Great game

Let me start of by saying the game, for some people, crashes on a regular bases. I have that problem also. Bethesda is making a patch to fix that.
I would give this game 5 stars if it crashed every minute. That is how good it is. The game world is huge. The storyline is great. There are hundreds of quests. Thousands of classes. Great graphics. Ten guilds to join. Comes with a consruction set. Hundreds of mods are already out. Just go buy the game. It is the best rpg in a very long time. If you have crashes the patch will be out in 3 weeks, but the game is still playable

Incredibly Awesome

I have waited a long time for this third installment of the Elder Scrolls, and it was worth it! This RPG is incredibly good. Abstain from playing it if you don't want to be glued to your PC 24/7.

The construction set included with the game is incredibly entertaining and easy to use, once you get the hang of it. I was able to add a house to the gameworld to suit my character perfectly. (and believe me I am a very technology challenged person) I think I have spent more time on the construction set than on the game itself. It is so much fun to use and is not limited to modifying architecture. With it the player can create new objects, classes, races, npc's, weapons, armor, the options are almost limitless.

The official site boards are a wonderful source of information on every aspect of the game. On them, the players themselves enthusiastically share their experiences and answer most questions regarding Morrowind. Finally, fan sites are mushrooming all over the web with everything from tutorials on using the construction set, to solutions to the most obscure quests and puzzles. Leave it to the fans to generously share their creativity. All in all, I will be playing this game for a long time to come.

Kudos to Bethesda for another job well done.

I agree that Morrowind is a great game. The gameworld is huge, the way you develop your character makes sense (i.e. the more you use a skill, the better you become at it), and you have a great deal of freedom not only in creating a custom character class, but also in making unique magical items and spells. The story is intriguing too, and you really get the sense that you're participating in events that are going to shake the Empire to its core. It does take a pretty robust system to run and, although I haven't had a lot of the technical problems other people posting here have mentioned, it does tend to lock up every now and again. All in all, however, it's a stable game and the system requirements really aren't outrageous, especially after you see just how detailed the gameworld is. The combat mechanics are fairly standard so I don't have any complaints there. The only problem I have with this game, in fact, is that the journal feature quite frankly sucks. You get a lot (and I mean LOT) of quests in Morrowind but keeping track of them is quite a chore. They don't automatically delete from your journal after you complete them which means you have to wade through tons of information on older quests to get to the one you're still working on and they don't give you any sort of index to them, meaning you've got to flip through your journal page by page to find that one little detail on that quest you're about to attempt. It wastes time and it's really annoying. Having gotten that off of my chest however, I can say this is definitely a great game and well worth buying. I just wish they would have spent a little more time making the journal feature more usable.

you need time for this great game!

After all the hub bub of great reviews. I've played just about every fantasy game out there and this one bites big time. It's slow, ponderous boring unimaginative. Played for an hour and was hoping that the store would take it back. For fifty bucks I think I'd rather have someone give me a flogging. Anyway, the graphics are okay, they slide all over the place and are really inaccurate. Very blocky looking, its a 3D game of the genre of 3D games from 5 years ago. If you want fantasy or roleplaying stick with Ice Wind Dale or the like, or Everquest or something. Save your money and get a game that you will enjoy and have fun with. If you buy this game well you'll want your money back and since the game cd is fine there is no refund. Sorry you're out fifty bucks. I can't say enough negatives of the game, I've seen and played alot better before and all the "great reviews" are from the company not from consumers. Belief me no-one I know that has played the game likes it at all.

Best RPG ever!

This game is one of the best games I have ever played. But it is rather difficult to start out beacause you make the plot as you go. But as soon as you figure it out, you will be so glad you got this game.
