Harvest Moon is really the best N64 game I have ever played. There are so many different things you can do and so many different ways you can do them. Each time you play can be different from the last. This game is like life itself. There are many challenges. You have to run the farm, get the other village people to like you, get married, and many other things. I really have to say that this is the best game I have ever played!! :)

I love this game! My friend told me she liked it so I rented it. I though she liked it too much but I like it more than her! It's awsome! The clearing out of your field can be a lil boreing but the rest is worth it! Wooing a girl is fun, you wouldn't think so but finding her and giving her gifts and seeing her so happy! ^.^ so cute. And it's totally little kid safe. No blood or anything! I never would have thought a game so little-kid-friendly would be so good but it is! BUY IT NOW!!!

This game Rocks

This game is so fun I play it all the time because I rent it at the videostore. You would think that raiseing a farm would be boring but its not. You weed, grow crops, get married, Buy animals and much more. If you think you will get bored of it after a few days your wrong There are so many things to do Like many festavols. when you start the game you might think its boring but play for two weeks of cleaning up yourfarm because after your farm is cleaned up its so much fun to play. I love this game I think you should Buy it right away if you can because if you don't It will be very hard to find.

I don't know a person out there who would not love this game. I've had it for about 4 years and I constantly play it off and on. The kids I babysit play it too (ages 9 and 11) and here I am at 15 years old! You start off with a farm you must fix up. This means planting crops, raising animals, and buying extensions. You can interact with the people in the town, hopefully to make friends. One of the coolest parts is wooing the girls of the town with gifts in hopes of getting married and having a child. Their is so much going on in this game that it never gets old! Their are four seasons to year each with its own special festivals. In the 2nd Summer your father will come to grade your farm. I highly, highly recommend this game it's easy to learn and highly addictive!

Alright, I married Karen have a little boy and have played 24 years of in game fun.I have over 100,000 dollars have all the house extentions, won the horse race all the time, 2 cows with golden milk and have won the cow contest every year. Won the dog race(3rd place.) Have a sheep with high quality wool and 6 chickens. My whole entire field is covered in grass and all the other women are in pink. I have a lot of recipies and all the house things inside.I have bought everything from rick's toolshop and have befriended everyone.Neat, eh? You can tell that this game has a lot to do and you'll almost never tire of it. I give the highest rating in everything. You can have all different fruit and veggies. I have the harvest moon game for playstation 1 and 2 (save the homeland and back to nature.) the n64 one and the harvest moon 3 for gameboy and am planning to get the gamecube and the game boy advance versions in the future. So you can marry Karen the owner of the vineyard's daughter, Popuri the girl from the florist, maria the librarian, Ann from the green ranch, and elli the baker.the only flaw is that you can only be a boy, and you can only have a son.WEll have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know it seems kind of late but...

This is a great game! My neighbor gave it to me along with N64 after he got a PS2 for Christmas. It might look boring, I mean, how much fun can farming and taking care of animals be? But the game goes much beyond that. Within two hours of playing, I was completely addicted! There are so many things to do, like getting married and going to festivals. With so many ways to complete the game, it makes playing over and over again so much fun! After three years, the game is over in the sense that you aren't really working for much, but you can keep playing, and it doesn't get any less fun. I reccomend you buy this game right away, even if the price is high because it is worth every penny that you pay.

Great Game! Almost no downfalls!

Harvest Moon is a series I have been a fan of for years. The games I find VERY addictive to play and complete all of the numerous challenges. When Harvest Moon 64 came out, I just had to buy it. This game has a TON of new features and improved gameplay.

Sound (75/100) The sound in this game is great and pleasing to hear. Whenever your farmer enters a new "map" of the area, the tune either changes or restarts. However, there is only a seasonal tune to your farm, and one standard tune to every place in town. So when your off your farm, you'll be listening to the somewhat annoying tune of town. Aside from that, the audio is great.

Story -(85/100) The story is OK I guess. Basically, the farmer's grandfather died... and now the farmer is forced to take over the farm. He has three years to become friends with the villagers, get a successful farm, and maybe raise a family. Not much different from the other Harvest Moon games.

Gameplay (100/100) The game play for harvest moon is simply put: awesome. To start, the idea of farming is just great. Sure, it may seem like this would be boring. But trust me, the gameplay is just spectacular.

To start, there are tons of upgrades for your farm- that come at a costly price. There is a kitchen addition, a bathroom and hot tub addition, a log porch, and many more! Upgrading your farm is a main aspect of playing this RPG.

Raising animals is another playability. You have two "independant animals" - the dog and the horse (which your farmer receives later). Training your dog is a great way to win the dog race- same with the horse. Next, you have three animals to choose from to raise as livestock. The three are cows, chickens, and sheep. The barn is very large and can fit up to 16 animals (not sure on that, I dont have access to the game anymore), and the chicken coop can hold up to 8 chickens which are easy to breed.

Next comes the festivals. These are loads of fun to attend, for you may just win that bet on the horse for medals at the horse race. Also, you can win a ton of items if you participate in the festivals- such as if you win the swimming contest. Then you get this charm type item to go in your house so your greenhouse cannot be destroyed by hurricanes.

The final main aspect of the gameplay is marriage. You have five girls to choose from to marry. There is a drunk, a librarian, an assistant baker (Again, not sure), a flowerist, and a tomboy. When you give a girl gifts, their heart level can improve. Eventually, you can get married and have a kid that does absoloutely NOTHING!

Controls -(100/100) The controls in this game are easy to master, as you will be using some buttons over and over again and others you will not. But at least there is a use for every button- so Natsume clearly tried to pack the game with extra features. No troubles here.

Replayability- (90/100) The replayability is great after year three. You continue your lives, with a lot more cutscenes. Also, the girls that you didnt marry get married to your old rival for the girl and will live happily ever after. However, if you have not been talking to a character, they may go away for good. I.E. One time I saw Karen leave in a motor boat and never return. Aside from that, the schedules are pretty much the same for the festivals, and you have as much time as you want to earn enough money for the upgrades. Around year five, the game may get to be really boring, and just collect dust. But hey, no game can be played forever without getting boring!

Overall- (90/100- Rounded is 45/50. Rounded down is 4.5. And rounded up would be 5/5.) Overall this is a fantastic game. It is very rare and expensive nowadays, so if you want a copy, you'll have to search hard. This game is definitely worth buying... so get your copy today!
