You cannot deny loving this game...I don't care who you are!!!

I remember the first time I ever playied this game...all those years ago...my friend got a playstation underground demo disc of a few games...like Bushido Blade, but the one that I couldn't help but love immediately was FF7. I even remember the exciting commercial, in which they dramatized it so much that I had to buy it. But I don't regret it, on the contrary I am so happy that I bought this game and I will always cherish it. I don't let things affect me so much, but this game really got to me. To me (and should be to anyone who has played it) it is the all around ultimate RPG ever made, at least storywise. The graphics were beyond their time, at the time, but of course now they are pretty crappy. But that is actually one of the things that makes it so great. It didn't need supercomputer graphics to get you involved in the plot and make you wish you were there. The battle system is also of course outdated too, but that also adds to the retro-appeal to it I believe. It is a must have for any RPG gamer and for anyone who likes great games. Even though Gamespot only rates it at 9.3 (great by their standards) I would have rated it a 9.9, and not a 10 because it left us hanging in the end slightly. After all these years, we finally get to find out what happened in the new FF7 Compilations debuting soon (at time of writing this). I have no doubt in my mind that they will also be of absolute timeless value. But please, don't take my word for it, you must experience it for yourself to truly understand what everyone really means when the say "The greatest game of all time".

THIS GAME RULES! Buy it now then come back and read these reviews! GO BUY IT! If you havent bought it yet... BUY IT! I don't know why but I have 2 favorite things in this game that make it better than even FF8. The first is Red XIII. He is the coolest character! He is like a lion type thing and he is smart too! The second thing is Bahmut. Bahmut is in FF8 but the FF7 bahmuts are better. Oh and one more thing FF7 has a wider variety of enemies over FF8.

FF7 monsters: 90

FF8 monsters: 40

Oh and by the way... you guessed it (or not) but BUY IT!

I sorta just started playing so I'm not very far but so far i reccomend it to anyone that likes a good RPG. It gets you so involved... you'll say: I'm only gonna play for an hour or so... and next thing u know 3 hours have passed. It's so engrossing. The only problem is the save system where u gotta be at a checkpoint... i like to save whenever i want. Other than that, I'm thrilled with my decision to spend the measly $20. Cheaper than on PlayStation, and you get the same game. Just buy a controller for your comp. It's worth it in the long run. I think mine was only like $10... and it's identical to the PSX one. So, if you dont wanna buy a PSX but you're dying to play FF7, spend the $30 total instead of the $130 you spend on the system and the game. I'll be sure to check in with you guys and rate it as i progress.

This is one of the best RPG's I've ever played in my life!!! Anyone who is a diehard RPG player must have this game! With awesome 3-Dimensional graphics and unbelievable game play, this is definately worth the price! If you've ever played either an RPG or a Final Fantasy game before, you haven't seen anything until you've played Final Fantasy VII!

I had played the many final fantasy games on the SNES and when i saw this was coming out for PC i had to get it! Graphics better than the PSX version. The Music RULES!

This game is the best RPG ever made! It takes a long time to beat (60+ hours.) The story is put together great and I liked the small amount of humor it had. The only thing I really didn't like about it was the deformed character graphics. Definitly buy this if you likr RPGs!!!

I would recomend this game to allmost everybody, beautiful graphics and one of the best story line I've ever seen. Its on 4 CDs as you go through the game you learn more about the background Let me put it this way "The More YOU play the more you like it"

The graphics are unbeliveable.

The game is too cool. If you like role-playing games this is the best of them all. Its using your brains and skills that makes it so fun. The graphics are unbeliveable. The miny movies are great. SO Cooooooool

This game couldn't get much better. It has a great story, awsome graphics, and you can never get tired of it. It's only problem is the sound effects(allthough I love listen to the battle music). It took me 50+ hours to finish this game, and I'm sure I missed about 20 secrets. Another great thing is the magic system. You find this stuff called Materia and equip it into your wepons. Some cast magic spells, others power your character's atributes, and one Materia called "Knights of the Round" summons the 13 knights of the round table. This game rules!
