A great way to experience the fun and excitement of building and creating your own theme park. Many different areas and places to choose from, so you'll never get board of playing. i play almost all day, and I never get tired of it. Don't think you're wasting money when you buy this, because your not. It's worth it!

I remember when Rollercoaster Tycoon first came out a while ago, and I rushed to the store and picked up my copy brimming with anticipation. And at first, it was everything I hoped it would be. You can do pretty much anything with all of the rides and shops, which was fun, but the weather effects are annoying. I completed the first five or so scenerios, and was expecting even better environments as the game went on, but I was wrong. It was more of the same-green land and trees;green land and trees. And soon after, since you have to get so far in the game to build some of the cool types of rollercoasters, you get bored with building the paks themselves, let along the scenerios. All in all, this game will last you a month, mabye two(if you play it consistantly). However, at first, the game is really fun and if you are willing to pay the money for domething that will entertain you for a little while, by all means buy it.

Absolutely wonderful!!

I love this game so much! It's the best computer game I've ever played. You can build all sorts of awesome rides and shops, hear what you guests think, do advertising campaigns for you park, and all sorts of stuff! I definitely recomend this to anyone who wants a great and fun game to keep them busy! It's awesome, I promise!

It is all of the fun of running a Roller Coaster Park without getting paid for it. Just hours of fun. We bought this as a gift for my brother in law and now he will never stop playing it. I can always tell a great game by the length of time anyone in our family spends on it. This one is a keeper. You have to keep up on all of the daily mainteance on running a park. It is a MUST BUY !

Far From Perfect, But Worth It

Roller Coaster Tycoon is quite the little game, and one that is certainly suitable for the whole family. For the enthusiast of constuction-style games, however, there are several glaring flaws.

The game's scenarios go from too simple to simply obnoxious; it seems like the game designers felt a powerful need to have theme parks constructed in all kinds of bizarre locations.

Once one overcomes the irritation of the terrain (ex. decides not to care how stupid a park built entirely on water looks) the conditions for winning a scenario are far, far too simple. When the goal is to have x guests in the park by year three, and by the opening of year two the player has already far surpassed that goal, perhaps an option should exist to win prematurely and move on to a more interesting park, no? On the enjoyable maps, this is never an issue; there's always a new joy to add to the park. However, there are maps that I personally would choose not to play at all, except that in order to unlock further maps, one HAS to.

The other big problem with this game, from my perspective, is the poor pathing of the guests. The best way to illustrate the problem is this: download one of the "actual park" maps at the RCT website. Play it for five minutes. Watch all of the people scream at how lost they are and how badly they want to go home. This isn't a problem in very small parks, but when parks start to grow, a player has to be very Spartan with pathing options.

When all is said and done, I would definitely buy this game if I didn't already own it, as the joys of simply building the coasters and waterslides make it all worth it.

It never ends...

This is one of the best games I have ever gotten. When you add the expansion pack this game almost never gets boring. You can just keep building and building. The only problem I found is that there is not a level that lets you build every attraction if you have the expansion pack. Other then that I love this game.

Good at the beginning, like most

Rollor coaster Tycoon is like most computer games because it fun at the beging like most computer games. At the beging it's a trill. All you want to do is make your park succesful. But after you master the game that's it. The trill last about 3 weeks.

WARNING: Extremely addictive!

This is such a great game. I love every minute of it! I just can't go on it for five minutes: it turns into five hours!

The whole point of the game is to create a cool theme park and have so many guests in the park and a certain park rating by year 2, 3, or 4. I love building roller coasters on this game, although it can be tough (most coasters I build get an intensity rating of ultra-extreme and nobody rides it). But lets not forget merry go rounds, food stands, bathrooms--all the small things.

However, this is not without its faults (what game is?). For instance, the goal of the scenario. If you surpass the amount of guests in your park and the park rating is above the required (usually around 600), and it's only year 2, you gotta wait. And that can be aggravating. Second, why can't guests go on the ultra-extreme coasters? It's not like they'll kill them or something.

All in all, this is a great game for your PC. It's like a drug, how addictive it is. You might need a prescription to get off of it!

This game is not only awesome, but probably one of the most addictive games ever made (along with Tony Hawke Pro Skater, Sim City, Diablo II, Rogue Squadrain, and The Sims). I really enjoy this game, because it is amazingly fun. The only problem is that you don't actually get to ride the rides, personally. That would be ULTIMATE. If you love emusment parks or ever wanted to design roller coasters, this is amazing. Trying to make the worlds greatest amuzment park is the best high. I deffinately recommend this to others. Just make sure you don't play it too much, or you'll need to go to some kind of Rehab program...Just kidding. But it is very, very, very fun!
