I rented this game awhile back cause it was the follow up to Yoshi's Island for the Super Nintendo and to me, it wasn't really a good follow up except in the graphics department. But kids should like it pretty good. It was just too easy to me.

This game is lacking a lot of things, but it is still a good side scroller. Its definitely reminiscent of Yoshi's Island on SNES. The story leaves much to be desired, as do the characters, but the overall action is fun. I reccomend it for younger audiences, but definitely not for the 11 and up crowd.
It was fun for 2 hours

Yoshi's Story is an insult to many Yoshi fans. Here is what I have to say. I don't want to write a full review for this... thing that my parents paid nearly 12 dollars for.
Graphics (6/10)
Just pure eye candy. And eye candy doesn't make a bad game good.
Sound/Music (0/10)
I feel like my intelligence is being insulted by this music. It's for preschoolers! I, being in eighth grade, feel as though listening to this music for just an hour will cause my brain to turn into mush and make me get a whole bunch of B's, C's and D's on my report card. I am a straight-A student.
Replayability (0/10)
Don't even go there. Each LEVEL takes five minutes. Now with my algebraic math skills... l = number of levels. t = time in minutes to complete a level. l=24 and t=5. 24 times 5 is 120 minutes to win each level. Ha! And Story mode only lets you play 6 levels! That's 30 minutes to win the ENTIRE GAME!
Overall (1/5)
We should be able to give 0 star ratings...
BEST GAME EVER!!!!!!!!!

Ok, this is definitely the best game ever(not counting any RPG's I've ever played)! It gives you endless fun and it has unlimited replayability. The music is absolutely wonderful and I find myself humming it all the time. The graphics are amazing for a Nintendo game that's not an RPG. Of course, to be honest, they don't hold a candle to PSX graphics, but that's just Nintendo. The controls of the game are easy to use and really good. It's easy to play, but also hard, depending on how you play. As you go on in the game it gets really hard, though. There are a maximum of four level options for each "page" of the story. And let me just tell you, when you beat the game, it is AWESOME! BUY THIS GAME!!!
I wasted $11.50

One of my best friends told me that this was a great game so when I saw it I bought it. I was thinking $11.50 has to be a great investment for a game this great! Boy was I wrong. I found myself bored of the game within two days. Yoshi eats fruit and then gets happy. That is about the plot of the story. The fruit is kind of like the rings in Sonic but you have to eat a certain amount of fruit to beat the level. Why can't I just beat up some bad guy to win? Eating fruit to win? Not my idea of fun. Sure it's original but besides that? Pointless. Overall this game is a major bore and yes I am a nintendo fan. Even a Yoshi fan. Garh.

actually, it IS after a SNES game "Yoshi's Island". It is a cool SNES game, but is even worse in N64.
Urgh...

These are the kinds of games that make make people call the N64 a "kiddy" system. This game is pure utter rubbish. Don't buy it. There is a borderline between cute and annoying, and Yoshi's Story steps over it. I cannot stomach this game, it makes me feel like I am gagging on a mixture of honey, maple syrup and molasses. But I suppose since I am 15 I would hate this... If you have very small infants in your household, or you yourself have the mental age of a 3 year old, then mabye you could consider RENTING it.
finally was able to rate my seller
