Modern Fun

battlefield 2 Modern Combat is a fantastic fps! The AI is decent not the best but it is still good. The graphics well let's just say that i felt the bullet go into me by a sniper. though some levels are very frustrating. The level design is great you really feel like your there. The ranking system is also very rewarding. So you don't feel unrecognized after a mission. There are plenty of vehicles tanks, jeeps, helicopter ect. The multiplayer is great! BattleField 2 Modern Combat is a great military shooter and a must buy for a 360 owner.

This game is awesome! The story mode is better than the PC version but it isn't as good as GRAW. The graphics are awesome and much better than the drab graphics of the previous console versions. Enviroments provide the right atmosphere for each mission. Character models look great. One of the best features of this game is on previous consoles , which is the swap with other characters feature which doesn't make the game extremely hard. Using vehicles isn't hard at all, just move the analog stick and there you go. Some missions can be hard, but no matter how hard they are there is definetly a way to get past it, for example the third mission where you are a sniper, you have to snipe every living thing and i'm definetly not the best sniper, so this mission was hard for me but I beat it. This game truly redefines the genre of FPS and is one of the best shooters on Xbox360.

Demo represents the game pretty well, actually

I believe most of the reviews here have already said what needs to be said about this game. I'm only adding my $0.02 because there is a lot of false information in one of the reviews. You don't have to like the game, in the least, but you should really learn more about the game before slamming it prematurely.

Yeah, BridgeTooFar and Backstab are popular maps. And while their intense popularity has declined since BF2's X360 launch, you will still run into those 2 maps more than most others.... unless you use the server filters EA provides in the game and just completely avoid those maps. You can select any gametype and map you want to play in BF2. Select CTF or Conquest mode, select the map you want to play, filter, select a server from the search results and go. And if you never want to play the same map twice in a row, just select a server with "all maps" as the map rotation method and not "vote". Each and every game session will load up a new map and no one can vote for a specific map. And if the rotation comes around to a map you just can't stand playing, just hop out, search again, and join another session. It's just that easy.

When you first start playing BF2 online, you are *not* playing against everyone else. You cannot play against those who has significantly ranked up until you rank up yourself. You start off playing against those at lower ranks and you will even be blocked from joining sessions your friends are in if they are ranked higher and you're just starting out. This will keep you from playing against those who have had the game for many months ahead of you. And that's just the ranked servers. You can ALWAYS play on an non-ranked server. Those servers are for folks just starting out, those who don't care about ranking up and just want to have fun, and anyone needing a break from the ranked servers. Sure, you could run into a person here or there who has been playing for a lot longer than you on an unranked server, but most folks on those servers are laid back and/or new to the game. Either way, the game is fun and you're definitely not thrown to the wolves as soon as you get online.

I would also like to throw in that my friends and I playing BF2 online have wives, children, and responsible jobs. Anyone who thinks that only those with gaming skills are unloved, pasty basement-dwellers is just looking for an excuse to explain away why they suck at online games. Just play the game and relax. You can go for more competition on the ranked servers or chill on the non-ranked. You can charge toward the enemy full on, hang back and snipe, protect a flag, ride around in a Hummer, man the 120mm gun in a tank, etc. BF2 will allow you to play how you want. Protecting flags and sniping can get you just as many points as taking on the other team head on. And if you're playing on a non-ranked server, you probably won't care about points, anyway (not to mention the fact that the ranked servers make it very easy to rank up for the first 4-5 ranks).

I have had 3 or 4 disconnects while playing BF2 on the 360, but that has been over many months now and I'm used to that happening much more often in online PC games. I personally don't mind the infrequent disconnects when considering that BF2 for the 360 is the smoothest shooter I have ever played online (PC, Xbox, or 360). Very rarely do I see lag and even then, it's usually only for a second. I've seen massive lag kill many an online game, shooter or MMORPG, and BF2 looks and runs like a champ on the 360. If you're having major lag issues with this game, you need to talk to your ISP (and make sure your router is Xbox Live compatible- you can find a full list of XBL compatible routers at xbox.com). I play with guys all over the country and I've never heard anyone complain about frequent lag or disconnects in BF2.

