Suprisingly enjoyable

Having no interest at all in golf, I wasn't too thrilled when my friend begged for me to play this game. Soon after, my dad bought it. I soon fell in love with the multiple characters and courses and easily adjusted to the controls. They stretched the graphics to the limit; when you look far down the course, you don't see the white fog common on other N64 games. I highly recommend this game to everyone! From novice to expert, golf fool to golf fanatic, this game can be played by everyone.

I'm not that interested in golf and I haven't ever been crazy about sports video games, but Mario Golf is a huge exception. It's got anything that you could want from a golf game. It has tournaments where you can win trophies and birdie badges, putt-putt golf, shoot the ball through the rings, match play, and many other options of play. You can play up to four players at a time and the game saves all your data on its own. As you play the courses and gain experience points, you will unlock new courses. You can also get hidden characters in the game.

Everything about Mario Golf is great. It has great graphics, cool sound, superb control, and best of all, it's a lot of fun. It has more replay value than just about any sports game I've ever played. If you like sports games, or even if you're not crazy about sports games or golf, I would recommend checking out Mario Golf. It just might change your mind.

I have had Mario Golf for a while and it is great. The graphics look kiddish but the golf physics are right on. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the kiddy graphics. Graphics:4 Control:5 Sound:4.5 Playability:5 Lasting Appeal:5

This is the best nintendo game ever. It features mario and his friends playing various "cyber"courses. There are also non-mario and friends players, such as Harry, a David Duval look- alike(you fellow golfers can guess harry's appearance from this description). Its a great game!

This is by far one of the most addictive games that I have ever played on the Nintendo 64. Mario Golf takes the simple game of golf and creates a unique gaming experience that you will suprisingly find yourself coming back for more and more of.

The game starts by giving you one course to play on with a handful of characters to select from. Your goal is to accumulate experience points by playing in tournaments and playing against other characters in match-mode. After attaining a certain number of points, you can unlock a new course. To unlock new characters to control (such as Mario, Wario, and other familiar favorites), you need to beat them in one-on-one play. Other characters can also be unlocked by completing other game modes such as the "Ring Play" where you have to hit the ball through floating rings on the course and make par.

Of course Mario Golf also provides multi-player mode where you can tee it up with your friends on any of the available courses.

The learning curve for this game is minimal, providing an easy-to-use interface which allows you to select clubs, survey your shot, and put spin on the ball with little effort. The hardest part of the game, which it well should be, is judging the length of your shot and accounting for the wind.

There are a lot of hidden "easter eggs" inside this game and I won't spoil it by revealing them. The great thing is that playing the game over and over to open these secrets hasn't gotten boring and I've logged over a hundred hours playing this game!

This game is very good. The graphics are really good and it is a game that you can play a while and not get bored with. I rented it, and it was fantastic. The many game modes make it fun to play by yourself or against other people. It's a very good game, and I would recommend it.

Incredible for a sports game.

Being a female, I usually don't like sports games but this game is easy to learn and is lots of fun. There are lots of extras that you have to earn as you play the game and that's always a plus. You can also save a game at any time so you can just sit down and play a few holes or play a whole 18 hole game.

Not for the beginning golfer

This golf game is really good, but trust me, it's hard. Even people who've played games like Hot Shots Golf should find it hard, or at least I would think so. People may think since this is a "nintendo" game, that it would be easy and wouldn't have all the options of hitting the ball in the right place etc. Well, it does, you do everything here that you would in hot shots and cybertiger, as for difficulty, I think it's the hardest thing since Buck Bumble. It's a really fun game, but what brings the last star out of there is I think they should've made difficulty levels for the beginners. The graphics are amsome and the music is um... okay. Seriously, the music's fine. If you like golf and are very patient, this is the game for you, but if you are frusterated easily, it'll be better on yourself to use it as an overpriced coaster.

Mario golf has everything you want in a golf game. It has many clubs, various winds, and characters. You can shoot right or left handed. To shoot left handed hold L on controller then choose your character. Very fun.

DO NOT be fooled by the cartoon characters. This is the best golf game I'm ever played (accurate wind, shots, tournaments; classic characters; easy to learn; online tournaments). It's easy to play, and the courses range from very easy to virtually impossible. There are limitless possibilities of play (such as stroke, tourney, mini-golf, match, slots, skins, more) on six full courses and two nine hole minigolf courses. If you know some basic stuff about golf, you will love this awesome game.
