When i got this game i loved it. It had really good graphics and the sound was amazing. Each mission was in a different area, but it was the same main idea. I love the multiplayer where you just try and kill the other team. It is really hard, but it challenges you to become very good. Overall it was very good, but the mission objectives were pretty much the same.
It's alright, but not the best.

When I first got the game, it was "Wow", thinking it would be the best. I have to admit, it is better than some games I have already played, but it just didn't have the zing of the other C&C games.
The computer stinks. I could beat them playing as GDI(good guys), which is hard because NOD(bad guys) has all the best vehicles, units, and structures. I love the Missile Silo. Talk about blitzcrieg on your opponent!! If you want to have about a 65% chance of winning, stick with NOD.
I wouldn't recommend the missions, because they are all too easy or all too hard. I stick to skirmish and internet games myself.
I might venture to say that it is worth an inexpencive look. Maybe even borrowing it from a friend.
All-in-all, I would have to say that the graphics are superb, stories are bad, sound is so-so, and gameplay is dependant on which side you choose(NOD being better).
Don't listen to them

this game is great, you got all the old stuf, improved stuff, and new stuff. You get way more buildings and guys, you can play on a lot more mutiplayer missions(like 25). And best of all you can have a more detailed map that you made up. All and all this is the best C&C I've played yet
I am a semi-professional reviewer!

As I have done many game reviews, I have to look at all aspects of the game. 1. The graphics arn't outstanding or anything new, but still are pretty to look at. 2. The units and structures arn't entirely any thig to talk about. There new, but nothing you wouldn't expect. 3. Everyone has there own thoughts on playability, but I personaly just kept playing and playing, when i got tired of the caampains, the Random map editor kept me playing. That map maker isn't something you see on these kinds of games every day!. 4. The story line is very important. It makes you want to play to find out what happens next. I think Westwood did a very good job with this aspect even though the depth isn't quite there. 5. The final rating is just the feeling of the game. The let's have fun and play god, and shoot em up, chew em up, spit em out, and iononize their carcass kinda fun stays with you the whole game.
I think peoples low reviews are due to the fact that westwood has done so well before and made each new game a new experiance, people have come to ask to much.
I don't own it yet, but C&C Tiberian Sun: Firestorm is supposed to make the game a whole new experiance again and is really cool. Buy it now.
P.S. Amazon.com sells Firestorm.
Explodes in players hands!

I recently received this software and I'll have to say, Very intellegent. Yes, as an experienced C&C player, I notice that the infantry look alike. I do notice that the 3D map astounds all players. Red alert , Yes Was a very good game, but I still recommend that you get Tiberian Sun, because I have had a blast playing ths game! The Multi-player and single mode work well and I think it should get a 5 star.
I recently got the game.

This game has NOTHING new. Even units are identical to those you can meet in the first C&C. Everything got slower, music is even worse that in Red Alert, and just after I finished 4th mission for GDI it told me it "can not read scenario". The more games I play, the more convinced I am, that the first version is the best one. Examples: Star Control, Starcraft, C&C and many others.
Best C&C EVER

If you are considering to buy this trash, I have one thing to say to you: DON'T DO IT!
This game is an abomanation! Westwood completely failed to present a game that was worth all the fuss they have been making about it. The units are nor interesting nor original. They are mainly Red Alert, Dune 2000 and C&C I units with a new design, or worse. The same goes for the buildings, save for the base defenses: they have become much worse since the last C&C. In short: except for what happens when your infantry stays too long in one of the orefields, nothing interesting has been added.
The campaigns are a laugh, only the first few missions from the NOD campaign are somewhat nice, but the rest... Same goes for the story, that part is simply horror beyond imagination The story presented in previous C&C games was absorbing and kept you playing the game until you dropped from exaustion and lack of sleep. Tiberian Sun makes it more easy on you: the story will put you to sleep within the first three minutes of playing the game. the main thing happening in the first part of the game is characters yelling that they are indeed alive, followed by other characters yelling that they refuse to believe that. As for the supposedly improved cutscenes? Well, yes, they have people like James Earl Jones in it now, but I think Darth Vader would be rolling in his grave if he knew what had become of the man who gave him his voice. Years from now, the actors will still be laughed at for appearing in this badly written piece of cheap junk.
For the rest, the music is very poor with only one or two tracks somewhat worth listening.
All in all, this is trully the worst game in Real-time-startegy history. I had more fun playing Dune 2.
A disappointment after Red Alert

I think Red Alert is one of the greatest games of all times so I was really looking forward to Tiberian Sun. Needless to say, I was disappointed. It's hard to pinpoint why this game isn't as good. As stated in other comments, buy Starcraft or Red Alert if you don't have them and pass this one by.
One of the best games---period.

If you dont buy this game you are surely crazy. This game is one of the best games (and I am a true gamer) that I've ever played. Once you sit down, and play the clock keeps ticking and pretty soon you know it, you've been playing for 3 hours. This game is highly addictive, and everytime your at the computer you want to play. Westwood Online has created online gaming, (which is all I play.) All three of my friends and I play all the time online, (but I must warn you...you must have a high speed internet connection to enjoy the online gaming.) This is one of the best games period. So go ahead! Press BUY!
