I had a lot of fun with this game, for the first 30 minutes. Then the sound whent, and there fore the conciences froze up. After about 20 minutes of soundless, half frozen play, the game froze up, and I couldnt even save it. This game is addicting for about the first hour to an hour and a half, but after that it gets tedious.
Your creature is pretty cool, and the best thing is you can find out his stats, what hes thinking, and teach him to be evil(very fun) or good(very hard not to kill a villager from time to time).
All in all, this game is not a game for the light hearted. If you want a lot of control over people and lands, this is deffinately the game for you, just get the latest video card. If you want a game that you can just play for 20 minutes and go away and comeback the next day and pick up where you left off, steer far away from this game.

The game is a lot of fun, if you like games like The Sims. Lot of fun to play online with other people. The one problem with the game is the first two land have two much tutoring and not alot of learn form your own mistakes. Else then that the games is great.
Cool, but Somewhat Tedious

Molyneux's achievement is truly remarkable. No one has done these sorts of things in video games before. During the first two weeks that I owned it, I was continually discovering new features and nuances of the game play. The graphics are brilliant and colorful, the world is rich and subtle, and the characters are hilarious. You can think of this game as a combination of "The Sims" and a real-time strategy game. Likewise, it has all the features that made "Creatures" fun, without all of the headaches of micro-management. While this game is both beautiful and exhilarating, it should be said that it is time consuming and sometimes exhausting. Some evenings I found myself not wanting to play because it was "too much commitment". Molyneux's goal was to make a living, breathing world and he was successful, but the unfortunate side effect is that sometimes that's exactly what we are trying to escape when we play games.
Don't buy it.

Great concept. I'll give it that. But if you want a game so bug ridden you can't even finish it then buy Black and White. They have offered no tech support what-so-ever. The patch has been delay 3 time now and they always have horrible excuses about why it's delayed. First time some ISP in norway or Sweden couldnt connect after the game is patched. Next the need to make sure the patch works with P4 processors.
Like I said if you want a game that doesn't work and has no tech support to speak of then buy this wonderful little gem.
Pass on this one...

I bought this game two weeks after release, and played it relentlessly for two weeks. The unique gameplay and perspective on gaming I believe will revolutionize the god game genre, as well as many other aspects of the industry. The graphics were great, the music incredible, and it all ran like a dream (for a little while) on my P2 400.
During those two weeks, I restarted six times, and reinstalled the game 4 times. I finally figured out why. It was not my system, many other people on the internet were reporting similar issues to my own. I waited for a patch, sent emails (unanswered or auto-responded to) to support, and talked with others on the internet for possible solutions to the problems. Nothing ever would work, and I shelved the game for a month and a half. During that month and a half, Lionhead promised a patch, gave many release dates, and never followed through, always having to add a new feature to the patch and therefore having to test it further. The lack of support is disappointing, at best. Maybe fixing things and releasing a series of patches would have made me feel like Lionhead and EA cared about their customers.
Pass on this one, unless a patch is available, and even then I would be wary
The absolute greatest game I have ever played

After finding out about this game when searching for files on CNet and finding a video on the game, I'd been anticipating it and had extremely high expectations. And when I bought it, I realized that my expectations were actually lower than what was produced.
Though there were some crippling bugs (which thankfully are being fixed as of today), the game is very beautiful, funny, and intriguing in that stroke-your-ego kind of way. I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys plaing games - heck, everyone I've told about the game has not only wanted to play the game, but once they did, became obsessed just like I did-and am. BUY THIS NOW! Oh, and get the patch too.
Fun , Addictive , ............... HARD !!

Black and White is probably one of the most addictive games I've ever played in my gaming life. I just keep playing.. like a void keeping me glued to the seat. The most probable reason for this is it's hard. Making you want to get better ( hardcore gamers.. like me). If you have a busy schedule, or just can't play video games other than pong.. don't get the game because you won't enjoy it to the games full potintial. If you got nothin' to do, and like a challenge.. GET the game. Now for some game details : *Choose a creature that can grow to be up to 30 meters *Manage a village that will worship you *Take over other gods domains *or just leave the game on and let your creature grow
Anyway.. I liked the game, beside the villagers. And I think you might like the game to if you can take the heat.

I bought Black and White mostly because of the hype, and was intriqued by the gameplay. Unfortunately the many technical problems with the game and lack of support from the developer have made the game unplayable after only a couple of weeks. It's become clear that what is on the shelf is a beta version of the game. I stongly recommend holding off on buying this game until a new version is released that has the bug fixes and missing features.
It would be a fun game if you could play it.

The longer you play this game the slower it runs with load and save game times being from five to ten minutes. Lots of crashs to desktop while saving, which means you get to start the game again and endure the tutorials. After four or five times this gets rather annoying. Lionhead and EA have been slow in providing a game patch and have given only usless technical help. It is a shame that a fun game can be ruined by the very people who create it. Well, they did get their money from the sale of the game. Is this all they care about? Maybe they should start to worry about future sales.
A Great Game

This is a very good PC game. It has 1 or 2 bugs but not that many. Overall this is a very good game. I would highly recomend it to anyone who is interesting in buying it. It is not buggy. Very good in fact. Get this game. Me and my friends play it at each others houses and we all love it.
