I don't need to say anything more than this: Simply amazing. The online co-op play was the last addition this franchise needed; the addition of Forge Mode was just over the top. Fantastic game. Makes buying the 360 worth it all by itself.
Best Game Out There

This game is so much fan to play, especially on Xbox Live. The graphics are great, nice fluid controls, and pretty easy to learn. The campaign mode seemed kinda short, but I played it co-op with a friend so that made it much easier. It was a blast, though. For $60, this is a great investment for literally years of fun.
Not perfect but better than good

Pros: Excellent gameplay, graphics, AI, large amounts of enemies on screen at once, Cool campaign (4 player co-op option!) Intense multi-player, cool new weapons, new feature called equipment, and the saved film option is awesome.
Cons: Came up short with the campaign, I was hoping for an actual 'fight' when the slogan was "Finish the fight". I bought the game mostly for the campaign, and I was disappointed with the time it took to beat it.
Worth it!
Disappointing singleplayer experience

I was disappointed with the single player campaign. On the good side the controls are pretty tight. But once the grunts start having grenades, launchers, and turrets I could spend 10 minutes clearing a room and occasionally that last grunt hits me with a grenade and I have to start over. I was actually getting bored while fighting. Compare this to Gears of War or Bioshock where I never wanted to stop playing.
There are just too many phenomenal games coming out right now to spend time playing a mediocre campaign.
The guns and reloading controls were aggravating. The reload button is the same as the switch weapon button so I constantly found myself switching weapons when I would duck behind cover to reload. I would then have to franticly scrounge around for my decent weapon while under fire.
I was also annoyed that the game had 12+ weapons. They wanted to add a couple new weapons each game in the series, but most weapons felt roughly the same in damage and shot spread so I found it a pain to remember which I had equipped and decide if it was worth switching. Several guns look alike to a casual glance and on the tougher gameplay modes most weapons are down to a dozen shots by the time you kill the enemies so you are out of ammo in a room with a dozen guns with a couple shots left each.
Once I switched the game to "easy" mode it became bearable as I could just blow through the game and ammo was then plentiful and I wasn't wasting as much time taking multiple head shots to kill elites.
If you are looking for a good singleplayer experience you may want to look elsewhere.

Well, i'm a new Halo gamer, and i bought Halo 3, along with my Elite. This is my second console, so i have many more games. The graphics of Halo 3 aren't that good.. Gears of War and Rainbow Six Vegas has better graphics. But hey, i'm giving it 5 stars because of it's gameplay. I've passed the game on Normal, and it was pretty fun. I've played a bit online and it's fun as well. All in all, you have to get Halo 3. It's a must have for any 360 owner.

Amazing game. Better than Halo 2, more vehicles and weapons. Campaign is so much more fun and better to understand than halo 2
Possibly the current best First Person Shooter

Halo 3 is a great game. If you're a fan of Halo and Halo 2, this game is a must as it wraps up the story started in the other 2. Even if you've never played Halo before it is definitely worth your time. The campaign mode is challenging and you are able to play it cooperatively with friends over Xbox live or split screen. There are also many different multiplayer modes to suit just about anyone's style of play. The visuals are stunning especially in the campaign. The default game controls work well and are easily gotten used to. Music is good. Matchmaking allows your to meet random players and play on random maps and game modes which is always great for a change of pace. Overall it is one of the best shooters of the year.

this was my first Halo game. I've played a lot of shooters on PCs and a few on the Xbox. This is the most pretty. I think I prefer the grittiness of Gears of War though. This has some interesting aspects that Gears doesn't: ability to edit levels, larger battles, vehicles.
Halo, I love you!

I am a big fan of the Halo series. Halo 1 and Halo 2 are mere childsplay to the splendor and awe of Halo 3. The single player experience is amazing...it concludes (?) the Master Chief's saga but the best reason to plunk down 60 bucks is to play on XBOX live! There are several games and maps to choose from; these vary from small simple maps with 6 players going at each other (rumble pit) (there is even an up close and personal "beat down" similar to a Gears of War "curb stomp") to a massive group of maps with over 16 players (team slayer). You can even change your characters appearance with armor and helmet accessories; more available as you continue to get promoted from apprentice to General. You can even choose the sex of the Character or even the species; I still can't get used to the Master Chief in pink armor or screeching like a girl when fragged. You can communicate with fellow players also..I have yet to encounter a problem with the game. Its the perfect gaming experience! Congratulations Microsoft and Bungie; job well done!
Never played it

from what i heard, this game is good if you want it to be good. You either like it or don't so no one should give it 234 stars. just 1 or 5. Maybe 3 if you didn't play it i don't know. The graphics look good and umm sure. i would buy it if it wasn't $60. or $50. or $35. maybe $25.
