I reccomend this game because you can build a huge park, make almost anything in a real theme park, and hey, who would't want to run a theme park with a computer? One last tip, BUY THIS GAME!

One of the best family games available, Roller Coaster Tycoon is a clean, nonviolent real time strategy game. Designing an extravagant theme park or creating the ultimate rollercoaster is great, but it's no easy task. Since this game is a real time strategy game, it's about using the resources available to achieve certain objectives, wich isn't a big problem because it gives some meaning to the game, but, as many people complain about, RCT has no free editor that would alow you to creat an extravagant theme park or the ultimate roller coaster without having to worry about getting kids into your park to take their money. That, along with the fact that it's somewhat time consuming and tedious to complete some of the scenarios, keeps this game from being truly great, because it is extreamly playable and quite fun. Fun for the whole family.

In RollerCoaster Tycoon, you click on a scenario and BOOM! You are rock 'n rollin. The roller coasters-from old wooden coasters to single-rail ones. You can also pick other rides-Merry-go-rounds, bumper cars, ferris wheels, railroads, car rides, go-carts, and many more. Also shops and stalls-fries stall, information kiosk, bathroom, balloon stall, pizza stall, chips stall, ice cream stall, and more. Play with the terrain, build paths-not only on flat ground but in the air with supports, of build some scenery which includes trees, fountains, stuff for paths, and more. You also have an objective- something like 'You must have 300 guests in your park at the end on October, year 3 with a park rating of at least 600.'
Over all, RollerCoaster Tycoon is a fabulous game!

This game is great!You can build your own roller coasters or buy them.You get a choice between Thrill rides, Gentle rides, Roller Coasters, Water rides, Transport rides, and Food and Bathroom stands.The only drawback is that you can only build rides in certain areas, they wont let you build if it is to high for ride supports.You do get a choice between mission goals,but they don't let you build a theme park just for fun.The sounds are great and makes you think your in a real park.Just beware, the weather changes from sunny to rain in seconds and that means people won't ride rides.Make sure you have Mechanics, because if you not careful a roller coaster could crash and people will die!!All in all this game is good, and I really do recomend it.

I have owned this game for about half a year and I and my younger brother have already built a successful theme park. I highly recommend this game to people who like to build. You can build other rides like water slides, go-karts, and woah bellies (just like the detonator). I also own the two expansion packs and they give even better designs to build, including a motion simulator and jet skies. Here's a tip: start with a steel mini coaster as your first custom design. Now the only thing that I can say is get this game for hours of fun.

The Sim City of Theme Park games

Do you like Sim City? Do you like going to Theme Parks? If you answered yes to both of those questions you should look into this game. Attention to detail as well as simple controls make this game a lot of fun. If you don't believe me, I turned my computer on and let my 13 year old cousin play the game with no instructions and minmal help and he was already having fun within 10 minutes. After a half hour he begged me to let him borrow the game. The game is quite addictive too, i played it so long at college that my eyes were so red i had to wear sunglasses. If you have time to kill or you need a new cpu game to get into, RC Tycoon is the right game for you.

Roller Tycoon is a game FILLED with adventures, and TONS of fun. When I first played it, I just came home from school, and no one was home. I played for hours and HOURS! I couldn't belive the time! I had flotted away on my own roller coaster! At first, I couldn't understand the point, but then I got into it. After some months, it kinda got boring. But my brother is still playing it. It kinda matters the type of person you are. But still its fun having people walk around your park. Buy it, and you'll won't have probllems being bored

With tons of replay factor, this game is a must buy. It requires the right amount of skill and gives 50+ hours of fun. A wide variety of pieces to use makes your theme park the best. The idea is to gain money. You need good rides to do that. But it isn't all about crazy rollarcoasters that make dudes hurl. It is an attraction for the whole familly which makes sissy rides for infants nesscasary. Plus you will need stores, snack boothes, restrooms, and more to stay in business. This game is fun for the whole familly. The only major con is that the game is a bit slow. But it is still a great game. I recommend this game to all gamers who like to look at picture perfect graphics and are willing to put a lot of time into a game. 4 out of 5. Laterz!

Much Better Than SimTheme Park

If you haven't tried this game, you aren't much fun. Control your own theme parks realistically. In SimTheme Park, roller coasters can't crash and people can walk right through other people. The down side of this game is not being able to ride your rides like in SimTheme Park, but if you don't even have a fast enough video card for riding rides, then the ride is very slow. The first time I played this I forgot to build a second set of chains to pull the roller coaster up the slope. The trains collided together and sixteen people died. When I played SimTheme Park, I made a very high roller coaster and it went down at about a 25º angle. The track could actually head into the ground and come back up off the grass, but the track did not go underground. As it went up, the track went right through my haunted house and that makes SimTheme Park very unrealistic. I say this a must buy. SimTheme Park is a complete waste of money.

If only it was real.

Phew! Meeting those scenareo goals were tough. But I did it. Anyone who likes themeparks for real or on game, will love this. Don't be fooled by the title. It isn't just rollercoasters. In fact there is more of the other types of themepark attractions than there is coasters. Lots more.
You get to manage everything from staff to construction. You can also theme them and name them. Whatever type of themepark you want to do. Do it. Everything is to scale, which is quite unusual for a strategy game. The only drawbacks are the very drawbacks that real park managers would have. Once all of the goals are met an extra park appears. And then you can do what you want.
It's tough and time consuming, but worth it.
