Classic Game

THis is the amazing game that started the genre of "survival horror" and created the interest in fans for such games. This game is pretty old now, but if you haven't played it yet you'll surely want to give it a try. The point to this game is simple: survive a mansion full of zombies, while solving puzzles along the way. What makes this game a challenge is the fact that you have to fend off enimies with a very limited amount of health and life. ANother challenge is that occasionally enimies will pop out and give you a surprise which you must quickly defend against. ANother great thing is that on this version of the game you get a special edition of Resident Evil and a harder difficulty level.

The best one in the series...

Sadly... the subject is true. This is the only Resident Evil worth ANYONE'S time. It's really challenging, and long enough to satisfy the gamers that crave those 11-hour RPGs. Other good games to check out are Parasite Eve or Silent Hill.

this puts the most recent code veronica x to shame. it has the best story and best scare factor. sure, the graphics may lack a little, but its the original, first of its kind. i recommend playing this game before playing any more re titles so the stories actually make sense.

This game will keep you up all night, it is so fun, i played it at the age 10, i was screaming, i was up all night trying to pass it, my brother took it away from me when i was more than halfway through, i am still trying to find it in the stores, i am dying to play it again, it looks almsost real, it is deffentally a game i would recomend

Ok............This game is the best of all resident evil games. dont buy this 1 though. buy the original.its a lot better.

I will confess I never finished this game, but thankfully I won't need to curtsey of the RE-make for GameCube. I had originally started this series with RE 2, and decided to back track to the first one for the sake of finding out who Chris was, and why Claire was looking for him. However the horrid control, horrid graphics were bearable, but the lousy voice acting was not. I couldn't stand it because here was a great classic B-Movie story (and I love B-movies) with F-Movie acting. Everything about this game became cheesy. I then bought the director's cut hoping for better voice acting... well at least I got my wish a couple weeks ago. I then bought the dual shock edition.... yeah, I'm kind of bitter, but I won't hold a grudge because Capcom and Nintendo provided me with what I wanted recently. But this game could have been better, even for the time it was released; at least the voice acting could have been better. Now that the remake is available with all the good things about the original intact, plus some fiercely improved graphics, sound and dialogue (although I miss the "Master of Unlocking" line) there is no need to bother with this game.

the original and gamcube versions are much better!

First off this game takes off some of the best bosses and many of the good areas. The original and gamecube versions are much much better. Get them instead of this one or if your a collecter get this one but dont bother playing it inless you dont like the other longer versions. And that dead guy you find at the biggining wont have that tape you would find on the other games which is a big downfall well not really but still. it can still be quite scary but not as and since its the playstation version the graphics arn't as good as the gamecube(im sad to say this seeing as I prefer the playstation to the gamecube). Irt just stinks

I first bought bought resident evil online and played it for the first time ever. It could get old after playing it through both scenarios 2 times each but playing through it the first time is intense for either charater. You dont carry many weapons though and there is not much ammo in the whole game to collect I always run out of ammo before the end. And i cannot figure out how to use the poison rounds the gameplay is fun but the voiceovers dont match really what a character is saying. My favorite charater is Jill because she carries more weapons than Chris. I like all the resident evil games for different reasons i will list them.

I got this game at a video store recently, and they sell it for only $10.00, so I snatched it, thinking it was gonna be good. And then it was!

GAMEPLAY: 10/10 Awesome! you're in a mansion with zombies and lots of monters (literally) and you've got a lot of weapons!

GRAPHICS: 100/10: The graphics add to the scares. and plus, Jill has a nice ass.

Dialouge: .5/10 HORRIBLE! From Wesker's "Stay alert" and "GET AWAY FROM HIM! HE'S INSANE!" To Barry's "What IS this?" amd "Well, Let's hope this isn't Chris's blood!"

ENTERTAINMENT VALUE: 9/10 It's awesome!

So go buy this today!
