RCT is a simulation theme park. Build anywhere from landscapes to MONSTER wooden roller coasters. Choose from paths, landscaping, transport rides, gentle rides, thrill rides, water rides, rollercoasters, and shops. Build your own theme park while keeping it clean and safe, but draining every cent out of your guests.

RCT- Everything you want.....and more!

This is the best game out right now. For anyone who loves rolleroasters, or just likes to get a bit creative. What others have not told you in their reviews is that, not only can you design your own rides or use rides provided by the game, BUT you can also download rollercoasters, car rides, bobsleds, anyride that can be designed by the user off of the INTERNET. To find out more about Rollercoaster Tycoon look at rollercoastertycoon website.

With Corkscrew Follies out, I can't wait to become more creative and have an even more realistic park. YOU WILL LOVE IT!

Control rides, walkways, prices, food stands, maintenance staff, decor, vandalism, EVERYTHING! This is a game that doesn't get boring- Hours can pass and you won't even notice. Once you get the hang of the original, get the Expansion Pack for some extra coasters, scenarios, and stands.

Warning to college students: If you plan to graduate on time, don't get this game! You'll never study again!

Ouch To Sim Theme Park

I got this little guy the day it came out in the summer. I don't know if its been laziness that kept me from writing a review, or just the fact that everybody already knows this game rules. First the bad stuff, the graphics kinda... well they aren't on par with current games, but its not like its gonna turn you off from this game, if it does than youv'e got some problems. This game is also EXTREMELY addictive. You'll play it everyday for hours on end, but once you beat it or run low of energy, you'll want to burn it at the stake. Yes, after you log in about 200 hours you will start to hate the game and never want to see it again, but after a few months, you will return to the wimsicle world that is RCT. The game is like every other sim game, build the rides, advertise, get the cash, get bigger rides. Your laid out with missions to accomplish in the alloted time limit, so no sluffin' off here. You soon get bigger rides and better add-ons to your rides. You need to hire people to research rides, watch the park and yes, scoop up the throw-up of your more queasy guests. Sure, Sim Theme Park may look a little nicer, but RTS has the man meat were it counts, and thats in pure fun.

This is the best computer game I have ever played. I'm really not into computer games but this thing is really addicting. I had to take some time off work to play more...lol. I recommend it to everyone. I bought the 2nd CD adder for it 2 days after owning this. If your the type of person that likes model trains, this is the game for YOU. This game is like a computer version of model trains except with every theme park ride and appurtenance you can imagine, tunnels, bridges, landscaping, everything and you get to build every track ride they have, track by track, trestle by trestle, or you can use some off the shelf rides. I played immediately without opening the book. Its even easier if you sit back and watch the visual tutorial before you jump in and start punching icons. Truely awsumb program, no wonder its a best seller.

Enchanting Fun For All!

Just when you thought that the term "video game" was synonymous with "violence" along comes Roller Coaster Tycoon. This game is proof that computer entertainment can be fun, challenging, and addictive all without the carnage and negativity found so often in today's games.

Instead of building up an empire to crush your enemies, you build up a park for the enjoyment of your little virtual customers. Each scenario contains an objective (i.e. increase the park's value by a certain date) but doesn't make the task so difficult as to drain away all of the fun. And Roller Coaster Tycoon is a lot of fun to play! From designing your own coasters, to hiring staff to keep the patrons safe and the park clean, to even opening a balloon stand and watching all of your patrons carry balloons around the park every moment is pure enchantment.

If you ever visited an amusement park and dreamt of what it would be like to run one, this is a great opportunity to find out!

I do not play games very much but I love this one

My brother introduced me to this game over Christmas and I can't put it down. I love it! The sounds of the people screaming on the coasters to the sounds of the toliets flushing only add to the lifelike realism of this game.

Your creative talents are also put to use as well. From building your first coaster to designing the layout down to the last light post.

After I complete my park and have accomplished my objective, I like to observe everyone having a good time at the park I just created.

A really good time!

I would first like to start off by saying that I am a thirty-two year old and I still play video games. Yes, I know. It's quite sad. Anyway, I heard of Roller Coaster Tycoon before I got it, and decided to see how it was. Once I did purchase it, install it, and play it, I couldn't stop. This game is unbelievable. It has phenominal graphics. Wonderful sound that make you feel like you're really inside a park. You can manage your money and can advertise and hire staff. Plus, each one of your guests has their own personallity and another great feature is that you can see what their thinking and how to change your park based on it. Anyway, I guess I'm trying to say that this is a game for people of all ages.

Buy it ,keep it.

It's tough to find a good strategy game these days. The shelves actually good, so how sweet it was to find Roller Coaster Tycoon. Finally, an RTS (that's Real-Time Strategy if you're wondering) game that doesn't involve "gather resources, build 45 tanks, rush enemy base". This game design is executed so near-perfect and is so fun that I can't even imagine giving it lower than five stars, despite a few flaws. First of all, the interface is very easy to use. I was able to start playing in only a few minutes with out reading the manual or doing the in-game tutorial. The graphics appear a bit dated, but are colorful and quite detailed. Every aspect of your park can be micromanaged down to the placement of garbage cans up to the consrtuction of each individual piece of a new coaster. However, once you're up and running, the park will mostly run itself, letting you concentrate on the more fun aspects, like ride construction. Unfortunately, the game's biggest draw is it's biggest flaw. Coaster construction is a blast when it's done right but can be frustrating at times. You put the coaster together piece by piece, and once it's there' it's there until you demolish it. The problem with this is, of course, you can't actually PLAN what the coaster will look like, nor do you have any idea whether or not it will have enough inertia to carry itself over the next hill. Nothing hurts more than putting a new monster through a test run and having to re-adjust the whole thing since it wouldn't go over the next hill! Okay, okay, it sounds awful but with a little practice, scratch that, ALOT of practice, you'll get it down and really be able to enjoy one of the most fun and addictive PC games ever. Highly, highly recommended.
