A Disappointing Game

2 Rating: 2, Useful: 2 / 3

This game has to be one of the worst baseball games on the PlayStation. For one thing the game gets stuck A LOT. As for home runs, it's got an emphasis on those. I like hitting home runs, but not when they're obviously exaggerated. The gameplay is often lame, as a player is halfway toward home, but then he runs back to third, on both teams that happens sometimes! I do not recommend this game very much.

I was unsure weather to by this game or wait until every thing else came out but I'm glad I bought this game play is good players are more realistic especially in clutch situations. Let's say Top 8th 2 Out Runners at second and thrid Derek Jeter at the Plate against some Jabroni pitcher,BOOM two run double. I think you'll love this game. Play-by-Play Still the best Jim Hughson & Buck Martinez do a Great Job. Quick Tip: Don't Just Skip To All-Star Mode you'll get tagged

Awful!

There are a few good things, but overall it's a very bad game. I like the addition of legends like Cy Young. Also the graphics are good but nothing fantastic. The worst part of the game is baserunning. There's only one button for either sending a runner forward or back, so you get with situations where runners end up going to the same base and there is nothing you can do about it. This is very annoying. Also, before every game you play, you have to save the game (which takes a while), then after the game it has to load. It's a bad game!

MADE FOR KIDS

It appears EA has lost some of the realism that it maintained in the past in respect to previous baseball games. In my opinon, Triple Play 99 was a lot better than the latter two (TP 2000 & 2001). TP 2001 has some good features, but the new animation shows that this particular game was targeting the age group between 7-13. Each outstanding play, or better yet each outstanding play that the game considers was a good play is rewared with too much animation, thus prolonging the game. Some recomendations as a fellow gamer are as follows: lose the extra animation(ex.Double Play highled over the entire Screen after a DP was made & so on), make the pitch control easier to handle, homeruns are far too easy to hit escpecially in easy mode, and on hard mode, well there was just not enough imagination done. I am however very pleased to see that bunts are a lot easier to defend and I also apprecaite the volocity of the fastball on All-Star mode. Triple Play 2001 should have kept the batting practice mode, which unfortunately was omitted from this game. In additon a feilding practice mode should be developed. The unfair trades should be eliminated. I am one who likes to maintain actual rosters with the actual current season. Some trades which have been made in reality are deemed unfair on Triple Play 2001 and therefore will cause roster moves which alter the game itself. One feature that hasn't been brouht out in a long while and one that many gamers would like to see is to have team fights. Overall I give the game a rating of 3 on the scale of 1-5. In closing lose the aniamtion, adults like to play the games too. After all, we are the ones with the money not the kids. Select and prepare your product for all target markets. Realism has been the essence of most EA sporting games which made them stand out above the rest. Stick to it..... A faithful EA game Buyer.

EA SPORTS has created a wonderful game here. The wonderful graphics and smooth gamplay truly make it a great buy. From the minute you put the vibrant disc into your Playstation Console you know you are going to be hooked. The game starts out with a cool movie which the graphics will blow your mind. Then after the movie, you will be taken to the Triple Play 2001 main menu. This were you pick what type of game you would like to play. You can play a Single Game, Season, Playoffs, Big League Challenge, or Home Run Legends. Each of them equally fun. You will see when you enter a game mode that the game is pretty tough, but you'll get used to it. You will also find out that there are controls for basically everything you would want to do during a regular baseball game. You can choose between all types of choices, including stadium choices, camera angles and many more. This game is most definitely well worth buying, and I hope you have just as much fun playing it as I do.

Very cool, good graphics, better that last year....

This is one of the best sports games available. It is up to date with all the players, has great graphics, and is really fun. The announcers know everything that happens. You get cool rewards like fast players, strong arm, invisibility , and a lot more. Plus you get to play with all the legendary players like Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, and lots more. Overall this game is really good.

Not a good game at all. Please I don't need to smack a home run everytime at bat! Not for a true fan, but if your into the arcade end of sports games, then check it out.

Pretty good game, but still kinda sucks.

The best part is that you can "earn" legends such as Babe Ruth, Gehrig, Aaron, Mays, Satchel Paige, Cy Young, etc. Other than that, there isn't anything special. HEY ELECTRONIC ARTS, HOW ABOUT SOME "ALL TIME" TEAMS?
