Some improvements, some not so improvements...

This game is good. They added back some variety in that you have other characters to play again not just Spyro and Sparx. Sparx seems to have enlarged himself a bit in this one, making him easier to see. The graphics look excellent and the game is fun. I really liked the new atlas, it helps to show exactly what you are missing. Why did I only give it 4 stars? There is one annoying thing that bugs me. The screen seems "jumpy". It is almost as if it is anticipating where you are going to go, so when you stop the world stops moving and goes backwards to where you are. I found this to be my main complaint, after a bit, it kind of made me feel ill :)

Spyro 2:Season of Flame is one of the BEST GBA games!

I waited forever for the game to come out. Right when I got home from school I played it for hours. It even came with a pull out poster. It's challenging too.Funny, and FUN! I'm gonna get the strategy guide soon. You can even see where you are with the map when you press Select and L. I LOVE the game!!! It truly deserves more than 5 stars! Get Season of Flame today! By the way, Crush, Gulp, and Ripto are back in the game. Spyro will sure teach them a lesson!

please read this! it is very helpfull! it would be for me!

You know what I think that this game is both fun and challenging. You might get stuck at some parts but if you don't give up you will find that that was easy. Like when you are trying to beat Crush and Gulp you just have to dodge the things they through at you and you get them when they fall down and then you go up to them and press the a button and through it at them you have to through the bomb or ice at them like three times then you win! It is a eaaly fun and I guess easy game. If you have played the other games like "Spyro Ripto's Revenge" them you know that this game is as easy as that one. Well I'm only on the third level. So, so far it is easy.

Spyro:Season of Flame, an even better game than the last....

I'm glad they decided to bring the Spyro series to the Gameboy Advance. My only gripe has always been with the isometric view but, once you get used to that, they are pretty awesome. Which brings me to this game. Spyro:Season of Flame is alot like the first game but even better in some respects. There's alot more to do, things to collect. Everything runs more smoothly. I'll admit, even the graphics are more colorful and crisp. They even brought over some of the characters from the last PSone game for you to play in this one. I really like the fact they put alot into the game for you to like. Do I like it? You bet your sweet hiney I do. Digital Eclipse knows their Spyro, that's for sure, and that's a good thing. There's alot of us Spyro fans out here who love the games. I'd like to suggest this game to all Spyro fans out there as well as all platform game fans. It's awesome.

Now...if we could just get some of these other developers out there to follow suit and bring their properties to the handheld- we'd be in business. I'd love to be able to play games like Tomba, and Ty the Tasmanian Tiger on the go. If Digital Extremes can make a Gameboy Advance game out of Spyro, I know other developers could do it as well.

sooooooooo AWESOME!!!!

This game is great except for one thing. The screan "jumps." what it is doing is centering Spyro to the middle of the screen. So when you stop the action, the screen keeps moving until Spyro is centered. Makes me a little sick after awhile....

Spyro is cool

Any game with Spyro on it is guaranteed to get me to buy it. I've been sitting here playing with it before I wrap it for the kid. He's got all of the PS1/PS2 Spyro games, so getting this one was easy.

Sadly,

This is the first GBA game I've played, so I'm not sure how it holds up compared to other games on the platform, but it certainly holds true to the Spyro tradition, and this game is actually a lot more fun than the new PS2 game in the series. A slightly more diminutive Spyro explores several dozen imaginative levels, collecting gems, fireflies and solving puzzles/completing challenges along the way -- more of the same, perhaps, but it's still a lot of fun.

The action is paced very well - you can progress quickly through the levels and go back later to finish up the more difficult or frustrating challenges later. All of the things that make the Spyro series great are here: a seemingly endless variety of foes and new landscapes to explore, fun sub-levels where you can play games or beat the clock in a variety of races and other scenarios, and a great sense of humor. The levels are among the most creative of ANY Spyro game, including some based on holiday imagery (Halloween, St. Patrick's Day, Christmas), ice, tropics, and even a candy-themed level! I would have loved to see some of these levels on a full-scale PS2 Spyro game.

Although you can breeze through most of the levels pretty quickly, there's plenty to do after you're finished if you haven't collected all the gems and fireflies. The only real problem is controlling Spyro; as your viewpoint is rather diagonal, it's easy to misjudge which way you are going. There were times when I lost dozens of lives in a row because I couldn't quite get the angle right on a glide. It's very easy to fall off of edges, and there are a LOT of edges.

While I'm not quite sure how this stacks up compared to other GBA games, it's certainly a worthy investment for a Spyro or platformer fan.

Amazing Game!!
