Very cute, fun game!

What an awesome game! This is one of the best GameBoy games I've ever seen. The graphics are, surprisingly, bursting with color and sharpness, and it has very enjoyable music. You just want to jump into that cute little Spyro world. The game itself isn't very hard, it's the challenges! (The fire pixie challenges are incredibly annoying and frustrating.) Great for all ages-you'll never tire of this game. The characters are humorus and cute, and the game is very easy to understand. And you can play four characters: Spyro(of course), Sheila, Agent 9 and Sparx. Personally, my very favorite levels are the Spyro and Sheila ones. It's so refreshing when you finish an Agent 9 or Sheila level, and then you come out to a Spyro level, instead of doing the same levels over and over.
Some of the worlds are even holiday based too, like Shamrock Isle is based on St. Patrick's day, and then there's Christmas(Winter Mesa) and Halloween(Haunted Hills)! Another cool thing about this is the neat angle from which you play. Some GameBoy games are oh-so-dull with the boring 2-D graphics. THIS is full 3-D and far from boring!
In other words, UNBELIVEABLY AWESOME GAME!!!! GET IT!!!!!

As addictive as the PS1 games and cuter than ever

This is the first GBA game I've played, so I'm not sure how it holds up compared to other games on the platform, but it certainly holds true to the Spyro tradition, and this game is actually a lot more fun than the new PS2 game in the series. A slightly more diminutive Spyro explores several dozen imaginative levels, collecting gems, fireflies and solving puzzles/completing challenges along the way -- more of the same, perhaps, but it's still a lot of fun.

The action is paced very well - you can progress quickly through the levels and go back later to finish up the more difficult or frustrating challenges later. All of the things that make the Spyro series great are here: a seemingly endless variety of foes and new landscapes to explore, fun sub-levels where you can play games or beat the clock in a variety of races and other scenarios, and a great sense of humor. The levels are among the most creative of ANY Spyro game, including some based on holiday imagery (Halloween, St. Patrick's Day, Christmas), ice, tropics, and even a candy-themed level! I would have loved to see some of these levels on a full-scale PS2 Spyro game.

Although you can breeze through most of the levels pretty quickly, there's plenty to do after you're finished if you haven't collected all the gems and fireflies. The only real problem is controlling Spyro; as your viewpoint is rather diagonal, it's easy to misjudge which way you are going. There were times when I lost dozens of lives in a row because I couldn't quite get the angle right on a glide. It's very easy to fall off of edges, and there are a LOT of edges.

While I'm not quite sure how this stacks up compared to other GBA games, it's certainly a worthy investment for a Spyro or platformer fan.

Spyro 2:Season of Flame is one of the BEST GBA games!

I waited forever for the game to come out. Right when I got home from school I played it for hours. It even came with a pull out poster. It's challenging too.Funny, and FUN! I'm gonna get the strategy guide soon. You can even see where you are with the map when you press Select and L. I LOVE the game!!! It truly deserves more than 5 stars! Get Season of Flame today! By the way, Crush, Gulp, and Ripto are back in the game. Spyro will sure teach them a lesson!

Any game with Spyro on it is guaranteed to get me to buy it. I've been sitting here playing with it before I wrap it for the kid. He's got all of the PS1/PS2 Spyro games, so getting this one was easy.

This game is very well made. Its graphics look 3-D and its sounds are awsome!!! Its game play is very rewarding. When you defeat Ripto you get a checker game and if you defeat Ripto and get all 100 fireflies and gems (you can get all of these before AND after you beat Ripto) you unlock a sparx level!! There are also three worlds to visit. Not only do you play as Spyro, you also play as Shelia (the kangaroo) and Agent 9 (the space monkey). There are many cheat codes for this game. But one is, at the title screen enter up, right, down, up, right, left, up, right, down, B. You should hear a noise confirming this code. It will give you all breath abilities. (Including the power-ups!!) Overall this is a 5-star game.

Amazing Game!!

I first found out about this game when a friend lent it to me.....I liked it so much, I bought it!! The graphics are excellent, and the different worlds are amazing!! The Sheila worlds are kinda hard, but I used some online walkthroughs to not only help me through the levels, but unlock some fun cheats!! (ex. All breath abilities, invincible, infinite lives, etc.) This game would be perfect for gamers new to the GBA Spyro series, and is well worth the money.

I borrowed this game from a friend and immidiately fell in love with it. Its graphics are way better than the last game, it's more challenging, and (once you get the hang of it) fairly easy to play. I used to play Spyro on playstation and ever since then I've loved it! I think it's soo cute when Spyro jumps along sunny plains: awww! Furthermore, I just beat the game today (it took me a while to figure out how to beat Ripto), and I liked it so much I bought it! I started my own file with no fireflies and now have 86, which is even more than my friend's file, and she rocks at every game ever created! Excuse me, i think i'll go tell her i beat the game :)

Really Good Game!

Hello all, I got this game a few weeks ago and I am still playing it. I've just reached the 60% done mark. This game is so fun and challenging that it's a must have! I am someone who loves to play games when I get the chance. I play some everyday. I have played Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and beat it in less than a week. I also played Super Mario Land THE GOLD COINS and beat it in several hours. The game CABELA'S BIG GAME HUNTER was such a disapointment and I beat it in 2 days. But this game I just keep going back to and each time I get a little more done. The hocky part I just beat last night, phew that was hard! LOL. But anyways the games, features and graphics are awesome! This is such a cool game. It's so life like and full of vibrant colors. But the game itself is easy to follow, you can't get stuck for long. You have to clear the levels, simple as that....yet its hard to find everything so the challenge is there....Just a fun game...recommend it to kids as well my 10 and 13 y.o. play it and love it too. GREAT GAME A+

Spyro:Season of Flame, an even better game than the last....

I'm glad they decided to bring the Spyro series to the Gameboy Advance. My only gripe has always been with the isometric view but, once you get used to that, they are pretty awesome. Which brings me to this game. Spyro:Season of Flame is alot like the first game but even better in some respects. There's alot more to do, things to collect. Everything runs more smoothly. I'll admit, even the graphics are more colorful and crisp. They even brought over some of the characters from the last PSone game for you to play in this one. I really like the fact they put alot into the game for you to like. Do I like it? You bet your sweet hiney I do. Digital Eclipse knows their Spyro, that's for sure, and that's a good thing. There's alot of us Spyro fans out here who love the games. I'd like to suggest this game to all Spyro fans out there as well as all platform game fans. It's awesome.

Now...if we could just get some of these other developers out there to follow suit and bring their properties to the handheld- we'd be in business. I'd love to be able to play games like Tomba, and Ty the Tasmanian Tiger on the go. If Digital Extremes can make a Gameboy Advance game out of Spyro, I know other developers could do it as well.
