A Great Game Not!

I love this Game. It is just a little frustrating when you can't get all the golfers because you don't have the Transfer Pak. The graphics are great but the gameplay becomes boring after you get every golfer. If your a gamer who buys games to defeat them will love this game, otherwise it stinks. ....

Wailliae is better

In my humble opinion Wailliae golf for the N64 is the best golf game out there right now. This game has great graphics and neat additions but it sacrificed too much for the cute factor. Buy the aforementioned golf game, you will not be sorry.

What next, Mario Theme Park?

This game had it's pros, and it had its cons. Pro - fun for everyone, good clean fun Con - nothing really to difficult, just making sure you stop the line on another line. Pro - Lots of different ways to play, you can play tournaments, or practice, putting challenges, and you have to get birdie badges. Con - Usually Mario is the bomb guy, but in this game he's a really bad golfer :} But overall, this is a good game, that a five year old can play, so go out and get your copy today!

The Best Golf Game on N64!

I have had Mario Golf for a while and it is great. The graphics look kiddish but the golf physics are right on. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the kiddy graphics. Graphics:4 Control:5 Sound:4.5 Playability:5 Lasting Appeal:5

Not for the beginning golfer

This golf game is really good, but trust me, it's hard. Even people who've played games like Hot Shots Golf should find it hard, or at least I would think so. People may think since this is a "nintendo" game, that it would be easy and wouldn't have all the options of hitting the ball in the right place etc. Well, it does, you do everything here that you would in hot shots and cybertiger, as for difficulty, I think it's the hardest thing since Buck Bumble. It's a really fun game, but what brings the last star out of there is I think they should've made difficulty levels for the beginners. The graphics are amsome and the music is um... okay. Seriously, the music's fine. If you like golf and are very patient, this is the game for you, but if you are frusterated easily, it'll be better on yourself to use it as an overpriced coaster.

"A hard rains gonna fall"

While I agree with the other review I read, that the physics of the game ROCKS, what's with all the RAIN! I mean, it's like every other hole it's raining. I'd like to outfit my character with scuba gear!

Golf made Fun, at last

Mario Golf is a surprisingly great game and easy to learn which makes it great for multiplayer matches. It is also great for single player as you must beat better and better competition to move forward. Get points by winning tournaments and gain access to new and challenging courses that test both your accuracy and patience. Despite the fact you are golfing with monkeys and lizards, the game is fairly realistic with different terrains, wind, etc.. If you are looking for a game to play with friends or on your own, I highly recommend Mario Golf as an enjoyable experience and a game to certainly add to your collection.

Great game!

I've played this game probably 50 or 60 times, and have beaten it. It was extremely fun while doing it, but it was too quick. With only 6 courses, it gets to be the same over and over again. However, there's also a way to earn new characters. You challenge them to a course, and if you beat them, you get to play as them. The more you beat, the more power you have (in the characters) If you manage to get birdie on every one of the 108 holes in the game courses, you can earn the best player, which is Metal Mario. He's pretty cool, and can drive the ball a whomping 313 yards. There are other cool characters, which you only see in this game. Baby Mario, Maple, Sonny, Harry, and some others, as well as the old favorites, Mario, Luigi, Bowser, DK (Donkey Kong), Peach, Wario, and some others. At the beginning of the game, you start out with one moderately easy course, and 4 characters to chose from. You need a certain amount of points to open a new course. Almost everything you play gives you points. Even a fun mini golf course gives you points. If you like the game of golf, and like Mario and his friends, you'd love this game!

Mario Golf is worth the frustration

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 3 / 3

Mario Golf is one of those games that requires two or three friends and a couple bottles of [root] beer. It is by no means action-packed or furious. Yet it somehow is so darn fun you can't put it down. Plenty of modes to play (for single and multiple players), lots of courses to play on, and a large variety of characters to play with. It's an acceptable cartoonish look mixed with real golf rules and tactics that, overall, becomes very acceptable. Mario Golf is NOT just aiming your character and letting fire, however. It requires a lot of precision and taking into consideration the landscape, the weather, and even your character's habits. Fair warning: Mario Golf is very frustrating. Imagine hitting your ball into the rough EVERY time. Or getting stuck in a sand trap. Or missing a very easy putt that could have easily won you the game. -- Well, if you're looking for a more calm game, one that will require you to use some geometry skills and allow you to make fun of your friends... get this! You don't have to like golf to love Mario Golf. I promise.
