Great Fun-till it locks up

My 8 year old son bought this and really enjoyed playing it, but now the game is at a standoff with him. He had 39 cards in his deck, then when he added one more, it said he "exceeded" the limit and would not let him duel...he gets rid of 1 card, then it tells him he only has 39 and still can't duel. He is really frustrated by this and has not been able to find the problem...

Pretty Good Game

This is a pretty good game. i first bought the gameboy advance and this game mainly to keep me occupied during the 13 1/2 hour lond vacation trip (on the airplane). i bought it a week before our trip. but after only 3 days, i was afraid i was getting bored of the game. however, i tried to limit my ghameplay on the game, so that it would be more enjoyable on the plane. if you are one of those people who start something only to stop several days later...i don't recommend this game, but if you like trying to stick to stuff for a long time, then this is the right game for you.

what a disappointment

Since GBA, came out, I haven't been buying GBC games, but I was curious, so I got this one for my younger sister as a gift. I had hoped it would give her a chance to learn more about the card game, and give her a chance to play people who wouldn't beat her all the time like I did until she developed her skills. Well, there wasn't much to be learned from this game about the real card game, since the rules worked quite differently, and even the hardest opponents were no challenge at all.

Still, there's more to a game than a good challenge and fidelity to the original game such as graphics and plot. Unfortunately, this game has neither. Compared to what current technology is capable of, the graphics were sad, and the game had absolutely no plot.

Perhaps the game would have been a little more valuable if my sister or I knew anyone else who had the game. There is much room to improve decks beyond what is needed to beat the final opponent, and a real person would certainly provide more of a challenge. But, I couldn't honestly recommend that any of my friends waste they're money on the game.

Bad in todays standards

The graphics and sound are abysmal. The card pool is small. The game doesn't follow the Yu-Gi-Oh rules. The opponents are random. Get a better Yu-Gi-Oh game.

An okay game, but it's no EDS...

When this game first came out, I thought I'd be getting the perfect translation of the original card game. Now, while it has some of the rules down, it's far from perfect. Element limitations were included? Meaning certain monsters of certain elements can easily fall prey to another weaker monster just because he's of a different element? There's also deck limitations? I know we try to limit our decks to 40 cards, but at least give me the option to go above that if I want. You can also only lay one trap card at a time? EDS allows you to lay as many trap/magic cards as you want. You're deck isn't restricted to more powerful cards in EDS either unlike DDS where you have to earn that right. At least Eternal Duelist of Soul for the GBA has a 60 card limitation and is a much better and truer translation of the card game. If you're choosing between the two, go for EDS for the GBA advance. If you only have a GBC, sell it on ebay or something and get a GBA so you can buy Eternal Duelist of Soul. You'll be thankful you did.

this game is incredible!!!i love it, with the deuling and by the way, if you watch the show youll probly do better because you know how to duel and really believe in this awesome thing they call Yu-Gi-Oh!.much like pokemon, but it has 1 thing that pokemon doesn't-fun while at the same time you use your mind and beleive in what youre doing. i would play the card game also but people think its dorky and it'll ruin your reputation-but dont get me wrong, you can play the game boy game without worrying about your popularity. i just cant explain how fun it is combining magic cards with monsters, its like it was a game ACTUALLY made for the fearows of Ancient Egypt. GET IT, SERIOUSLY IT IS THE BEST GAME EVER! BETTER THAN POKEMON, and you know how fun that was when it came out!

Such a cool game a must have for fans and gamers!!!

Dark Duel stories is the best!! And the password mode helps if you have cards. I personaly love this game (I am planing a wedding in December) It is hard at frist and you have to lose a littel to win but as soon as you get more cards you can take on the heavy hitters. Level 1 is hard at first (mostly Mai&Yugi) but I would say go for Tristen and mako! Level 2 is really hard compared to level 1 (mostly Seto Kaiba&Wevel) I would say for this one go for Rex and Seeker! Next Level is horrbley hard!!(Mostly Ishar&P.Seto) Depends on your deck...Well I loooooooooove this game but I think I missed a password after Yami Yugi so I can't go on if any one has it please I beg you send it to me pokemonmolly@yahoo.com

The borig thing about "Dark duel stories is that you can't see the cards in either of you or your opponent graveyard in the "Enternal dulest soul" you can reborn monsters from either graveyard or use "Mask of darkness" "Magican of faith" if you don't know what the mask of darkness dose or magican of faith effects dose well here is your lucky day the mask of darkness effect is remove 1 trap card from your graveyard and place it in to your hand magicn of faith effect is get a magic card from your graveyard and place it in your hand and that is why Enternal dulest soul and learn what they do in real life or use megamorph on one of your monsters in dark duel stories Red-eyes black dragon or Zoa that is why enternal dulest soul is better but the 3 limited cards in side are Skull dice,Graceful dice, and exchange skull dice dose lower atk and def power of all your opponents monsters but not facedown graceful dice dose powerup all your own face up monsters bye the way you are supose to use a dice and exchange dose show both of you and your opponent hand and select 1 card there are only 3 choices that you want "MAGICS,TRAPS,and finally MONSTERS" and another "ENTERNAL DULEST SOUL is a GAMEBOY ADVANCE the 3 cards are in holographic.
