harvest moon rocks!

my friend was always talking about how awesome harvest moon was, and i didn't really belive her. a farming game??! i mean, come on. that must stink as much as the cow poop.
i was SO wrong!
she let me play her old GBC version, and i loved it! it was one of the best games i'd played! since i love RPGs, it went in my gameboy...and stayed there. she gave the game to me ^_^
about the game:
you get to be a boy, or girl (unlike most other harvest moon games, where you must play a guy), and both have advantages: the guy is stronger and tires slower, but the girl gets extra seeds (i would recomend being the girl, since being stronger doesn't really do much). You get to plant and harvest seeds, and buy cows and chickens. making money at first is hard, so don't go out and buy a bunch of building materials, or a house esxpainsion, until you can really afford it!
i would recomend playing this version before any other harvest moon games, so you can get the basics down. for me, being thrown into HM-mineral town with only a days experiance at the game was very confusing. also, this could be the best bet for you if you don't want to spend time with relationships (like in other HM games).

Math skill building in a fun way

This is a cool game. There is a good variety of things to do. There is nighttime, daytime and sometimes you get to ride your horse when he grows up. My mom likes this game because there is no fighting, and lots of math work. I like it because it's fun!

Really good but has its bad parts

It is a relly cool game. You can make a run down ranch bcome a winner. But if you have tried the N-64 version it is a lot better. You can't have a girlfiend there are only a couple paces to go and you can't walk around and talk to people. The first year it is so fun. When You get enough money you can buy a cow or a chicken. There are holidays. After a while you get bord so you start a new game to try to do better. Even though it has its flaws it it is definitely worth buying!

This is a cool game! I play it all the time! It's a basic game of hard work. Here's my schedule: 1.Wake up 2.Take dog out 3.Get water can from shed 4.Water plants or harvest plants 5.Plant new plants if there was a harvest 6.Go to shed to get brush and milker 7.Feed cows 8.Talk to cows 9.Milk cows and make it into butter or cheese 10.Take each cow on a walk 11.Go to chicken coop 12.Put eggs in shipping bin 13.Feed chickens 14.Go get the sickle from the shed 15.Cut ripe grass if any 16.Go to underground caves 17.Feed Harvest Sprites mushrooms 18.Take a dip in the hot springs 19.Go to town to buy new things 20.Ride horse 21. It a verygood game

When I first bought Harvest Moon for GBC it was really exiting. You get to water your crops and buy animals. At first I thought that it was easy but then I realized that is not very easy, if you don't water your crops it not grows and on winter( there are seasons) all your crops die. Your cows some time get ill, you have to bye the medicine..............well I really like it.

this game is really fun and cool in the beginning but after 5 years its a little less fun. it would be more fun if you could get married. but if you are an older gamer 13+ this game is fun and addictive

This is really a great game ragaurdless of what it's description may sound like. You are a farmer trying to save your grandfathers farm, and by doing so you must raise cows, chickens, crops, and even a horse and dog/cat! Water your crops and hoe the ground before you plant so your seed take root. It is a great game but for some more advanced gamers it can be quite shallow and easy. You can seem to get to your cash limit within one year with only slight effort. Fun if you can take the repetition over and over and over and over!

Not the best Harvest Moon, but still wildly addictive...

For starters, if you have never played Harvest Moon I would more reccommend Harvest Moon 64, or the later Game Boy versions. If you are a seasoned fan, you may get a kick out of this.

[Junk] Factor: In this particular Harvest Moon, your character cannot befriend the villagers, there are not loads of exciting festivals, and you cannot get married or have a child. You can only have four cows, no sheep, six chickens, a horse, and one dog or cat. Each name can only be four characters long, so get used to abbreviations.

Fun level: You can choose gender, unlike most of the Harvest Moon games, you can actually play a woman. You can also choose between a dog or a cat. There is a village, just not people to befriend. You can also get all sorts of magical tools, like an umbrellla that causes rain.

Other differences: It is not you father that comes to review your work for the year, it is actually your grandfather come from beyond the grave.

So once again, I would reccommend other Harvest Moons for people, but if you do not care, or do not like the village and the marrying business, go for it. It's still a reather fun game.

No guns or swords!

This game is a great game because it is pretty easy but not to easy and there is not a single drop of blood or a gun or sword. It is a good game to play when you need a break from all the violent video games. The music is'nt so good though. The days are way to short and the town is way to small but those are th only cons. This game is fun and HIGHLY addictive! The graphics are good and the controls are nice. I would recomend this game to anyone even adults.

Looking at it, it may seem like it would be a very boring game. But it is completely different from that. You start by getting a huge farm from the mayor and you have three years to improve it. You have to go around the farm Cutting weeds, chopping stumps, busting bolders, etc. Once you do that you go to the shops and by crops and grass. You can grow the crops and ship them out. Once you have enough grass, you can get cows and chickens. You raise them and you can either breed them or sell them. I only got to play it for a few days but now I am anxiously waiting for HM2 to come back in stock so I can order it. I highly recommend this came to people who have ALOT of time to waste. 5/5!!!
