Easy, easy, easy.

Yoshi's story is great fun, but it's so easy that you can probably beat it in about 5 days. It's about Yoshis(cute little dinosaurs). The Yoshis love their great fruit tree. Then, baby Bowser coms and takes it away. It's all up to the Yoshis to get it back. If you are older than five i suggest you not to get this game.

Yoshi's Island

Although originally designed for younger gamers, Yoshi's Island still gives a fun experience to all ages. There are dozens of secrets and levels to play. I especially like the fact that it is one of the few games left where we do not have to worry about getting "contaminated" with violence and horror images. Believe this, there are still people in this world that enjoy "CLEAN GAMING." Wish there were MORE games left like this. I am never left with feelings of weirdness after playing this game, or games like this one , such as "Super Mario" 64, or any Mario series. I highly recommend this game to anyone who is tired of the blood and gore of the other types of games. Any of you parents who guard their children's mental health, this one is a good and wholesome one. ENJOY!!!!

Underrated, but not amazing. (4 stars)

Due to the success of the phenomenal Yoshi's Island for the SNES, it can be understood why many gamers view Yoshi's Story for the N64 as a disappointment. But does that truly make it a bad game?

The biggest complaint with this game is that people say that the game is far too easy to complete. While it is true that the Story Mode is ridiculously short (you only play 6 of the 24 stages) by completing each level in story mode by going through it multiple times, you can play them on Trial Mode (where you choose which of the 24 levels you want to play, in any order.)

The gameplay is very simple - the objective in each stage is to eat 30 fruits which are scattered throughout the levels. Sounds simple enough if you're only trying to win the game with the lowest requirements (similar to playing Super Mario 64 and fighting Bowser with 70 stars instead of getting all 120.) Playing this way is ridiculously easy and will take at most 45 to 60 minutes to accomplish.

However, the game's challenge comes in getting high scores in Trial Moade. In order to maximize your score, you must eat a particular fruit - melons. There are exactly 30 of them on each stage and going through the levels only eating melons is difficult on almost every level, seeing as though they are not always in plain sight and can be found by accessing certain secret areas of each level. This is a very difficult challenge, and to do this on all 24 levels will take about 15 to 20 hours to do so.

As for the graphics, sound and controls, they're decent for 1998 (except the sound and music, which due to it's "cuteness" can get very irritating at times) and the game controls very well, as every other game developed by Nintendo is.

If you are looking for a decent challenge, buy this game and go for all the melons in all 24 levels. You won't be dissapointed. But if you just want to play through the game, steer clear, you will not enjoy this game.

ANS ALSO IN THE TRIAL MODE WHE HAVE AOUR COMPETITIONS TO SEE WHO CAN WET THE HIGHES SCORE.

A great N64 game for young children...and older ones, too!

This game is a side-scroller (operates in 2D), so fewer buttons on the N64 controller are required. The game is full of bright colors, cute characters, and different colored Yoshis. The goal of the game is to rescue the Happy Tree from an evil invader...you have to keep getting happer in order to do that. No blood, guts or gore to be found here.

Great for beginners and kids

This is a very easy game, people with practicly no experience can beat it. This is really cute and I think this would be a great game for parents who are concerned about violence. Heck, even the enemies are kinda cute. People do complain that the game is way too short and easy, I somewhat agree with that, but there do have to be games for beginners, but this is where it's at. Unlike it's proceeder Yoshi's Island, there is no baby Mario for you to baby. Thank god, that crying was annoying with a capital A, but overall YI was better than yoshis story. The graphics were some of the best on the system, I'm suprised they did it all on a 128. Overall, this is a game for beginners which would be a good buy, but anyone past the beginner stage should rent it and beat it five times, one for each day.

This game is VERY FUN!!![.] I really love it and it will go along much easier if you make up your own tips and try them out :) Also you can try to "train" a Yoshi to get it more powerful (this isn't a real tip, but it works) and make it "lucky." Try out your own tips and see if they work, then post them if you find out any! I'd recommend this game to kids ages 5-13 but if you're not in that age range try renting it first :) It is cartoony and has simple controls but very hard at some levels! DO NOT BUY IT RIGHT AWAY!!![.]

The Story Unfolds.

This game wasn't the best game I've ever played. It was a change though since Mario wasn't the star of this game (Mario's Story? O_o Okay I'll shut up). Since Yoshi was the main character, I thought it would be adorable when I saw it ... When I brought it home to play, I sat there for hours playing it. I thought the little Yoshi characters were just plain adorable. Then my brother played it. He was around 4 or 5 at the time. He absolutely loved it. I wasn't too impressed by it. But, I guess this is a great game for the younger generations. If you have a younger brother/sister/son/daughter/etc., get this game for them. They'll have a blast.
