This game will at least be a contender for the most fun you have had on the DS. The graphics are great for a hand-held game, and possibly the best on the DS. They've made some subtle changes from the original that you will gradually notice as you play through the game, but they don't really affect the game play much. If anything they made the changes just to make this feel different from the original. The sound is essentially the same as the original both in terms of effects and music. The developers made good sue pf the touch screen but also let you use just the directional pad and buttons if you want to. The new Wi-Fi connectivity is neat if you're near a friend or something. There are two things that really tick me off at times, one being that you can't customize your upstairs, and the other is that the villagers don't have nearly as many jobs as the original did to keep you busy. Overall i would say this a very solid sequel with some minor drawbacks, and you'll still have a great time with it if you liked the original.

This game is one of the best of the best. At the beginning of the game you create your character and name your town. Then after you move into your town filled with animals (your a human though.... you might feel a little left out.) and you work for a raccoon dude who makes you run 2 or 3 errands and the world is yours to explore. You can create clothing, buy clothing, create a flag, and decorate your house. Speaking of house you have to pay off a series of mortgages one bigger after the other (who would have thought of hat? =) and each mortgage you pay off the bigger it gets. You can also buy items to decorate your house from the raccoon. You could even buy a juke box which you fill with music from a dog that comes one certain night at one certain time. your animal friends can move out of your town though. But others can move in. I'm not crazy about the wifi though. I've still left a lot out but you can see more reviews from me. Just look for the name TP.

As the title entails this is a genius game. Plenty to do but should be played in short bursts- otherwise it'll get boring. You know what made this game for me? The "stalk market". (clever play on words) You can buy turnips from a pig lady on sundays ('cause the game's in real time) and you can sell them to the town market for a profit. The prices that turnips sell for fluctuate daily so you have to try to buy low, sell high. I didn't explain that well, but it's pretty cool. A big improvement from the gamecube version. Buy it.

it teaches all about civilization and you get to manage your own city, buy interesting stuff, and plant trees, cut them down, find rare fossils, and make your items golden.

When I first bought this game I really wasn't that impressed, but as I played longer and figured more things out, I became hooked. Now, I have to play it every day to see what is going on and what I can find. Once you pick it up, it is VERY hard to put down. I think ANYONE (any age) who has a DS should have this game!!

This game is definitely fun. It's nice to explore all the little intricacies in a nonlinear fashion, and I'm similarly enthralled by the changing seasons and the way all the gameplay is in "real time".
The only negative is that the very loose gameplay can get a bit repetitive. On the other hand, it can be equally addicting.
A great game with tons of replay value, especially if you take some time off to avoid burnout.

This game is really fun. The only thing I don't like about it is that it is very repetitive. You have to try to pay off your house and the only way you can really make enough money to pay your house off is to fish. So a lot of times all I do is fish and then pay some money to the bank. But the characters are fun to interact with. I am giving it four stars just because it is so repetitive
Kids love this game!

Bought this game as a gift for 8 yr old son. 10 yr old sister already had it. They both love the game. Play it all of the time, whether by themselves or visiting each other's lands. After approximately a month of playing they still haven't lost interest.
I really enjoy this fun game.
