Earthbound: A great game. Well worth the money!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 1 / 1

My first encounter with the fabulous RPG Earthbound was when I was in 4th or 5th grade. My sister, who was a fairly hard-core gamer at the time, had rented it from our local video game rental store. I was immediately hooked! Of course, she was quite the super nintendo hog, but I can't blame her. Even when I wasn't playing, I would spend hours on end watching her play as the storyline unfolded. I even cried when we had to return it to the store. :)
We rented it every chance we got, and it became my favorite game very quickly. Then I learned, much to my delight, that my sister's best friend owned the game! We borrowed it, but I didn't get much of a chance to play it before we gave it back.
A few months later, my dad asked me what I wanted for my birthday. Of course I responded with "Earthbound!"
He looked all over for it, and was told that it was no longer being made! I was absolutely devastated. But I thought there was nothing I could do. I had to keep renting it.
Not long after, we returned to the video rental store, only to find that they no longer carried super nintendo games. We searched the bins of the super nintendo games they were selling, but their only copy had been nabbed.
As you can see, this is THE BEST RPG, in my opinion, on any system. I have Super nintendo, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, and PS2 and have yet to find a game I love as much as this one. The fantasic gameplay and storyline more than make up for the not-exactly-state-of-the-art graphics. This is a must have for ANY gamer! It's worth buying a Super Nintendo just for this game.

I'll be forced to admit that I believe Earthbound is the best game. Of all time.
Perhaps that is a bit much, however. The game is my favorite.

Earthbound, the story of a boy and his fate, friends, and courage, is one of the best Japanese-English translations out there.

The game is one long, hilarious ride of an RPG spoof.

Really, the game is too much for words.

If you are an RPG conniseur, you probably already have this game.

Suffice to say, the fact that Nintendo refused to release the sequel is the reason I sold my N64.

The game is quite nice.

You are Ness a young boy from Onett and you are going on a huge wild ride when during the night a meteor hits the ground nearby your house. You will encounter many battles on the way and you will nee the help of friends you make on your journey. You can use magic and fighting attacks in this game. The storyline is unbelievable and it shows in the gameplay. You just do not want to stop playing the game. This is a game that you could buy the SNES just to play the game, and if you already own SNES than you MUST buy or rent it.

One of the greatest RPGs in the history of Nintendo, I rate EarthBound 5 stars! If you're into imagination, humor, and role playing games, this is your game. It starts in a town of Onett, and you are Ness. (or whatever you decide to name him) A mertiorite just landed in your neighborhood, and while invetigating, Buzz Buzz tells you that you are destined to save the planet from Giygas, an alian planning on taking over the world. As you travel, you make new friends (that you name), discover the world around you, and have some guy pop out of nowhere and take snapshots of you, asking you to say, "Fuzzy pickles." If your looking for something for the dusty SNES in your living room, I strongly advise this game.

The greatest game to grace any console, ever.

I laughed. I cried. I beat the living snot out of a Hippie. What more could a game offer? In a time when most RPG's were just a lot of Swords and Sorcery, this modern day RPG beamed through the darker story-oriented games with a little blast of quirkiness. Instead of Dragons and Imps, you were toe to toe with Hippies and Runaway Dogs. Our hero's, instead of magic, used "PSI," a powerful weapon of psychic energy. Not a sword in sight(unless you feel like beating the ... out of Star Man Supers for hours on end trying to get it...), instead, you wield Baseball Bats and Frying Pans. Go give this game a try. NOW.

THE PERFECT GAME *note the monkeys* OoOoHh AaAaHhHh!!!!

This game is a must buy for SNES. If you love RPGs, get this game. It is well worth the price. The game takes place in a town called a Onett. This small rural town, is the place where an asteroid hits. Once this happens Ness, the main character, finds a small bug from the future in the asteriod. The bug said the he is destined to destroy the evil Gigyas, the root of all evil.

Ness's adventure is filled with monsters and people to join you. Along with Paula, Jeff, and Poo. The game is filled with fun suprises, that will keep you wanting to more. Will Gigyas take over the earth or not? You decide.

I found this game very enjoyable. It takes me back to the good old days of retro-RPG's. Good times.

This game is really fun. It's 2007, around January or February, and I picked up this game. It was in our basement. I had played it before, but I hadn't gotten into it before. So, I just decided to try it again. Once I did, I was easily addicted. I got to the last stage, and I have yet to beat it. It is a great RPG game for someone like me, who has a lot of trouble getting far. It is pretty easy to beat, which is good for someone who isn't an avid gamer. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give this game a 9.
