempts to overcome these self-inflicted shortcomings by introducing two "paper-rock-scissors" style heirarchies among the monster cards which allow certain monster types to automatically destroy types to which they are superior, regardless of their actual statistics. Additionally, players need neither fusion monsters or a polymerization card to perform fusions and summon fusion monsters. Other than these weak concessions, however, there is little in the way of strategy.
In short, there are other CTCG's more worthy of your time. If you're a fan of the Yu-Gi-Oh! CTCG, seriously consider upgrading to a Game Boy Advance and getting Eternal Duelist Soul. If you're not particularly loyal to a particular CTCG franchise and you're not ready to upgrade from your trusty Game Boy or Game Boy Color just yet, see if you can find a copy of the Pokemon CTCG. These games are enjoyable and worth your time; Dark Duel Stories isn't.

This is a great game! it keeps u busy and is fun to play! Igave it four stars on fun because all though it is fun,all you do is duel and it gets tiring after a while. But the construction feature is great! i gave it three stars on education because even though parents might not see it,this game teaches math, and strategy.be careful, becausewhen yamiyugi comes it doesn't let u pass him, or maybe i bought a deffective copy.now i'll tell you something you want to know,in password mode,to find the password just look on the bottom left corner of the card you want the password for and it will be right there! here are some passwords
summoned skull-70781052
blueeyes white dragon-89631139
gaia the fierce knight-06368038
dark magician-46986414
curse of dragon-28279543
dark hole-53129443
ookazi-19523799
change of heart-04031928
But there are some passwords that don't work.
