... This is simply a great MOD for the game half-life. It was originally created by a group of people who wanted to create a semi-realistic multiplayer tactical action MOD for half-life,... By the way, this is EXTREMELY fun to play online. However, it has no single player mode unless you download a bot mod, but it doesnt include it. Do not buy unless you have DSL or above. Please trust me on this.

This game is great! It combines strategy w/ fun and exitement.The different levels & weapons keep it interesting. If u r bored, with this game hanging around, it'll keep u busy 'till dinner!

Worth Hundreds of Hours of Online Gaming

Very near the greatest Online First Person Shooter (FPS) on the net now. It's becoming a bit old by most gaming standards. Sort of like Frogger when Mario Bros. hit the shelves, but this game still has it's charms. The first big plus is the buy system. Unlike some FPS games, this one promotes teamwork by rewarding money after each round. This enables the players to buy equipment. It also promotes individual acheivement in much the same way that other FPS games do: Frag count. Along with the Frag, the player will also recieve a small amount of cash. Not much in the big picture of the game, but enough to make a difference. The graphics are outdated, but this puts less pressure on older systems. Thus making the best Counter-Terrorists the ones with good pings.

This game is simply the best game ever, period. If u call yourself a pc gamer, and you dont have counter-strike, then you need to get it. Most fun i've ever had on a computer game.

Computer Drugs

I can't recommend this game enough to anybody tired of the fantasy fps that are on the market today. The game is achingly realistic, sometimes not to your advantage. The reason I titled this computer drugs is that this is the single most addictive game out there, whether you are on a good server or not. THe game emphasizes strategy and tactical action over melee, rambo types multiplayer fps's. The game is one of the single most unique multiplayer experiences out there, and will surely be imitated. As for issues of control, layout, design; it follows Half-Life so everything is pretty much the same. The difficulty is incredibly hard at first because of head shots ( one shot kills) and very little health, relatively. Once you get the hang of it though, you can't wait for the smallest amount of free time to play it. Yes, there is a problem with cheating, immaturity, and sadly I've seen many offensive slurs uttered througout the game from "dead" players. This is something we cannot control. What you can do if you buy this game, ( trust me, buy it) is find a good server where idiots and loudmouths are kicked promptly, , misbehavior is not tolerated, and preferably running Punk Buster. Punk Buster is free, download it. All the complaints in the previous reviews could be addressed by finding some good servers, saving them to "favorites", and sticking with them.

just download it on-line for free, it may take awhile buts its free and safe, and just as good as retail.

All the good you've heard about Counterstrike is true. Just one other note, if you've got a slow internet connection you can try using Podbot--a program that will give you computer opponents.
Another note: If you're turned off by or bored with the player and weapons models or the sounds, there are lots of replacements available for download at no cost. This has helped me maintain interest in the game over a long period.

This game is really addictive. I've played Quake III, Unreal Tournament etc. and this is my favorite. The thing that makes the biggest difference is that it requires more thinking and tactics and more teamwork. ...

I'll say it straight this game is amazing, except selling it is stupid, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!!!!! Because it is out of date and you can download the full version at www.counter-strike.net so do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
