RollerCoaster Tycoon..Not bad!!

I bought Rollercoaster Tycoon a long time ago. This game is pretty exciting for anyone who dreams of running their own theme park. You can build from over 14 different rollercoaster plus you can build your own race tracks and alot of other exciting rides. But the fun doesn't end there. You have to put up food stands, bathrooms, trash cans, shops, and some nice scenery to keep your guests happy. You have to build thrilling Rollercoasters for the intense guests but if you build a Rollercoaster that has too much intensity, nobody will ride it. That's the challenging part of the game. But, not all people like Rollercoasters. A lot of people prefer gentler rides such as Go Karts or the Merry-Go-Round. You can also hire Entertainers to help keep your guests happy. When your guests are complaining about how long your line is just pop in an Entertainer right there and it will cheer up the guests and in no time they'll be on the ride. You also must hire Mechanics, Guards, and Custodians to clean up the park and take out the trash! If you don't build good rides and don't have enough scenery and shops then your guests will be unhappy and destroy your benches and trash cans...then you gotta replace them. You can help stop vandalism by hiring a few Guards that patrol the park. So those are just the main reasons why I like this game. You can build about jsut anything you can imagine. So why did I give this game 4 stars? Well, because this game gets very boring after a while. I'm into multiplayer games like Quake 3 Arena or StarCraft. But whenever I come home from a theme park I wish I still had this game. I may even buy it again. Trust me, this game is a hit for all you people who like to be the boss.

This Game is extremely good but not in all ways, it dosent have the same great 3D graphics as the Theme Park World it has all other things it's a bit hard but your having so much fun running the park that it stops being hard, the sound is really cool, this 3D sound that is, and the realism in the rides is superb the only thing i have to say about it is(as i just said) that the graphics arent good enough, for my taste at least and the thing not being able to try out the rides in 1.st person. in those ways i rather recommend the Theme Park Worlds but this is the managing game not Theme Park.

An Excellent Game, Fun and Addictive

RollarCoaster Tycoon is an excellent game. It is not too expensive, but offers hours of fun. The concept is to build an amusement park in all types of landscapes and obtain a certain goal.(1,200 guest with a 600 or higher park rating in 4 years for example.
It is fun building your own design and watching it run. You choose from 12 different styles, as well as other rides such as Swinging Ships, Ferris wheels etc.
The game is very easy to beat but it takes a while to beat all the levels. But once you do you reac the MEGA PARK scenario.
I have long beaten the game, yet there are some differences. In real life you have to pay alot more interest for the bank, rollar coasters cost millions not thousands, rides do not "break down" as often, and rides hardly ever have crashed, and you are going to pay your staff more than $35.00 a month.
Yet it s still one of my favorite games. Try to build a ride with an intesity level of more than 30.00.

This has to be the best game i have ever played, and i have played a lot of games! This game is so addictive, i think about it all the time. During school i think about some way i can build a better theme park! The graphics are okay. Frame rates are good at first but when you start building a lot, and more people come in, they start to drop. It has pretty good sound. Lots of detail such as people screaming when they go down a hill.

I've had this game since christmas and i still devote all my free time to it- i once had a 9 hour sitting. You will play this game for ages and ages.

Please-buy this game if you have a computer-it is absolutly necessary to have this work of art on you hard drive-you will never take it off.

Gives New Meaning to "Cyber-Space"!

In this awesome computer sim, you can control a roller coaster dynasty. As owner and designer of all the rides and attractions, you call the shots for every detail of this game. One of the best features is the ability to create the most death defying, gut wrenching roller coasters ever. From winning awards of "The Tidyest Park in the Country" to "The Best Roller Coasters", this game takes the cake! A feature I like is the power and speed ability to launch rides "To Infinity and Beyond!" So therefore, you can build a roller coaster with only 2 track pieces and put it on power launch mode, and watch customers fly into Cyber-Space! So, if you want a great game to satisfy the addictive conrol freak within, Roller Coaster Tycoon is for you!

Worth the addiction

This game is incredible! I am in competition with my 11 and 9 year old sons for the best theme park. So far, they are in the lead. I stay up after they go to bed to try to beat them. This is a great game for youngsters and adults. It beats the blood and guts of many other games. The thrill really is becoming the tycoon. I highly reccommend this game for anyone. If you have the time and desire to find and explain to the youngsters about some minor grammatical errors, the game is even more worthwhile.

roller coaster tycoon is probably the coolest game i've played. Its got parks, rides and so many other cool stuff. the graphics are insane and you can be the conquer of amusment parks with this game.

The Most Addictive Game Ever!

The object of this game is to make the biggest most fun theme park ever. There are also a number of scenerios to pass that are really challenging. In your theme park you can build tons of stuff such as rollercoasters (obviously), mini golf courses, food and balloon stands, haunted and twisted houses, ferris wheels, merry-go-rounds and much much more. You can also build a number of water rides and tranportation rides like a monorail. I have only played this game with the "Corkscrew Follies" expansion pack so I don't know the features for just the regular game. You have to hire mechanics, to fix the rides if they break, handymen, to mow the grass water the garden, empty the garbage cans and cleanup barf, policemen, to keep visitors from vadilizing your property and entertainers dressed in outfits to make the expierience more fun. Watch as you earn more and more money as visitors pile up outside the entrance of your theme park. This is a great game you have to get!

Addictive game that lasts

Some games (such as The Sims) are addictive at first but quickly lose their appeal. Rollercoaster Tycoon is a game that keeps you interested because you continually discover new strategies. Furthermore, if you enjoy role-playing a computer game, Rollercoaster Tycoon allows you to "theme" your parks by changing the colors, names, scenery, etc..

If you enjoyed games such as SimCity, Age of Empires and Civilization I would recommend this game because it follows a similiar strategy and planning mechanism. The add-on packs (Corkscrew Follies and Loopy Landscapes) add some interesting components but are not recommended unless you enjoyed this game immensely. For your best bet, since the game has been out for awhile, I would wait a few months when the game will be sold with the expansion packs added on to it.

The internet site allows you to download various rollercoaster designs and there are fan websites set up that also allow you to download their designs. So far, with the patches, I have not encountered any game crashes...

A game that remains entertaining longer than most and powerfully addictive the first month you purchase it. ;)

My 8 year old daughter wrote this review. this game is fun and cool! I will tell you why. you can name your roller costers and other rides . you can name people that come to "your" park too! they all aren't just roller costers! and heres somthing cool! you can drown people and they die on a accident on a roller coster. and they. you can barf too. you can hire lots of handy men. if you have played any tycoon before you will catch on quickly! :-) I think you will like this game! :-)
