If u are expecting a NHL 2001 or a Madden quality game, then do not buy this game, i was severly disappointed at the subpar graphics and the choppy gameplay. i could not play more than two games and i traded it in for other games. this is a definite dont buy.
A Start... a slow one at that

I pre ordered this game about a month before it was released. When I received it I was extremely pleased to finally get a lacrosse video game. After two or three game I found myself getting a little bored with the game as the "real" action was very limited. As I said it's a start for the lacrosse die hard but definitely needs to be upgraded in the near future for people to really get into the game. The game need much better graphics and a large dose of realism and "intellegence" for the core sports gamers to enjoy it.
Blast Lacrosse is a start

However, lots of things need to be worked out before this game becomes great. First of all the graphics are not good at all. This reminds me of the old Super Nintendo/Sega games maybe. The action is also a little bit too fast. So if you are looking for realistic lacrosse, this is not the game to get. The sound on this game drives me nuts after a while. The announcer can be funny at times, but after a few games his voice makes you want to kick your Playstation. At least you can choose music instead of the commentary if you wish. The gameplay is a little bit too fast. The checks are not as good as they can get in the real game. But all in all, the game is actually fun. It's not a game where I am going to get hooked on, but when I get bored I have no problem popping it into the Playstation and playing it. If you aren't a lacrosse fan, I recomend renting this game from wherever. If you are a lacrosse fan, I still recomend renting it, but chances are you are going to want to buy it. Hopefully, the next lacrosse game will be a little bit more realistic, but this is a start.
At least its a Lacrosse game.....

The good: its a lacrosse game, the computer is challenging, the announcer is the best in any game ever. The bad: graphics, player models, control etc. etc. etc. What we need: A company to put time into developing a realistic lacrosse simulation for both the indoor and outdoor game.
Horrible graphics, but I will give them 3 stars for trying

I am very disappointed at the quality of graphics. We need to get EA Sports to make a lax game. This game falls short in a lot of areas. The gameplay is OK, but they should have put this on the PS2 and added outdoor MLL, and maybe the top 20 college teams. That would improve the gameplay, graphics and options. I agree with another reviewer that the graphics are super nintendo level.
Not as good as it could be but still fun

Ok, I have heard some bad reviews and I have heard some good reviews about this game. Today I went ahead and bought it and at first I was dissapointed. The player models are kind of blocky and the commentator is just annoying. Also one of the big things that irked me was that ALL THE GUYS ARE LEFT-HANDED! Enough of the bad stuff lets talk about the good stuff. Blast Lacrosse is fun to play. If you liked NBA Jam and lacrosse then you'll like this. I would really recommend renting this game first though. Maybe we'll get a simulation lacrosse game soon on PS2, X-Box, or Gamecube!
Very Very Disapointed

I have been playing lacrosse for about 5 years, and when I saw that they were coming out with a lacrosse game I had to get it. I preordered it and it came in the mail today. The graphics are not very good, along with the gameplay. I figured the game would be really good compared to most of the recent games that have come out for playstation, instead it looks like something that could have come out the first year of playstation. The only reasons I gave it 3 stars is because it is lacrosee....and because its fun for a little while.
Nice try

Well I have waited 17 years for a game like this and it hasn't quenched my thirst so to speak. The graphics are a la super nintendo, in fact the players look like robots, it doesn't follow the rules of lacrosse and everybody is left handed. All these things being said, and Im sure I could go on, you still must go out and buy this even if you use it as a coaster! We have to let them know that lacrosse games can sell, then perhaps we can pick and choose between different games like those other inferior sports. Lax rules, but this game doesn't. My final thought is actually a question. Who consulted these guys on this game a professional wrestler and Ruprecht the Monkey Boy? Sorry Acclaim but with as far as we have come with video games you guys brought us back to Atari. In fact the guys run along side one another like the old square headed Atari football. You know what I am talking about if your first stick was an SL2, Sam, or Laser Lite. Viva Old School.
Great Game

I just played this game at my friends house and it does really kick something serious. thats all i can tellu for now but maybe EA Sports could make a game soemthing like NCAA Lacrosse 2002 or something with college lacrosse field action. maybe a couple of new ideas could be something like you use both hands, actual rotations of players, fast break transitions and settled situations, behind the backs etc. include the cascade helemets, the different types of sticks like warrior, brine, stx, debeer.
if EA could make a game like that then it wood be like the best EA game of all time. I sure hope an EA Sports guy is reading this right now...
