It's a Homerun!

The third installment of All-Star Baseball only secures it's place as the best console baseball game ever. Welcome additions this year are the Cooperstown Hall of Fame team playing appropriately on a cornfield diamond, batting practice and a better arcade experience, to name a few. The simulation mode for hardcore fanatics is simply incredible. You can micro-manage to your hearts content. The stadiums are beautiful and include three new parks just opened this year. The players look realistc but rather generic, although the big-name players look right. The play-by-play is adequate, although there is no color commentary to speak of. The computer opponents in a single player game make some poor baserunning and pitching moves but you have to pitch a good game against them, just as in real baseball. The multiplayer is good. The only real complaint is that the stats are somewhat skewed. This is something that I hoped would be ironed out in this third installment. When Mark McGwire isn't even in the top 10 for homers at mid-season, Randy Johnson isn't in the top 10 in K's or Barry Bonds is hitting .180 at the All-Star break something is wrong. If you can overlook that than you will have the time of your life with this game. The best thing yet is...NO player strikes!

A new era in baseball for the Nintendo 64...

This game by Acclaim Sports shows a wide variety of features and game modes including create a player, home run derby, season mode and just plain old exhibition matchups. This game is definitely more for the sim fan than the arcade fan with a lot of different pitches and many different ways to throw the ball. Even with its complexity, this game offers enjoyment to almost anyone once you sit down and get used to it. Once you start playing this game, you will not be able to put the controller down.

This is the best baseball game that I have ever played! When I first got All-Star Baseball '99. I thought that no other game would come close to it! Then cam All-Star Baseball 2000 which was the greatest baseball game ever at that time. I thought that Acclaim could not do anything better because of the awesome graphics from 2000 graphics. But now, there is the greatest baseball videogame (at this time), All-Star Baseball 2001! I can't wait untill 2002!

This is a awsome baseball game. The graphics are incredibel. This probably wont be a good game to buy if you own a previous version of the game. The reason is it has all the same stuff as the other versions exept 4 new ballparks. If you dont own any other baseball gamr you should buy this one because it is awsome.

All-Star Baseball '99 was my favorite baseball game when it came out. then I was waiting for All-Star Baseball 2000 and when that came out, it was hard to belive that it was better than All-Star Baseball '99. Then when All-Star 2001 came out, I now know that the game can not get better. I can't wait to see All-Star Baseball 2002 and see if Acclaim Sports and can make an even better baseball game for Nintendo 64!

This game has incredible graphics, first of all, and second of all, it is the best baseball game that is available! The only low sides to the game is the lack of clear sound, but who needs jabbering announcers? The game is here! You can also use a Cooperstown Legends team which is packed with Hall of Famers like Whitey Ford, Yogi Berra, and Nolan Ryan! All the rosters are current, even the Reds have Griffey, (Thank God!)You won't get bored with this overall incredible baseball game, buy it now!

Almost the same as ASB 2000, but that was such a great game! I accidentally lost my copy of that game, and was going to buy another one when I saw ASB 2001! I knew I had to get it. I was right! I recommend this game to any hardcore N64 or baseball fans out there!

Great game if you dont have 2000

well, i bought this game cuz i was bored with mo other ones, my friend had 2000 so i said what the heck why not. but when i got it i was amazed, the graphics are somewhat improved and it has all the most recent rosters, the only problem i have is when u throw the ball to a base and the runner isnt there he slides and youre played doesnt bother to bend down and tag him and one other flaw is the ball is over the infielder or outfielders head and the ball magically goes into the players glove, hehe. i love the box that tells u where his hot spot is, it is kinda easy to win, but who cares, i have a 41 game winning streak.

so have fun with this game everyone
