Counter-Strike is a great game. It's realistic, fun, and addictive. It's amazing how a game with a 6-year-old engine could still be so fun to play. Be careful though, you can save a few bucks by just buying Half-Life: Game of the Year Edition and then downloading the Counter-Strike MOD from the Internet.

This Game is the greatest game of all time.

I have owned Counter-Strike for only a few weeks, and the game has been out for over 5 years. Unlike other games that die out in a year, this game has THOUSANDS of people online and playing at any time of the day. The game is only online, and it has aspects that are similar to military today. You are either a Counter-Terrorist or a Terrorist, and your objectives are usually either planting/defusing a bomb, or hostage rescue. Needless to say, You can spend many hours on this game.

Counter-Strike is the perfect medium between the insane action-hero style gaming of Quake or Unreal and the god-damnit-im-dead-already style of Rainbow Six and Rogue Spear. Realism with a healthy dose of silliness added in.

Playing online, of course, is all the rage. I suggest exploring all the maps beforehand, however - the other players are not forgiving.

I look forward to seeing this is an updated engine. Quake II was awhile ago...

Very good game! Counterstrike is, without a doubt, Sierra's best work! Whether you are a serious hardcore first person gamer, or just like to mess around shooting chickens in Italy, this is a great game. You get the choice of being a terrorist or a counter-terrorist, both sides have their ups and downs. All in all, I strongly recommend counterstrike for any person with Half-Life and a computer.

This game brings out the best gamers of many regions. A must-have for any die-hard gamer, but make sure to have a broadband connection or you will be left in the dust. However, it also brings out some of the best hackers who have various cheats, as well as people who are so good that it seems like they may be cheating. Needless to say, it is a game of a lot of trash-talking and teamwork, but in the end it all comes down to your kill:Death ratio.

this game is sooooo sick, playing it on the net is the best and it can be addictive too. I only play it when I am at my friends house because I have a mac. Is there a version of cs for mac? if so email me ...thanks, peace!

this game is the best game out so far besides nolf 2. there are lotsa mods and maps and [stuff] out there for this game. you can use many guns, including- an AK-47, M4A1, benelli 12 gauge, CT 180 i think and alot more. so if you dont already have this game, ... then GET IT NOW.

Without a doubt, one of the best games I've ever played. Totally addicting, challanging and realistic.
Never met anyone who didn't immediately become addicted.
