Way to go Acclaim. After seeing my Philly Wings win this year's NLL title, I had high hopes for this game! I was hoping for something on par with NHL-style games, since it's played in the SAME ARENA, but instead, we get something that looks like it was a poor reject for NFL Blitz. What a waste!

The animation is etrocious, I mean, you could have actually animated the lacrosse ball going INTO the net, instead of having it just stop in front of the opening like it hit a pane of plexiglass. The players are poor as well.

The AI is equally bad...Geez, even my team doesn't know when to break up the floor towards goal. The possibility of a fast break is non-existant unless you lead it. And then in your offensive zone, your team is so busy fighting?!? with opposing players, the chances for a one-timer are rare. Quick passes are an impossibility, since your must hold the pass button forever to get a straight-line pass instead of a stupid lob.

Then, you have the lack of RULES! NLL is supposed to be a strategy game, with a 30-sec. shot clock, crease rules and power plays, etc. Since when should players freakin' EXPLODE in a real-world sports game?!?! Also, the ball does go out of play on occasion in NLL over the walls, so that would have been nice.

Also, it's impossible to sub players in without waiting a full 30 seconds for the menus to load. That's just sad. NLL's real-life sub-on-the-fly system makes the game more exciting.

The NLL should be embarrassed to have it's players on this poor game. The only redeeming quality is the voice of Scott Ferrall, one of the best announcers in the country, but even he gets old after a while. Please EA Sports, save us from this lacrosse hell with a REAL NLL game or an college outdoor lacrosse game!

**HELLLLLL YEAH******

This game will most likely have wretched graphics compared to my PS2 and Dreamcast,. but this is a lacrosse game which i have been waiting for 4 years. Once video game creators see how many Blast Lacrosse will sell on crappy ole playstation one they will develope a great outdoor one for Ps2, or dreamcast, or gamecube.

o yea, for those of you going to the College semi-finals this weekend in maryland,.. see ya there,. im going.

OK

I was greatly looking forward to this game until I saw the screenshots on Acclam.com. The screenshots do not look as great as they could, and as a lacrosse fan that greatly disapoints me. Will I buy this game yes, and why, so that video game companys will see that their is a market for lacrosse video games in the future. And as to all those people who say that they should have made a field game, personaly since I play both I believe that they made the right choice in making it box. Box is much faster and better suited for the arcade action that accliam was looking for. I only wish that accliam spent a little more time in development and published it for the playstaion 2, but oh well.

Not too happy

If u are expecting a NHL 2001 or a Madden quality game, then do not buy this game, i was severly disappointed at the subpar graphics and the choppy gameplay. i could not play more than two games and i traded it in for other games. this is a definite dont buy.

A Start... a slow one at that

I pre ordered this game about a month before it was released. When I received it I was extremely pleased to finally get a lacrosse video game. After two or three game I found myself getting a little bored with the game as the "real" action was very limited. As I said it's a start for the lacrosse die hard but definitely needs to be upgraded in the near future for people to really get into the game. The game need much better graphics and a large dose of realism and "intellegence" for the core sports gamers to enjoy it.

Blast Lacrosse is a start

However, lots of things need to be worked out before this game becomes great. First of all the graphics are not good at all. This reminds me of the old Super Nintendo/Sega games maybe. The action is also a little bit too fast. So if you are looking for realistic lacrosse, this is not the game to get. The sound on this game drives me nuts after a while. The announcer can be funny at times, but after a few games his voice makes you want to kick your Playstation. At least you can choose music instead of the commentary if you wish. The gameplay is a little bit too fast. The checks are not as good as they can get in the real game. But all in all, the game is actually fun. It's not a game where I am going to get hooked on, but when I get bored I have no problem popping it into the Playstation and playing it. If you aren't a lacrosse fan, I recomend renting this game from wherever. If you are a lacrosse fan, I still recomend renting it, but chances are you are going to want to buy it. Hopefully, the next lacrosse game will be a little bit more realistic, but this is a start.

At least its a Lacrosse game.....

The good: its a lacrosse game, the computer is challenging, the announcer is the best in any game ever. The bad: graphics, player models, control etc. etc. etc. What we need: A company to put time into developing a realistic lacrosse simulation for both the indoor and outdoor game.

Horrible graphics, but I will give them 3 stars for trying

I am very disappointed at the quality of graphics. We need to get EA Sports to make a lax game. This game falls short in a lot of areas. The gameplay is OK, but they should have put this on the PS2 and added outdoor MLL, and maybe the top 20 college teams. That would improve the gameplay, graphics and options. I agree with another reviewer that the graphics are super nintendo level.