The campaign is not much more than training for the online game. It will give you missions that force you to use all of the various weapons and vehicles. This is one of the best ways to learn how to master BF2. I played the campaign for a few missions to get used to the controls and then jumped online. That worked out pretty well. Then you can go back to the campaign when you need a break from the online game and learn new tricks (the campaign is a good place to learn how to fly the helicopters in BF2, for example). As far as not respawning, you don't need to. When you get killed in the offline game, you just switch to the closest soldier on your team. If you're wounded, you can heal up or just manually switch to another soldier using the "hot swap" feature, only available in the offline game (you just point to another soldier and hit the Y button). Again, that easy. The offline game is really only difficult when you get to the last mission. That one was somewhat brutal, but I did a happy dance for a few minutes when I finally beat it, so it was definitely rewarding (and you'll get a decent chunk of achievement points).

If you throw your sucker in the dirt every time someone shoots you online, maybe you should avoid BF2. Otherwise, BF2 is a very fun, addicting game that has something for (almost) everyone. You can make the game difficult and frustrating if you want, or you can be smart about it and enjoy all the game has to offer.

Must Have FPS for multiplayer

First off if you even remotely like FPS and have xbox live dont ask just buy. Imagine running around as either SF or combat engineer, sniper, Assault soldier or as a medic, and being able to jump into any vehicle with a team mate and handing it to the 12 others on the opposite team. Youre a sniper you jump into the blackhawk with 3 others your pilot buddy hovers over a high rise building you jump out and airborne onto the top and start having fun, a enemy helo blows three of your buddies up that were riding in a hummv so you whip out your laser guider and lock in on the helo and blow him out of the sky. Just a taste of the fun chaos that is possible with the game. throw in a free download that adds snowmobiles and more maps and your on your way to lots of hours of battlefield madness. The only flaw is when you kill someone the screen zooms in and shows your position ie if your a sniper it will zoom in the building where you shot from, which sucks for the player who likes to be sneaky and go through a lot of trouble to get a good spot, the campaign is good with a nice ranking system similiar to the online one. If youre married dont get it cause you might start negliting the significant other and end up with some divorce papers, remember its all about willpower.

Intense fun!

A great game, thousands of people are still playing online. Most online sessions have at least 20 people playing at one time and the battles are intense! I rarely notice any lag online and have never lost the connection.

This game requires a lot of strategy, you really have to work as a team to get anywhere. The Xbox360 achievements are extremely challenging to get but really inspire you to play the game better. To get them all you have to master every soldier class and vehicle. The achievements are split fairly evenly between multiplayer and single player modes.

The single player mode is alright but you'll probably spend most (if not all) of your time playing over Xbox Live. This is my favourite Xbox360 game and I highly recommend buying it if you're up for a challenge.

I will admit I haven't played the single player much. After getting it, I played single player for a few hours, and then once I was ready for Live! I logged in. I never went back. Battlefield 2 is a game that was meant to be played in Live. I haven't gone back to Call of Duty or Ghost Recon since buying this great game. The online game play consists of many unique maps and there are always plenty of people online to play with (a problem on many other games). Buy the game. You won't be dissapointed. It is the most requested game on our website right now.

All right,
This is a game that requires dedication and many questions to figure out many of the tricks gamers use to find and kill their opponents. Trust me, to have fun and not become angry for getting smashed every two seconds you must play and play. But of course, that is why the ranking system exists. As you play and earn points you tend to get promoted. As you advance in the ranks you need medals. So, if you cheat getting medals, you will be in a world of hurt.
If we talk about the server issues. GOD! someone help EA games out. The servers become so bogged down on the weekends it is not even funny. And most when the XBOX 360 consoles were available in stores and the game was really discovered by the new users. So come on, add more servers or something. This game is not going out of fashion anytime soon. Help us by helping yourselves EA.

Online play is where this game really shines, and while the single player is a joke compared to the live version, you can still use it to practice your shootin or drivin skills. When it comes to playing people who kick your butt well sometimes your that person blowing up groups of people with tanks or helicopters. If you can take a little punishment while giving a little then this won't be a factor. Personally I enjoy the clan fights where you create a group of experienced friends and take it to another group. So if your into lots of mayhem on the battlefield then this game is for you. If not, I hear they have Uno online.

Look, I like first person shooters and pride myself in having played most of the great games on all systems. But this game is one that some how was overlooked by me and a number of my gamer friends. I just bought this game for the x360 and it's insane action. I'm only 4 levels deep on the campaigne mode and have heard that the online play is sick. Just for this game i have decided to get my broadband internet hooked up again. If you liked "Black", "Killzone", "Ghost Recon", you're going to like this game.
